There is not a part of the dish I don't think was perfect. The chop, sauce, broccoli and slaw combined perfectly. I would say come back for this alone, but the tavern burger and chicken sandwich were great as well. The fries are crunchy on the outside and flaky inside. Grilled vegetables are an excellent side. You shouldn't leave without an order of the whiskey cake. "I only want a bite," doesn't exist. If you aren't very hungry start with dessert and add the main dish to go. Although it was a couple of hours before closing, they had all the chairs up on the tables except for the bar area - the bar was jam packed, it had nice vibe - everyone watching the games - but things could've been better if they had had a couple tables opened up, but I guess they were wanting to get out sooner rather than later Sam (new bartender to me) suggested I order an appetizer to enjoy while I was watching the game and said it probably would taste good with my beer... he handed me a laminated card that said appetizers were half price... I asked and Sam confirmed they were half price during their late night happy hour. I ordered the pepperoni flatbread, which was above average and considering it was half price. It really hit the spot. However, when I closed out and was presented with my check, the flatbread was at full price. I asked Sam about that and he said he would have to talk to his manager. The food is always incredible, but what truly sets this place apart is the people. Kylie, Nathan, Maddie, and so many others on the team consistently go above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, cared for, and genuinely valued. Their kindness never feels forced -- it's just who they are. One moment that really stayed with me was when I brought my young niece, who has several allergies and can also be a bit picky with food. The chef personally came out to our table to ask thoughtful questions, understand her allergies better, and make sure she felt safe and comfortable eating there. That level of care meant so much to our family. Now that I'm pregnant, the staff continues to be just as attentive, accommodating, and thoughtful. They always make sure I'm comfortable and taken care of, and it honestly feels like visiting friends every time we walk through the door. Restaurants with great food are everywhere.
