It was in the corner of the menu and I almost missed it. I'm glad that I didn't miss it because this was the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had. The biscuits were soft and pillowy and the gravy was rich. My husband got the creme brule French toast. This was also super delicious and really sweet. I highly recommend Egg Republic!

First visit with my family of five on Saturday morning 8:30 AM. Got in immediately. Service was excellent, with friendly, happy people. Happy people= service with a smile. Coffee was a dark roast served with heavy cream. As expected at a pancake house, there were many varieties of pancakes offered. Most of the entrées were served with a side of three buttermilk pancakes which we subbed for strawberry pancakes for an additional $1.50. The strawberry pancakes came topped with fresh sliced strawberries, fresh whipped cream and strawberry syrup. Previously, our favorite breakfast restaurant was Bob Evans and there is a noticeable difference in quality of food. Freshly beaten eggs for scrambled eggs, fresh OJ with pulp, sausage patties didn't have any gristle which is indicative of lesser quality meats. Meal of 3 sausage patties and eggs came with 3 pancakes. Instead of ordering off the kids menu, we ordered one entrée to split and that was a better idea. I ordered a Denver omelette which appeared to have at least five eggs. The omelette was scrambled with the ingredients with a center of oozing cheddar cheese. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was fully cooked through the center which from experience, is difficult to do with a thick omelette. The higher prices are commensurate with the quality of ingredients used. read more

Every Sunday morning you will find me in a booth with family and our favorite server Paul. Everyone is so friendly, they make you feel like their family. The food is AMAZING. Between the 4 of us I think we have tried just about everything on the menu. Javent found a thing yet they we dont like. They are very accommodating with any requests you make. The fact that all the little things are big things to them like the heavy cream, whipped butter, fresh squeezed juices and homemade jams YUMMY. I never thought about trying crepes and Paul talked me into trying them...I even got to mix the different ones up so I could try them all. And now I am hooked. The omelets are so fluffy and you get your money worth. I always hear people say it is expensive. Yes it might seem like that but you know what ? You definately get your moneys worth and if you walk away hungry...that is your own fault. The fact that they are always so busy is a great sign !!! And worth the wait !!! read more

My girlfriend and I Dinned in for brunch. Ordered the Santa Fe scramble, farmhouse scramble, 2 coffees, 1 orange juice. We agreed that the scrambles were both super bland a bit messy. The salsa didn't help nor did the Tabasco and Cholula. I had about half the meal. Stomach was very uneasy afterwards, and multiple bad times on the toilet later on. We were charged ~$40 with tip for two scramblers, two coffees, and one orange juice (scrambles do come with a side: hash browns or pancakes or toast). I have been here before and ordered other items. I feel that they are overpriced. Coffee and orange juice were amazing but not enough to make up for the main course. Lastly, I have never had problems with the service. They are a really good team. Something seems to be going wrong in the kitchen or the prices on the menu. I am likely not coming back unless the food gets better or the prices go down. read more

Overall service was nice 9/10, server was responsive and cherry. Ordered the featured "apple pancake" and was expecting the namesake. However what I received was more along the lines of cobbled together Apple frittata. There was no semblance of cake and instead more closely resembled unseasoned scrambled eggs with a Ludacris amount apple slices. overall score for the dish 1/10 brilliant idea at face value, just overthought and underperformed. My suggestion, either embrace the traditional pancake idea and Brunois the apples after rapid balance for tender mouth feel, or fully embrace the enormous Cast iron pancake idea but use a more butter cake adjacent batter and cook low and slow. Refire hot and quick during service for crisp exterior and soft fluffy interior. read more

I had a wonderful experience at The Original Pancake House! Our server, Jessica A. A, was absolutely excellent. She was very sweet, attentive, and made sure our needs were met throughout our meal. The service was top-notch - fast, but not rushed, so we felt like everything was done to perfection. The atmosphere was casually modern and a bit noisy, but that didn't detract from our experience. And the food? Absolutely divine! The Dutch Baby is an absolute MUST TRY - it's a game-changer! And if you're a bacon lover like me, you'll be thrilled to know they serve the best thick-cut, smoky bacon that's cooked to perfection. A few of my friends and I went to the pancake house. I would have to say its one of the best places by far to get breakfast! The food is wonderful with so many diverse options to choose from. I personally would recommend the blueberry pancakes. Along with some amazing food the service was excellent. Everyone there always has a smile on there face and takes of you very well. One of few the people who helped serve my table was actually the manger of the restaurant Hector Castro and he was one of the most friendly people Ive ever met defiantly made me experience at the pancake house that much better! UHHHHHMMMM, Can we talk about Hector for a second!?! This man goes above and beyond!!! We mentioned it was our anniversary he surpised us with a little fruit whipped cream dessert it was sooooo Good!! He told us thank you for sharing our day with him!! We have been to many house of pancakes from west coast to central parts of america and this panacake house of bloomington Illinois is THE BEST BY FAR!!! Not only was the food delicious but the service couldn't be beat. We were visiting from out of town with 3 young kids who had already had a weekend full of wedding festivities. He got us seated right away even though it was a busy Sunday morning and had a small order of pancakes to our table within minutes to keep the kids occupied until meals arrived. He even told the kids that being kind and polite does pay off. :) Our waitress was just as pleasant and attentive. Hope to be back next time we're in town! Fantastic food! Bonnie was super attentive and Hector is the most caring manager I have ever met. This is not your typical pancake house. The tables look like reclaimed wood and the decode is industrial but warm. Everything was homemade. The gravy, the biscuits, the butter, and even the maple syrup are all made in house! My husband and I have been to many original panacake houses. We have been to 2 In Chicago area. We have been to 3 in Texas. The best pancake house is panacake house in Bloomington IL. We love the friendly staff they make us feel like we are at home. The menu is by far the best menu and it has so many more options than the other pancake houses we have visited. OPH has gluten friendly pancakes that are wonderful! The combination of the mildly spicy breakfast sausage, GF pancakes and maple syrup is amazing! There is usually a short wait, so use the Yelp app to be waitlisted. Very friendly and attentive staff. This is the best breakfast place in town. Consistent and high quality. I really want to point out that with the Covid lockdowns this was the only place in town that took care of their customers and staff by providing open doors that was predictable.
