7/13/24: so glad we finally decided to try The Other Bar (inside Luci's Marketplace). Excellent service, decent prices, happy every day from 3 - 6, what more do you need? ;-) Aside from the parking in the front (off Bethany Home), there is a large lot in the back. We arrived shortly after opening (3 o'clock) and there were only two patrons beside us. Two young ladies for the staff, both pulling double duty as bartenders and servers. Thank you, Paige & Portia, for the exceptional service and smiling faces. My sister enjoyed her brussels sprout appetizer (gross), while I tasted the tater towers. They weren't the towers I was expecting, but they were very good: well seasoned, crispy outside, moist inside, with a tangy chipotle cream. I think they needed more of the green stuff on the side, though -- whatever it was, it was a good accompaniment. My sister ordered the $12 Ruff Rider cocktail. We both were shocked when it was delivered, because it was twice the size we were expecting. Considering the happy hour cost was $10, it was a tasty beverage and money well spent. The Figgy Piggy Burger was cooked longer than the medium sister requested but she said she would get it again. Her fries could have been a bit more crispy IMHO. The Daily Grind I ordered was good with plenty of meat protein. I was happy to see the ciabatta bun was not overly thick and therefore did not overpower the sandwich's flavor. The potato salad was a pretty hefty servicing for a side, plus the dill in the mixture added a nice flavor. We will definitely make it back to The Other Bar, their breakfast / brunch menu looked just as wide ranging as their lunch / dinner menu -- and just as tasty.

We went last night because a friend of ours was playing music here. They have a good happy hour and so we had the deviled eggs and a couple of beers. We also decided to have a cheese pizza and and added arugula. It was really good. Everything I saw people eating looked very good. This is such a quaint places and there were quite a few of us just hanging out enjoying the music. They have live music Thursdays through Saturday from 5:30 to 8:30. Our server was great and we definitely will go back. It feels like a really sweet neighborhood place to be.

I like this place a lot. There is no pomp and circumstance. There are no frills. What they do have is friendly attentive people behind the bar and some pretty good food. We had the wings and a pizza. As per usual, we were high maintenance and ordered our pizza the way we wanted it - "no tomato sauce, add pesto, and make sure the dough is thin". There was no whining about substitutions and they followed our instructions perfectly. The crust was crispy with a little chew on the inside. The ingredients were high quality and I am guessing they make the dough fresh in house. It is easy to park and you don't have to fight anyone to get a table. This place is perfect for meeting someone after work when you don't have a plan.

Oh dear. We bought a house and it's walking distance from The Other Bar. This is great because it'll save me an Uber fare when I want to meet up with friends for a few drinks. This is not great because, well, $5 cocktails during happy hour. My poor liver. The Other Bar is absolutely adorable. From the large comfortable green chairs to the cute art on the wall, you'd feel perfectly comfortable flouncing in wearing a sundress and having a drink (preferably coffee in the AM and a cocktail in the PM). Atmosphere during happy hour seems to be lively 30ish professionals. These are not $5 well drinks either - these are $5 well-crafted themed cocktails, with flavor and flare. I've tried several and wasn't disappointed in any of them. There's food available as well, and in the mornings they open the wall between The Other Bar and Luci's, so you can have your Acai bowl in the AM and then return to the chair in the PM for your martini. Love this place.

Wonderful service and great food. Board games with a few TVs just an awesome little spot only about 20 tables with daily happy hour. Definitely a great little spot we will be coming to much more often.

Sunday morning brunch usually results in a long wait. We got lucky as when we arrived there was a long line to order at Luci's but we were able to snag a table here in the Other Bar without waiting. The wait person was very busy but we received water and we were able to order drinks and food in short order. She was very personable and made our brunch a great experience. I ordered the Eggs a la Nanette (or something like that) and it was delightful. Both filling and flavorful. I also ordered regular coffee and it was fresh and fantastic. Parking is available in a private parking area but you may have to walk a little if all the spaces out front are full. Definitely a great alternative breakfast space if you want to try somewhere new. The breakfast menu is quite eclectic.

I wanted to like this place but at 10:45 on a Saturday they made us feel uncomfortable like it was time to leave. We had ordered a bottle of wine but couldn't even take it because they threw say the top, then we said our friend would finish it and a led for a glass and they ignored us so we just left, awkward! Guess this place would be okay earlier but better not stay past 10! read more

The Price for drinks is excessive for what you get. I saw the bartenders mixing the drinks and they don't even put in a full shot and then think that it's okay to charge $12.00 for 3 quarters of a shot and juice. I saw someone return a Martini because it was so small. It did not even fill half of a tiny martini glass. After he returned the drink the staff did not try to keep it a secret as they were talking behind his back. Not a place where I will return. The only positive thing I can say is that the red headed musician was outstanding. I'll be looking to go see him elsewhere. read more

The service tonight was terrible, we waited for water, drinks, and for dirty plates to be removed up to 40 min for these things to happen. It didn't seem busy to us, we asked multiple people for help and all would say, "yes" and nothing would happen. Cute place, okay food, okay drinks, the only plus, the bill was reasonable. read more

I used to be a regular at a now defuct place in the same mall. But do not let that get you. This place is a gem. Interesting menu, get the deviled eggs! Burgers are tasty too. And if you like special cocktails - they have you covered. read more

We love our neighborhood bar. The food is wonderful a d their cocktail list has lots if fun drinks. The staff is always friendly and provide great service. My only suggestion is to evaluate the music. The rap music does not go with the vibe of the bar. Music is a big part of your overall experience. Everything else is perfect. read more

Very disappointed. Arrived and the places was less than half full. The 3 service staff that were working walk past us several times without a greeting or acknowledgement, waited 10 minutes and finally got up, left and took my business elsewhere. Was looking forward to supporting the Luci's group. update: Management reached out and was interested in my concerns and wanted to make it right... definitely worth giving a second chance! read more

We were there on Sunday @1:30ish for a late lunch and we're one of three tables there. The service started well and then it started to slack off. My partner ordered the turkey burger with fries and I had Naomi Eggs in The Nest. The eggs were over well! I did have a choice in how to order them! When they delivered the burger they never offered to bring over the catsup, we had to ask for it. After the food was delivered that was pretty much the end of service. They came over once after they dropped off the food and that was about it. I finished my cocktail and had to wave someone down to get another one. I really don't think they know that their tip is based on the amount they sell! They also need to stop sitting down drinking soda and being on their phone!!! I really think management needs to train them better. We order takeout from Luci's every Sunday I guess we will just keep doing that from now on. By the way, there were four employees there most of the time with the manager in the Hawaiian shirt popping in from time to time. I really don't think they read the reviews! read more

I have been to this bar many times but I must say the friendly atmosphere and service has really gone downhill. The place had a weird vibe from the minute we walked in. Nothing friendly about it. We had to ask for a menu, we had to ask each time for another drink (3), we had to ask for water and we had to ask for our bill. I also witnessed three other people having to come up to the bar with their credit card to ask for their check. The restaurant was not busy at all, I would say not even half capacity. I really hope this improves because I enjoy their specialty cocktails and food. read more

Being big fans of Luci's for Sunday brunch my wife and I decided to try The Other Bar last Saturday night. The interior is nicely done with a good sized bar in the middle. There was live music which is always a plus for the wife. My wife had the Salmon Sammy which has been a favorite of hers when it was on Luci's menu. I had the cheeseburger with bacon ,egg and blue cheese dressing . It was cooked perfectly and messy just the way I like it. My wife said the sandwich was delicious. I also had a dirty martini with blue cheese olives. It was excellent. All in all a great meal. We will definitely be back. read more

Ordered a GF chicken sandwich...bun came gluten free however the breaded chicken was not gluten free. We're still waiting(15+ minutes after first delivery of non gluten free item) for said gluten free option available as advertised on their menu. Additionally I'm personally non gluten free but the menu item I ordered did not come with the items as stated in the menu. My recommendation is to choose anywhere but here. read more

Came in for happy hour on 8/7/2021. Love the ambiance, decor and artwork. A cool, homey place to enjoy with friends. Service was great. Ordered a few items from the appetizer menu; brussel sprouts and cheesy tater tots. Both were a little overcooked, but not to the point that they were inedible or lacked flavor. Service was prompt, and we got our drinks by the time we had our mains decided. I got a glass of red to pair with my steak. My partner had a refreshing cocktail, but it was decent. The highlights of the night were the food. SO MUCH FOOD! And it was TERRIFIC! For starters we got the artichoke hummus. It sounded a bit weird, but all it was was regular hummus with 4 artichoke hearts that were crispy. The artichoke hearts were crisp, but moist, and I could have kept eating those all day. It comes with 1 pita bread. The server told us to order another and we did, turns out we needed it as the pita breads were quite small ($3 +). Sure only 3 bucks, but nickel and dime if you are spending $14 on an app... For mains I got the filet medium rare with a side of regular potatoes. My partner got the salmon skewer with a side of asparagus. Both the dishes were cooked perfectly and they were familiar dishes with a slightly exotic touch to it. Must be the middle eastern part of the restaurant. The steak came with a ganache or accompaniments of middle eastern sides. Can't recall what they were but they were great when I dipped my potatoes in them. It was sour, tart, acidic, kind of like middle eastern soy sauce. The server recommended it to us and we got it. The salmon skewer came with 5 decent sized pieces on it. Great for a small eater or someone who doesn't want their own meal. It too was delicious and had light touches of sauce or smoke on it. The asparagus is a favorite. It was cooked as usual, typical steak side and both me and my partner enjoyed it! For dessert, as it was my partners birthday the server comped the pound cake. While it was delicious, it was definitely the letdown of the meal. It was way too sweet including the layer of cream that it was doused with. The sweat cream wasn't necessary as the pound cake was incredibly sweet itself. Also, the pound cake wasn't soft like normal cake. It was quite dry once you peeled away the creme layer up top. I definitely should have gone with the Chocolate Ganache Tart. But their mess up worked in their favor. I'm definitely coming back for another meal at Flint!
