    Big Beach

This place is great! It's smaller and always busy so be prepared to wait. Also quick tip: They only accept cash. They do have an ATM there that you can use. We were seated right away, our waitress was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Buffalo chicken frittata with hash browns. The serving was HUGE! It tasted really good. The hot sauce wasn't overpowering and the chicken was perfect. I'm not a big fan of eggs but this really hit the spot. My boyfriend ordered the big beach and ate the entire thing. Sometimes I don't know how he does it! He did manage to get a few words out in between bites about how delicious it was. We both really enjoyed our meals here. The breakfast is spectacular! Hope to try out the lunch menu soon.

    French toast with topping

Stopped in for breakfast. The atmosphere is very bright and comfortable. I ordered the French toast with strawberries. The French toast was very good, the prepared strawberries were not too great. They had a very distinctive aftertaste from the preservatives. Fresh sliced strawberries would have been much better. I was also not a fan of the greasy whipped dessert topping. The menu stated whipped cream. There was no cream in this oil based dessert topping. It really ruined the dish by having such a oily texture and artificial flavor. I sat and read the paper for bout a half hour and the whipped topping was still sitting on my plate ( not melted, like real cream would do.

Stopped in on a Sunday, and they were super busy! Small space too, be prepared for a small wait. The price point was right, and they had a huge menu to choose from. Meat lovers will enjoy the options, and they had a few vegetarian options as well (veggie frittata looked amazing) the sausage and bacon were very fresh, and the bread. Both meals that we ordered came with a choice of pancakes or French toast, so we ordered one of each.. big portions and quality food.

MY FAVORITE BREAKFAST IN PITTSBURGH/THE STATE/AND 2ND OF ALL TIME…read more Everything here was fucking perfect and it was just all staple diner food in the best version possible. Absolutely nothing crazy (minus the French toast) that is just NAILED. And THE PRICES are so awesome The Hot Mess. Massive, loaded and delicious. That's not an omelette either.. that's their scrambled eggs loaded with potatoes and smothered it their insane sausage gravy. The biscuits with it. Right out the oven fresh, so soft, not dry in the slightest and honestly didn't even need anything on it. The corned beef hash was probably the best I've had. I never had it was such a great crisp/crunch to it. That is my new standard for corned beef hash The pancakes. The best in Pittsburgh and my top 3-5 of all time. I hate the hotcake style which you see in Pittsburgh MINUS the crisp with it. But I don't want that throughout the entire thing, I still want my fluff. This delivered that PERFECTLY. Great crisp on just the edges and the fluff in the middle. Absolutely perfect THE BOSTON CREME FRENCH TOAST. My second favorite breakfast item I've gotten in Pittsburgh. You will rarely see me get French Toast unless it's recommended a decent bit or just looks nuts. THIS is my favorite French toast I've had and I hate Boston Creme 90% of the time. It always gets too overfilled, and too sweet of a custard. NOT HERE. The chocolate topping was perfect, not just a basic syrup people buy at the store that is so overpowering. Can 1000% tell homemade. The custard had the perfect amount of sweet ratio for amount they give Warning it's small inside with minimal seating and you will have to wait. I drove 50 for it and waited 35 for a table. I would drive 2 hours and wait another 2. I will be returning numerous times ESPECIALLY when they have the Bear Claw Pancake Special

Unfortunately though, the wings were what disappointed me. They were extremely small, hard, dry, and chewy in a way that just was not what you expect when you hear the word "wings." The person I was eating with kept insisting the wings are not usually like that and said they were big and juicy the last time, although apparently less crispy, so there definitely appears to be inconsistency with them. We still liked the crispy skin and finished them, but overall they honestly felt more like crunchy chicken chips than actual wings. I have just never had wings that small and hard before, or with such little meat. Maybe it was a fluke, but based on what we got, I personally would not have been comfortable serving wings like that if I owned a restaurant. The pizza was not bad however. The crust was easily my favorite part as I loved how it was fluffy and chewy at the same time. While I also enjoyed the subtle garlic Alfredo type and Italian type flavorings adding a little acid or bitter to balance out the fat or the subtle sweetness to the cheese would have helped. I also found myself wanting a thicker, less oily, more intense cheese flavor, more fresh herbs, and a stronger garlic flavor. Overall, while I enjoyed the texture of the crust for the pizzas, which made even better leftovers, and also enjoyed the hoagie, the very hard and very small amount of meat in the wings lead to a lower rating in this review.

From the moment we walked in, Daniel and Nina took such attentive, personalized care of us. They truly made the evening feel special. Nina made me a watermelon mule with fresh watermelon purée, and it was hands down the best Moscow mule I've ever had. Daniel smoked my husband's bourbon cocktails, which he absolutely loved. Chef Devin created an incredible meal from start to finish. The entire experience was five-star, and honestly, it was the best dining experience my husband and I have ever had--and we consider ourselves foodies. The atmosphere is unlike anywhere else. The aviation theme is such a fun touch, and the Edison bulbs, soft lighting, and beautifully restored historic home create a warm, intimate ambiance. Even the bathrooms were spotless and thoughtfully decorated (which I always appreciate!). The food was outstanding. We were welcomed with an incredible amuse-bouche wonton along with warm bread and dipping oil. We started with the Wagyu tacos, which were phenomenal, then split a Caesar salad that was fresh and perfectly prepared. For our entrées, I ordered the prosciutto-wrapped chicken, which was incredibly flavorful, juicy, and perfectly cooked. My husband had the bone-in ribeye, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The purple potato purée was the perfect complement. I paired my dinner with their red blend, which was delicious. To finish, we shared the tiramisu, complete with a candle for our anniversary, and toasted the evening with refreshing espresso martinis. I truly can't say enough good things about Latitude 48. The service was exceptional, the atmosphere was unforgettable, and every bite was memorable. If you're anywhere nearby, it's an absolute must-visit--and even if you're not, it's worth making the trip. We'll definitely be back!

Latitude 48 restaurant, named after its approximate coordinates, is described as "fine dining" on…read moreits website, but in my experience, it actually serves upscale foods in a casual atmosphere with above-average pricing. It serves farm-to-table foods, particularly exotic meats such as alligator, bison, boar, duck, elk, goat, and wagyu. Other menu items include more common meats such as chicken and seafoods such as trout and lobster tail. It also has a full bar serving wines, beers, and spirits. My husband and I ate one dinner here. We wore jeans with nicer shirts. The seating hostess and the waiter performed their jobs well. Our waiter brought an amuse-bouche of reuben egg rolls (5 stars), which were crispy and tangy and we really enjoyed, as well as focaccia bread (4 stars), which tasted good but could have been warmer. For my appetizer, I ordered the Wagyu Tacos (4.5 stars), corn tortillas filled with Japanese A5 Wagyu, cilantro-lime crema, tomato relish, and chipotle puree in a corn tortilla. These tacos were messy to eat but tasted very good. My husband ordered the Corn Fritters (4 stars) with cilantro-lime crema and tomato jam. My main course was the Bison Filet Mignon (4 stars), which I ordered mid-rare but could have been juicier. It came with sides of corn relish, asparagus, and purple-potato puree that could have been creamier. My husband's main course was the Prosciutto-wrapped Chicken Breast (3.5 stars), which my husband ate and said was alright. He particularly liked the flavorful peppers. His other sides were wild rice and zucchini. For dessert, I followed the waiter's recommendation for the Tiramisu (4.5 stars), which was moist and had a good balance between the coffee and sweet flavors. At the end of our meal, the waiter brought warm, lemon-scented, wet towels. The total price for our meal was $183 plus a tip. My husband and I thought that the foods overall tasted good but did not quite match the price point.
