Came here with a party of 7 on a Saturday evening. The wait was just a little under and hour and a half. It is just bar seating here so smaller parties are definitely easier to get seated. Not really a place where you can hang out cause the people in line are basically watching you eat. The food was fresh but it wasn't worth the long wait. This is not vegas, but this will do ! I actually prefer the Bouillabaisse over the pan roast. The pan roast both times I've had it was too much tomato. Bouillabaisse is more like a soup like dish, but it goes well with cold weather. Don't forget to add a bowl of rice on the side. Not gonna lie, the salads look great, but we didn't have anymore room to fit more food in. Serving size for bouillabaisse is large, but the pan roast is small. Lines are first come first serve. The best time to go is right when they open and you're one of the first few in line. Otherwise, you're waiting a while for a seat at the bar--because it literally is only a bar top "restaurant". But it is so well worth the wait. The seafood is fresh and delicious, and the portions are generous. I ordered the Bouillabaisse and it comes with shrimp, lobster, crab legs, cod, clams and mussels. Definitely a must visit when you're in Tahoe ! Truly a gem and worth every penny. My boyfriend and I were looking to celebrate our anniversary and since we both love oysters this was a no brainer. If you're thinking reservations, think ahead ! We got an 12:30 Friday reservation which we booked that Thursday afternoon (def a popular spot and Covid restrictions doesn't allow them to max capacity. From our server, we were quickly assisted and sat down (expect a longer line during rush hours). Once the bread appetizer is placed on your table you can proceed and take off your mask. Bloody merry is def a try for a drink option. We ordered raw oysters and mussels/ clam combo and we didn't have to wait that long. I heard it gets really busy so we arrived at the right time, because there were only 4 seats left. We got seated right away & ordered our food. We ordered a Caesar salad & the bouillabaisse to share. They're busy on the weekends so the wait time could be a while. Since rona is here, wait times could be longer. Hands down, the best seafood spot in South Lake Tahoe! Pros: The layout of the bar is open and gives an intimate feeling with the chefs as they skillfully prepare your food. I was reluctant to try the seafood stew because from past experiences at other places the stew tends have small amount of over cooked seafood but this was not the case! I'm so so glad I tried the bouillabaisse which had abundant of perfectly cooked seafood! The shrimp had the crunch crisp and shellfish were still intact. And it came with a lobster tail! I been to the Oyster Bar about a dozen times and each time the food quality and services has been going down hill. The wait time was about 30 to 45 mins, which I'm okay with since I been there about a dozen times so I know how the wait time works and there's only been a few times I had gotten lucky and didn't have to wait for over 15 minutes. There was a total of 4 people in my party and they sat us in the short chairs on the side right in front of the line. To be honest I think they forgot about our party since we were seated all the way on the right side in the shorter chairs where all the bread and water jugs were sitting in front of us, so you can barely see us. We sat there for almost 10 minutes; ready to order & no one even looked or made eye contacted with us. After about 5 minutes they toss us some bread & butter real quick without even saying anything to us. Another 5 to 7 minutes had pass & they gave us our water quickly and walked off even before I can say anything. I had to yelled out for a straw which I felt bad for. I literally had to call out to the female server to take our order which she looked annoyed. We been standing in line for about 20 to 30 mins looking at the menu on the wall, so we were ready to order but right off the bat she had an attitude like she didn't wanna work or serve us. After taking our order we waited a good 15 minutes for the raw Oysters to come out then another 10 to 15 mins for my pan roast to be serve. Oyster were okay nothing to exciting. My pan roast was disappointing, I been craving it for a few weeks since my plans to visit Lake Tahoe. It was very tart and cheesy with big chunk of cheese. I didn't finish my pan roast and figure I'll just bring it back to my airbnb incase I got hungry but i just end up tossing it out that night. Beside ordering 2 dozen raw Oysters and my pan roast my friend order a $9, clam chowder which she said it tasted "Okay" like from can. I paid my tab with $100 bill and my total was $73 for my pan roast and 1 dozen oysters. I left $4 cash from my change and had $10 cash in my back pocket that my sister handle to me earlier that day, someone had drew a big penis on it which I didn't want to keep, so I was gonna just leave that $10 on the table before we leave so the total would have been $14 tip for a $73 meal. I was just too lazy to stand up, take the $10 out of my back pocket then sit back down so I was just gonna take it out right before we left & put it on the counter with the $4. Shouldn't be a problem right? WRONG, while my party and I were still sitting at our table the female server came around counted the $4 on the counter, and said out loud, "You can just keep that, it's not like we worked hard anyways." and gave me a dirty look. Then she proceeded to walk to the back of the kitchen and gossiped about the $4, then another female worker stick her head out and glared at me. I wanted to say something but decided not too, because first of all. If her day is ruin that easily, then good. Because she might be working hard for her other CUSTOMERS but she definitely didn't work hard for our party. She ignored us, ask how we were doing towards the end of our meals after I asked for the bill, she couldn't even bother to fill our water/drinks. My sister took my water because she couldn't get anyone to refill her cup. We all thought the services was bad and the food was over just "OKAY". I get it, I been a server before and two people from my party actually work in a restaurant. One of them happen to be my sister that was there with me. So even if our female server's had an awful attitude and she was ignoring our party, I'll just excuse her as having a bad day & leave it as that. Because we all had bad days before. But then she felt the need to make a comment about the $4, well if she would have shut her mouth and be professional she would have gotten $14 instead of $4. Yes, I still left the $4 even after my sister & friends told me to take it back. How unprofessional is that? Even before her customers had left the table and another one is still in the process looking thru her check, she just grabbed and count the tip. I didn't even see her grabbed it or counted it, my sister did & told me. I Just heard her comment, I was taught you shouldn't be counting the tip in front of the customer & its bad manners and unprofessional. I wanted to give her a total of $14 tip, which was more than 18% even when she gave us some shit*y as$ service, because I felt bad. But after that comment she made, I don't feel bad at all. My friends and sister was right, I should have taken back my $4 and just got my friend two cans of "OKAY" clam chowder from Safeway. The female server wasn't quick to take our order or refill our water but she was sure quick enough to count how much tip people was leaving her while they were still seated there. Solid oyster bar with great customer service. First off, they give you free rosemary bread with soft butter as a starter. I love it when the butter is soft! Such a small amenity to have spreadable butter, but it makes eating all the more enjoyable. I would recommend ordering the clam chowder. It is chock full of clams, thick, creamy and straight up delicious. $9 for one super satisfying bowl. There were three big things from the menu that caught my attention in terms of cooked seafood. The first was jambalaya. Second was panroast, third was the bouillabaisse. One of the people in our party got the jambalaya and it was surprisingly good. I have never had jambalaya that good and we kept sneaking bites of his bowl. I was more interested in the pan roast because I had had it before at Ritter's Steam Kettle in OC. It was $34 for a crab one and, while there was a lot of crab, my bowl tasted very boozy. So be forewarned, they put alcohol in the pan roast. I don't know if that's traditional, but it wasn't my cup of tea. I brought it to the attention of one of the servers and they happily remade it without alcohol and all was good. Like the jambalaya, also very delicious. Great food but an even more awesome staff for remaking it for me. It really elevated my experience :) There is only bar seating, so if it's busy, be prepared to wait 30+ minutes for a seat. read more

Yes the food is expensive. Yes there's limited seats. Yes you have to wait. Yes there are other options in Lake Tahoe, but there is only one Oyster Bar. Whenever we visit Lake Tahoe, we make every effort to eat at the Oyster Bar or the Lucky Beaver across the street. I always order the bouillabaisse and my wife the cioppino, both stews are served with plenty of seafood. In fact, so much seafood that you'll regret ordering one stew for yourself only. The restaurant is located inside the Hard Rock casino near the main entrance and sports book. Upon being seated, you'll receive a warm welcome, water, and bread and butter. Once you have ordered, it's time to hang out and watch the cooks make your meal in front of you. Get ready though, because it's only a matter of minutes before your tasty one of kind meal arrives in front of you. I wish, I could describe the flavors, but I rather leave that for you to discover. Although, it's a small restaurant with limited seats, I don't recall once ever feeling rushed to eat my meal. You'll love this place if you're a seafood lover. One of a kind and highly recommend. Amazing Food. Yes the line can be long and you have to literally wait for seats to open but it is worth the wait. I go here every time I can. The food is always so good, service is fast & so friendly. I love the ambiance because you sit at the bar and always end up talking to the people around you. You don't notice your in the casino. I recommend 100%. My partner is allergic to seafood lol but he still eats here he gets their linguine but we are sure to tell him of the allergy because the sauce they put on it is cooked in seafood. So they always just do butter garlic and wine I mean what else you need. It is still so amazing. First and foremost, there is no relations with this restaurant to the Palace Station Oyster Bar in Las Vegas. The staff here are really nice and the line is nothing compared to Las Vegas (1/2 hr here to 2 hrs in Vegas). This location allows for kids to sit and eat, but Vegas is adults only. I really enjoyed their clam chowder, it's one of the tops on my list. We also ordered House Pan Roast, Bouillabaisse, Jambalaya, and mussels. My kids loved the jambalaya and mussels. My husband and I thought the food portion were good in size, but the taste was just ok. He liked it more than me, I think it is because I'm not a fan of tomatoes and everything is strong tomato taste. The Vegas one or Kettlebar in Anaheim is not as strong in tomato taste. Seafood sounded good and this place seemed to have some good options. I was surprised that it's an actual bar seating where you watch them prepare the meals in front of you.
