I've been here twice and this place makes a mean cocktail. If you like an old fashioned, try theirs. Their version is a lighter summer-friendly take on a cocktail that can feel heavy and cloying in the heat. Our first trip was happy hour apps and they were decent. Not amazing but pretty good. I got the shrimp Cobb salad on my second visit and it was very tasty. They have a wonderful patio and I recommend sitting here because the music in the bar is loud. I've been to Orchard Tavern twice now: once for dinner and once for happy hour and both times were solid experiences. This one of those places that if you didn't know about it, you would totally miss it and because it's hidden in uptown area neighborhood. The first time I had the French dip and it was huge. Like actually huge. But more importantly, it was flavorful and not dry, which is my biggest complaint with most French dips. The au jus was perfect with it. I went back for happy hour and tried the mimosa flight, which was honestly just fun. Good variety, not watered down, and perfect for sitting on the patio and relaxing for a bit. The patio has a cozy vibe and the service has been easy and friendly both times. It's just a dependable spot that does what it's supposed to do: good food, good drinks, and good atmosphere. Yum! We attended a summer movie event here in the little area between lucis and orchard tavern last night and it was a blast! We ordered online from orchard tavern and it was ready even faster than toast said it would be and pickup was super easy. We got a margarita pizza with goat cheese, and a kids cheese pizza, which is the size of a regular pizza. We also got the sidewinder fries with ranch and aioli. They forgot our ranch at first but my husband was able to go grab it. The friends we were with got a cheese pizza too and had fast pickup. The pizza was super delicious and ingredients tasted fresh! I loved the seasoning in the goat cheese. My husband really loved the sidewinder potatoes, they're like swirly steak fries! Pricing wasn't like insane, kind of as expected. Second trip in and still loving this place. Vince was our server/bartender, and he crushed it. He opened with a disclaimer that he was new (bold move), but honestly, you'd never know, the service was on point. Thanks, Vince! Bonus: it was the first glorious day under 95 degrees, so obviously patio seating was the move. Drinks Woodford Sour - This is the primary reason I keep coming back. Proper whiskey sour with egg white, none of that neon mixer nonsense. Still the best whiskey sour in the valley, fight me. Kona Cactus - Tequila, coconut, lime, pineapple, pineapple foam, li hing. A lot going on here, but somehow it works. The pineapple foam is the MVP. I could honestly eat a bowl of it. Light, sweet, fluffy pineapple goodness finishing off the drink perfectly. Mai Tai - My first one ever, and turns out it's basically a margarita in rum's clothing. Not bad, just underwhelming after those first two. Food Steak & Eggs - The 10 oz NY strip was absolute perfection. Medium, exactly as ordered, beautifully seasoned, and so tender you almost didn't need the knife. The chimichurri-style sauce wasn't just an accent, it was the exclamation point on a perfect steak. This steak honestly outshined everything else on the table and could've carried the whole meal by itself. The eggs were fine after a DIY salt-and-pepper rescue, but let's be real, the steak was the headliner and everything else was just the opening act. Bacon? Fantastic, but so rich one piece is plenty. Cheddar chive biscuit? Exactly what you want with a steak breakfast. Schreiner's sausage + mushroom gravy tasted good but had a little raw flour sweetness hanging around. Still, it paired nicely with the biscuit. Overall, another win. A couple of minor misses, but when you've got steak this good and whiskey sours this perfect, who cares? Just an update to my review a year ago. I still love this place. Charitye is the whole package as a bartender and front facing employee. She is welcoming, accommodating, and has an awareness of customer's needs that you just can't teach. Tonight we both had burgers and they were delicious. Charitye is a wizard behind the bar. If you see her working, you're in for a treat! All of the cocktails on-menu are great, but we love to be her test subjects for new cocktails she's experimenting with. As for food, the Green Chili Stew and the Hatch Burger are some of our favorites, but you can't go wrong with anything. The beet salad and shrimp Caesar salad are also great. We were going to meet next door but didn't realize their kitchen closed at 3pm. Thankfully I checked out the Tavern and they could accommodate us on the patio and we didn't have to go elsewhere. Bonus that it was happy hour! The house wines were fine and affordable. I liked the sauv blanc and the accidental Chardonnay wasn't oaky. Orchard Tavern doesn't sound like a place serving killer cocktails and one of the best pizzas I've had in Phoenix--but here we are. We rolled in for the first time, and honestly? It kind of crushed it. The Mob Ties pizza lives up to the name: spicy, bold, and not messing around. Tenderloin toasts? Basically bougie bar food, but in the best way--rich, savory, and somehow still snackable. The little gem salad was actually fresh (rare), and didn't feel like a punishment for trying to be healthy. Every cocktail we tried was dangerously drinkable, not a single syrup bomb in the mix. Atmosphere-wise, it hits that sweet spot: dim lighting, solid music, zero "we're cooler than you" energy. We were greeted really quick even though we came in through the back entrance ‍ We were sat at a comfortable booth near the bar and Mike was our bartender/server. More just our server since neither of us was drinking. Mike had a great personality, was fun and made great suggestions for dinner! I settled on the French dip, no mushrooms and a little gem (I think that's the name) salad. My friend had a burger and sidewinder fries. Mine came with the fries too. DELICIOUS! The meat was good, the aioli was delicious the bread perfect! My friend's burger was cooked perfectly to her liking and the fries were good too. We ended with and Apple coffee cake type dessert with gelato. The music was good, the food and service were great! I'm not in Phoenix very often but I would definitely return to Orchard Tavern! Andy and Gigi took such great care of us at The Orchard Tavern in Phoenix! We went for Sunday brunch with a Friend and our four legged kids, and the experience was fantastic. The patio is beautiful with plenty of room for the Dogs, making it super comfortable for everyone. Not only was the service. The Luci's team has created another hit. We're a big fan of Luci's Marketplace (a short stroller walk from our house) and Luci's at the Orchard (a long stroller walk from our house) and visit frequently. Luci's at the Orchard gets pretty crowded at certain times of year, though, so we were super excited when they announced the opening of a full-service sit down spot at the Tavern! There's a comfortable outside area with sports on TV, friendly waiters, and delicious variations of the food we all love from Luci's. Recent favorites: - Deviled Eggs: upscale style with a bit of fancy bacon stuck in. My 11 month old loved them. So did I. - Bacon Pancake Sticks: recommended by our waiter. This is country fair food at its finest. My 11 month old loved them. I may be a bad parent for feeding this to her. - Shrimp Cobb Salad: because I was trying to be healthy. New and exciting gastropub! We came on Wednesday after work for drinks and a meal. Firstly, the facility is modern and airy. There is a beautiful patio with lots of shade on the east side of the building. We sat at the large bar to be more social, though. They have TVs but it's not a sports type bar. The bartenders were super friendly and made us some yummy cocktails. Some higher end hooch would be nice. There are many Keto options on the menu. We decided to share three appetisers: the deviled eggs, shrimp cocktail, and the brussel sprouts. All were tasty, but none of them stepped outside the box to be great. The happy hour apps were small but priced accordingly. All the staff had a great fun vibe, which translates to a fun experience for customers. We felt like the pricing was good value. My friend ordered her eggs fried hard (vs over easy) which is how the dish is served and fit since reason they brought out her eggs on the side vs in the dish. It was very saucy for me but she enjoyed it. My Sunday Sammy was no special dish but it was tasty! I heard this place is known for their pizza so looking forward to having some. Service was good & it's located to another restaurant and mini shops for dessert. Cons: like most places in the uptown/midtown area, parking could be a beast and you may need to park in the neighborhood (not sure how the residents feel about that).
