I am so confused on what this place is. The sign on the building says its a Moroccan restaurant. The reviews on yelp says this place was featured on Bar Rescue. The website says they have taco Tuesdays. My friends told me to come here on Wednesday where they have fried Red Snapper prepared the middle eastern way, that comes with french fries, salad, hummus, and baba ganoush while being serenaded by a pretty good Arabic singer. I foolishly came at 7:30, and the singer doesn't start until 9:30. Not everyone on our table wanted the whole fried snapper, so the waiter gave us the mixed kabob plates for the same special. The food was excellent. I want to come back another day and try their Royal Mezza so I can compare it to Eden Garden in Glendora. We were a table of 3 and tip was already added on our bill. We decided to celebrate bringing in the New Year at The Palace. Suggested by our friends and it being our first time. Well what a disappointment for $150 per person, $300 in total for my husband and I. First off we arrived a little before 8p, no other parties were there, the staff were literally just beginning to decorate the restaurant!! That should have been done the day before New Years event or at least in the morning not an hour before people arriving. Secondly they did not have a stage/dance floor for dancing. Mind you it was raining, the rain was consistent and hard. Well you had to walk through random puddles of water to dance in front of the band with watering seeping dripping through the cracks of the ceiling, definitely unsafe and it was a hazard. In addition they advertised belly dancers for the event, included in the expensive package deal. Well we asked the owner and he said the belly dancers were charging too, much for the event so there were no belly dancers that we paid for that was included the package. The singer was bad and the DJ was ok although he could have chosen a better play list. We had limited appetizers and they brought out the meat platter at 1am, I was dying with laughter!! Literally (4) pieces of beef for (4) people LOL that was a piece of beef per person and the chicken was dry in addition we all had 2 spoon full of rice, definitely not enough food. It was the smallest platter of meat I've ever seen at a Middle Eastern/Arab restaurant and the most expensive (not worth it). I suggested next time we just go to Subway!! That's what I'm comparing this restaurant to, Subway would give you more meat for under $10. They placed (3) sodas at our table of 4 people, we had to ask for additional drinks. Our waiter Yoseph said he would be serving us for the evening well he disappeared and we last saw him when it came time to pay for the hooka which was $95 for (3) hookas, very expensive. Never again will we eat at The Palace, never spend a penny again, not worth it. Poor customer service, lack of attentiveness, over priced, quality of food poor and definitely robbed us of $300 not following through with what they stated in the package, NEVER AGAIN. read more

Great place! Fantastic food! I suggest to go on Friday or Saturday but after 10 pm! The life music and the belly dancer starts around 11 pm. If you buy the dinner menu for $49 you don't have to pay a cover charge. For $49 you will get a lot of food!! You will get appetizers plus dinner for two people and it's a lot of food left to take home. The owner is very friendly and hospitable. The young boys and Joe the manager are very professional! The belly dancer is gorgeous and she performed very good! The valet parking is only $4, however you can ask to park yourself and just pay the parking $4. We will return for sure! read more

Salty tabuleh from the day before, frozen kubeh, okay fatoush salad, small plate of labneh, small plate of hummus, good falafel and okay kubeh Nayeh for $40 a person ... we are party of 5 people and got the quantity for one person!!! We arrived with a Groupon and the staff automatically placed us inside versus being outside where it appeared more pleasant. They haggled us about not serving us an alcoholic drink. The staff stated we were to receive sodas when the Groupon made it seem we would receive one round of drinks. Once the staff knew we had come in with a Groupon, they isolated us inside the restaurant and rarely came by to check up on us. Be aware when you arrive with a Groupon on a weekend night. The staff won't be as attentive and they will treat you very coldly. When we were about to leave with our car parked in valet, they charged us 4 dollars and I gave the attendant a tip of a dollar and if looks could kill :( I would highly discourage this establishment. Shop for another Hookah venue please! Also, they took forever in bringing our hookah equipment to our table. read more

This place is only surviving because their singer is good. It's changed from Layaleena to the Palms to a Moroccan place to the Palace. The Palace has been the worst one yet! - The parking sucks- there isn't any and you'll be forced to valet your car. make sure to lock your valuables and bring change. they charge $3 dollars bc they know people only have $20's and they'll say oh sorry we only have $5's. - service is terrible- what ever happened to "the customer is always right?" - get ready to pay for a bunch of extra fees that you were not told about before. (minimum charges, + 18% gratuity on ANY size party, + tax) a $15 meal will cost you $40 dollars - hookah is expensive and burns out quick with slow coal refills Insider tip: your card WILL get declined, you will get 4 pending charges, and your card WILL get frozen for a couple days after you come here. Their credit card system is rigged and they'll embarrass you in front of your party saying your card got rejected, sending you in a panic after what you hoped would be a fun night, only later to find out their system charged you multiple times. came here to catch up with one of my girlfriends on a wednesday evening. our old spot was Sahara Cafe in Pomona, but since it closed down :(, this is our new HQ!! i wasn't sure where it was at first but it's directly across the street from Handel's Homemade Ice Cream. ;) if you were also a regular to Sahara, you will definitely LOVE this place too. it's right off the 10 fwy, has wonderful people, amaaaazing service, great hookahs (i like their plastic mouthpieces better, actually), and the ambiance is similar.. just a little dimmer. however, unlike Sahara, they sell alcohol!! WOOHOO!!! also, FYI-they have car shows in the parking lot on some wednesdays so if you can't enter the driveway, you'll have to park in the shopping plaza on the Mountain Ave side of the restaurant. no biggie. read more

So me and a couple of my friends came to eat here about two weeks ago. I had previously been here but came to the salsa night (inside) I'm not going to rate this on my experience inside because I'm not really into salsa so it wasn't my thing. But since that time I really wanted to go to the outside part. I must say I had much more fun at the Arabic side as opposed to the salsa part of the place. We got there extremely early because when I was there previously, the place was very full and I wanted to make sure we got a good table. We were greeted right away and got seated at a good table. They offered us hookah and some drinks to start. We only got drinks since most of us don't like hookah. One of my friends that smokes hookah did mention the price for the hookah is a bit pricey there. My rating isn't a five star just because when it came down to the food price, in my opinion it's far to expensive for what you get. We ordered an appetizer that was $29.99 per person and they bring one big platter for everyone, so it's not really your own personal plate. If you want dinner, if I recall correctly the price is $39.99 and it's served the same way as the appetizer in one big platter. I honestly didn't get full =/ and for paying that much, I would have expected to.. aside from the prices on the food being too high, my experience was pleasant. Our server was very attentive, we enjoyed the live Arabic music and the singer even came by our table to greet us. The belly dancers gave a good show, overall there was great atmosphere thanks to the staff and even by other guests. Very friendly and welcoming. If your looking for a good fun night out and like Arabic music I think you'll enjoy this place, just be sure to know you will spend a bit of money since the food price is a little high. In Upland. And not even downtown. There are plenty of free parking lots within reasonable walking distance. Also, we waited well over 45 minutes between appetizers and dinner. The only reason why they get 3 stars and not less is because their kubba came out hot and steamy. I went to this lounge on a Saturday afternoon for an event. I only ordered a couple drinks, which were good, but the service was bad. I had to flag down a waitress to order a drink on several occasions. Also, first they gave us free water when we arrived to the lounge but when we asked for more (after paying for drinks) we were told we had to buy a water bottle for $3. Hands down the food is amazingly tasty and prices are reasonable. However when there's only four tables in the restaurant and you have to wait over 35 minutes for a hookah and over 45 minutes for food and your waitress doesn't come back once for the offering of another beverage on a Friday night it's pretty pathetic I'd rather spend my money somewhere else.... at the end of the day I can't say anything about the hooka it was absolutely fabulous read more

We went on a night it was pretty dead. We got great service, and our waitress was a sweetheart. Drinks were good, and the hookah was amazing. We didn't order any food, but the people around us did and it smelled amazing. My boyfriend and I loved how laid back it is. Met with the owners and got to hang out with the DJ, his name is Matt; he is DJXtreeme and is one of the best Disc Jockey in Upland, CA. I had the Kufta Kabob Humus, garlic spread, tomatoes, onions, and tahin and Shawarma Humus, garlic spread, tomatoes, parsley, and pickles OMG, some of the best Mediterranean cuisine I have ever had. I live in the High Desert where it's hard to find a place where you can smoke Hookah, order from a Full Bar and enjoy some of the finest Mediterranean Cuisine this side of Southern California, I highly recommend The Palace Hookah Lounge in Upland, California. read more
