Brunch review: on weekend mornings on warm, dry days they open up their front patio for service, which can make for a pleasant brunch. The menu offerings vary widely from traditional breakfasts to creative takes on Benedict's, sandwiches, sweet pancake variations and more, and the quality is decent. The drink program is pretty exceptional; their house-made Bloody Mary variations are well worth the price, delicious and spicy. And they have an entire section devoted to tiki-style drinks, including shareable "fishbowl" variations, which could be a novel way to kick off a summer weekend, indeed! Side note: the coffee is unexpectedly good. Service can be a little spotty; they could improve this by adopting a more cooperative, team-service style. More than once, we saw servers struggling to juggle inside and outside service, while their less busy colleagues checked their phones or chatted with each other. True: it's the only brunch there is here, without a long drive to a neighboring community. But they do a fair job and the prices, for now, are under control. Recommended. read more

This is a place that I really wanted to like. I was hungry and came in for a very late lunch. Because I came in just before a shift change, it was a while before I could get my beer order placed. My server was very pleasant, but I can't really say that she did as well as she could've. For example, I ordered the cheeseburger and added onions. It must have sat for a little bit in the kitchen, because it was barely warm when it arrived, minus the onions. My server was at the table behind me, chatting, and very slowly taking the order of two women who must've been locals she knew. I was patient for a while, but eventually tapped her on the shoulder and asked her to talk to me when she finished taking their order. Meanwhile, my cheeseburger continued to get colder. When she finally finish baking their order, she turned me, and I mentioned that I had asked for onions on the burger. She nodded, and then she went to the bar, proceeded to restock the cooler, and did other tasks. At this point, the burger is cold. I push it away from me, and I am going to ask them to take it off the bill. I had not taken a bite, mind you. Another server comes over and asked if I would like a box. II told him it was cold, did not have the requested onions on it, and I had no interest in it whatsoever. He apologized profusely and said they are happy to make me another. I usually do not like to send back food to the kitchen, but I made an exception in this case. In a reasonable time, someone who I guess was the kitchen manager brought over a freshly cooked burger. There were onions, but they were finally diced, which I don't understand, because they just kept falling out of the burger. Why wouldn't you just put in a slice? The burger was overcooked and not well seasoned and at the end of the day, I thought the food was rather mediocre. This place gets an extra star because my original server did come over and sincerely apologize for the issues with the food. Nevertheless, it is not a place I would come back to. Food used to be good but the last two times we have gone both the food and service have gone completely down hill! The first of the two last visits we got chicken and fries and fish and chips and both were about half the size and tasted worse the the frozen fish and chicken strips you get at the market, we thought maybe they just had a bad cook that night so we tried one more time this time we ordered the fish and chip and onion rings, first they gave fries instead of the onion rings and we tried the fish and chips again and again it was awful and half the size, when I questioned the quality and asked to speak to the supervisor I was told that they changed distributors and that the supervisor did not have time to speak to me but would give me a call the next day but I never got a call! They still charge the overpriced charges but the food size and quality are awful! We will not go back and I would never recommend to anyone!!! read more

We have been in the area a couple times before and driven by, it's always busy. Then this weekend we were camping nearby and needed to go somewhere for lunch and decided we should give it a try. It did not disappoint. The service was great, everyone was friendly and helpful. The food came out quickly and everything tasted great. I would highly recommend the chicken strips or chicken sandwich. They have outdoor seating with some games to keep the kids busy. read more

Burger patties were thin as paper and if you get a double pattie it still don't equil to a regular pattie. My kid didn't even like the pizza. I've lived 10 minutes away for last 8 years. Food is hit or miss if it's good or not; I believe this is due to they can't keep a consistent staff. I've been served burnt (yes, burnt) breakfast. Eggs overdone, black toast and black brittle bacon. Two weeks ago, went for breakfast with family, sat by Juke box. Waited half hour just to be acknowledged. Was about to get up and leave when handed a menu. Breakfast was "ok". Went for dinner last night, took an open table closer to the bar, as anytime we've sat by Juke box, sub par service. Food was good this time, even though burger patty was undercooked from the request. Burger, French dip, onion rings and two drinks and tip was $80. Was it worth $80? No. Has inflation affected small businesses? Absolutely, it's affecting all of us. Can't just raise prices and provide less value. read more

First off WOW! I actually waited a whole week before reviewing this restaurant, because I was so excited to write this review. First off when I walked in during lunch time, the staff immediately greeted me; the bartender, and the waitress had high spirits. After looking around, I was shocked to not see a lot of patrons, as the place was well lit, clean, and had plenty of very comfortable seating. I had a little bit of work to do so I chose a seat closest to the bar so the waiter did not have to go too far to get to me, again, plenty of seating in the restaurant. Good news, the restaurant did start to fill up nicely after just a few minutes. I was happy to see that. The weather was nice, and they do have spacious patio seating so I ordered my food in the restaurant and then gravitated to outside when the weather became nicer. The waitress brought over a very packed menu, full of great ideas. I was feeling pretty hungry for lunch. After looking over the various amounts of options, the spicy honey chicken sandwich stuck out to me. I was a little shocked at the price which is why we are at 4-stars instead of five. Trust me I really want to give these guys five stars! However, $18 for a sandwich was a little bit hard to swallow, no drink, or fries included. On the other hand! When she brought that meal out, I was sure this was a whole chicken breast breaded and put between 2 really large buns. That sandwich is definitely fit for two people. I was completely unable to finish that sandwich. Just a quick note here is how I rank my restaurants. I rank my visit by a handful of factors... 1. Service and Cleanliness 2. Theme and atmosphere. 3. Pricing 4. Location and parking 5. Wait times I definitely recommend this place and will be back soon with a bigger crowd and more mouths to feed and help me finish these gigantic plates that are offered on this menu. Our go to for burgers and appetizers. Plenty of parking, but when it's busy may only find one spot. Great service, fast, friendly. Lake atmosphere with plenty of tv's playing sports. Not very happy with the way the items I like on the menu have gone down hill. Fish and chips have should come with chips. The slaw should use cabbage not lettuce and it should have a dressing. I'm not used to having to unpack my orders to see if their correct. When sodas are ordered and paid for they should be there. There is now way to talk to anyone by phone, because there is only a answering machine. Seems the new owners are just seeing how much the can cut corners from the items on the menu before it hits rock bottom. Good food and waitresses are all so kind and quick. I did have to ask who the lady was with the bad attitude and her name was Tina. I heard her talking bad of other employees and she is a manager!!! Very poor management to act that way and immature and unprofessional. I wanted to talk to her about growing up and being professional. Service was a little lacking despite not many people on a Sunday, but food was good! My husband says their roast beef dip is the best he's ever had (though I have my own favorite elsewhere lol). The fish tacos were VERY good, really packed alot of flavor- loved the apple "salsa?". They ran out of corn tortillas and had to use flour instead which I ended up liking better (they were nice and soft and don't fall apart from all the drippings), only thing that would make them even better is roasted corn! If you want some good food and good cocktails the Paddle Pub is a good place to be. We go there every few months and have not been disappointed. The service is always good and the menu items I get are always good. I had the monster double cheeseburger this time around. Trust me if you order it you are going to put in some work. I bitched out and had to use a knife and fork though. The bun put in a good effort holding things together but in the end it capitulated to the two huge beef patties and the vegetables. That's rough duty for a lone chiabatta bun. There are plenty of other items to choose from and they make a decent pie (pizza) as well. Go give it a look see. We loved this place in the 1st 3-4 years it changed ownership and from being the old Roadhouse. Great monthly food specials, fun parties, etc. Then it suddenly went downhill. The pasta was so overdone, it was like glue. They went to frozen, reheated food. Just nowhere near as good as before. We've tried going back once every couple of years since hoping it had improved. Every time we've been disappointed. Tried again a few nights ago. Ugh. Our server was awesome, bless her heart because she's in a lousy situation there. The bar made awful, basic drinks like gin & tonics (using top shelf gin costing me $22 for a double!) and margaritas. There was a variety of food ordered at our table. We were told absolutely NO modifications/substitutions. The clam chowder was brownish and obviously from a can. A two-piece fish and chips was $20. Pizza was tasteless with a chewy thin crust, wings were supposed to be seasoned but actually were bland. The chicken street tacos definitely didn't look like chicken. Jalapeños in cole slaw? The fish tacos tasted very fishy and was overcooked in old oil. Generally we like hanging out here with pretty good bar food and heavy handed drinks. I ordered the Blue cheese burger that comes with bacon and grilled onions. I asked for the bacon to be put on the side (I don't like bacon on burgers but I do by itself, and mind you, 1 slice of bacon came on a side plate.) I asked for raw onion slice instead of grilled. They said they don't slice onions so I had diced instead. I subbed fries for onion rings and charged and additional 4$. Burger tasted good, no complaints there. But after seeing I was charged to have my bacon set on the side ($2) and charged for the diced onion ($2.37,) I was taken aback for these requests. End of story we paid over 100 dollars because we are 20% tippers. Just wish I had checked the bill over before paying. That was my mistake. Hopefully this helps patrons and alike- waiter(tress) don't give you a heads up on these added prices. read more

Still love this place lol. Stopped in after a long cruise yesterday 8/20/22, and noticed the huge "Monster Double Double" for $22, and I had to do it. Very much reminded me of the "monster" which was from the previous "Roadhouse" menu, which I loved . It was perfectly cooked medium rare as requested, and huge as it was, everything about it was delicious!! Those chefs back there at Paddle Pub are really great!! Props to them. Variety of cold beers on draft, and full bar (Hendrix too, my fav gin) along with TouchTunes on site for all to enjoy their fav jams. Sham! Pizza at the paddle pub USED to be so worth every penny even when the waitresses had bad attitudes when a side of ranch was requested. Covid hit and they even had delivered in their fancy sports cars but then NO PIZZA. What? 3 months ago I was informed that they've turned to pizza = to 7-11 stores. Took only 6-7 minutes to cook, and was much lighter in weight however still that $30 charge...it gets worse. To top it off theyve turned to deception. Yep, old restaurant trickery I've recently learned as well; Sauté garlic as the cheap pizza cooks to give the impression there are fresh ingredients and deliciousness about to feed your hunger. Lies. All of it. I trust the person who bought the pizza and who was so appalled at what felt like a direct disrespect and saddened as they described the incident in such detail, not only has worked in restaurants prior but had frequented the paddle pub previously as well as worked there and knows the owner. Personally, all it took was that single word of mouth for me to never return to the paddle pub EVER. It may have backfired and perhaps they learned and stopped the stupid idea to pull a fast one on the common hungry soul and maybe don't do it anymore. Perhaps but still I won't step foot because I know what they're all about deep down. The business owners in small communities that never resort to lies or deception no matter what hardships arise and who continue to hold true to ideals and values to which deserve respect and honor, those shall receive my business. read more
