They were definitely busy, be aware that your whole party has to be present to be sat. I will say even though they were busy the wait was minimal. It seemed like a large wave of guests would leave at once in an ebb and flow. Service was okay. Our waitress wasn't very friendly but was quick and to the point. I ordered the baby's food as soon as we sat down. My husband and I ordered when her waffle came out. Our food came out much slower - a plain waffle, scrambled eggs and my omelette with rye toast. The vegetarian omelette was maybe the worst omelette I've ordered in a restaurant. It was bland with a mushy/wet texture. There was so much cheese I had to dig through it to find the vegetables. The broccoli was frozen broccoli. I walked into this place last July when 1 first opened my business and I immediately feel in love with the set up, the building, windows, doors the entry way is my whole vibe, and the restaurant is beautiful. I am very disappointed with the service I received today at The Pancake House. I called at 1:23 PM on Friday to place a takeout order for the pancake special. The young woman I spoke with informed me that I needed to come in and place the order in person. Following her instructions, I commuted 20 minutes and arrived at 1:43 PM, only to be told by a gentleman at the counter that they were no longer taking orders because the grills had already been shut down. He also mentioned that I may have spoken with an employee named Makayleigh. This experience was extremely frustrating and inconvenient. If I had been informed over the phone that they were no longer serving or were close to closing down the kitchen, I would not have made the trip. Not only did I waste time and gas, but I was trying to pick up food from one of my mother's favorite restaurants for her birthday. Clear communication would have prevented this situation. Want hollandaise sauce on a piece of baked ham on the side of your weird crepe order... no problem at all. No judgement on you mixing sweet and savory this early on a Sunday. Speaking of the Dutch baby, they said it could take up to 30 mins, but worth the wait for me so I ordered it. Our entire food order, including the perfectly cooked Dutch baby was on our table in under 15mins on a busy Sunday morning after a Steelers night game. Surprisingly this was my first time here despite in the neighborhood frequently. My son and I went for Saturday breakfast. I really like the feature to get a spot in the waitline on Yelp ahead of arriving to save time. I wish all restaurants did this especially so you don't have to make customers wait in cars due to limited capacity. I checked in the waitlist when we were 10 mins away an we only waited 5 mins upon arriving. It seems that most of their staff are either high school or young college students, they were all polite. The only thing that stuck out for me was the boy greeter who was wearing street clothing (other staff in black uniform) and the woman taking payment who wasn't as friendly as the rest of staff. There was a QR code at each table to pull up the menu which wasn't told to us we just assumed, if for some reason you didn't have a phone or forget it then that would be an issue. Due to covid other restaurants are doing this as well. The prices are very good with average of $8 per person. There are short stack (3-4) pancakes or large (8 pancakes) options with a pretty large selection. My son ordered the blueberry pancakes which came with blueberry syrup. I ordered the feta spinach and tomato omelette which has the option of pancakes, toast or something else with it - I got strawberry pancakes. Our food came out in about 15 mins which was perfect. We had a large party and were told that we'd wait for 30 minutes, but it was actually a wait of 15 minutes or less. It was a lot busier when we were leaving around 11a, like people were waiting for parking spaces type of busy. Our server Justice was very busy with other tables, but somehow she was still able to patiently handle our table of 9. She was on point, organized, and did it all being very kind and pleasant. The bacon was thick cut bacon that wasn't too fatty and not at all greasy. It was the perfect level of crispy. The half order of french toast was still a lot. I tried the brown sugar banana flavor and it was great. It wasn't too sweet and the bananas were ripe. They also provided our table with warm syrup (without us requesting it) which I really appreciated because tepid syrup ruins hot food. Topped with graham cracker pieces, marshmallows, & chocolate syrup this made for a rich breakfast and the portion size could easily feed 2 people. We each snacked on thos throughout the day. I've often overlooked this place to try out their food but decided to finally give it an opportunity. Visiting during the midweek at lunchtime is perfect since the crowd volume is low. As others have noted there appears to be limited parking but I had no trouble. Once inside my girlfriend and I sat at a booth in the back. A very nice waiter and trainee in learning helped up with the menu choices. I learned that they don't carry the full menu you see online because they are short staffed but they have an adequate selection. I noticed above our booth there was a barcode where you can scan the menu if you like and there is a barcode above every seating area. Knowing they carry large portions I decided to opt for lunch instead of breakfast. I decided to order the chicken pesto wrap with a garden salad as my side. My girlfriend ordered a short stack (3 pancakes) of the buckwheat pancakes. The food is pricey as others have noted but as long as it tastes better than what you'd get at a cheaper place then it is worth the money. I also noticed on the menu under the "sides" that they do charge extra if you want a specialty syrup such as blueberry or a powdered sugar. Note, if the item you are ordering doesn't come with that then be prepared to pay the slight upcharge. We didn't have to wait overly long for our food. My girlfriend got heated maple syrup to go with her pancakes and believe me they were still huge for even a short stack. I tasted one of her pancakes and it was very good. My pesto wrap was made to perfection and quite filling for a lunch. As noted on the back of the menu their pancake batters are made from scratch with the highest quality ingredients. The suggested tip is normally shown on your bill which makes it easy to figure out. They do run breakfast specials during the course of the week which gives you an opportunity to try some of their pancakes and pair it with an egg and/or bacon, sausage, or home fries. I am interested in trying the Swedish pancake on my next visit since I learned it was a flatter pancake and served with lingonberries. Yelp has a waitlist on this business in their app should you want to check on the waittimes. The two of us were also thankful for the great service we received from our waiter team and am looking forward to returning sometime in the near future. Really surprising experience here. First, place is JAM PACKED on the weekends (at least the parking lot) There were several vehicles waiting for a parking spot (including us).. must be good, right? I've ordered take out breakfast before but never have dined in. I'm glad I did! The inside of the restaurant is giant - so if the parking lot is full, chances are there are still many seating options available. The menu selection is huge and includes anything from specialty hotcakes - to omelettes (and everything in between) I ordered the blueberry waffles, and my dad ordered the breakfast crepes.. which were the most delicious thing I've ever had! My husband, daughter and I stopped in over the Labor Day weekend (Saturday 9 am), and enjoyed a nice breakfast that left us full until dinner time. There are signs at the entrance reminding diners they are short staffed, and to please be patient. The change in hours are posted next to the other signs (8am-2pm). We were seated almost as soon as we walked in. Our server Brandy was friendly, and efficient. I ordered the pumpkin pancakes with the bacon and eggs, my husband had the eggs benedict, and our daughter had bacon and eggs with the Swedish pancakes. The 4 slices of Hormel thick cut bacon were meaty and full of bacon goodness. My sunny side up eggs were nicely cooked, without being overly runny. My 4 pumpkin pancakes were tasty, and not needing tons of syrup. Our daughters Swedish pancakes were impressive, served with a dish full of Lingonberries. The pancakes resembled plate size crepes. We were happy with everything, and couldn't have asked for a better breakfast. Our orders came out with no problems, Brandy kept coffee cups full and we were done in about an hour.
