The buffet brunch has the same selections both days I went. It has a great variety of options. Enjoyed the make your own waffle that's in the shape of TX. The bacon was crisp and tasty. Scrambled eggs done right - not dry. It's nice that you could get eggs - fried, poached or 3-ingredient omelette- made to order. Good selection of juices. Yay for fresh fruit. Note that hot chocolate is an add-on and seems to be from a mix. Servers are friendly and attentive. Nice decor, comfortable seating. Started off with the old fashioned (excellent, really nice Orange-citrus essence), and she had a nice glass of wine, along with the Jackfruit Tacos app. We both enjoyed! For mains I had the braised beef short rib and she had the chicken pasta. Both were amazing! My only complaint was that they were out of the crème brûlée cheesecake! And our server was fantastic! Came here for a lunch meeting in January after touring the Sheraton Georgetown for an expo and we are putting on in June. The food and service were great-servers were very attentive and we had a total of 10 in our party. It wasn't super busy when we went which was nice and made it easy for us to have a conversation. I opted for the Grilled Texas Caesar and added on shrimp. Good portion size and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Really good flavor and not chewy. Only thing I wish they served was Diet Dr. Pepper! I walked into the restaurant around lunchtime and was pleasantly surprised to be the only customer there -- I figured that meant quicker service and a relaxing lunch break. I was greeted and placed my drink order, then stepped away to the restroom. When I returned about 5-10 minutes later, my drink still wasn't on the table, which I understood -- I remained patient. Once I received it, I immediately ordered my meal: a steak. At this point, I had about 50 minutes left on my one-hour lunch break. Unfortunately, I never saw my server again. Time passed, and it got to the point where I had to leave. I still hadn't received my food. I went to the bar and asked a woman who was cleaning glasses if my meal was ready, since I was the only customer and had waited a full hour. Three minutes later, my food was handed to me in a to-go box. To say I was frustrated is an understatement. I paid nearly $50 for a steak I didn't get to enjoy--not in the restaurant, not on my break, and certainly not in the way I'd hoped. Instead, I ate it later out of a plastic bag with plastic utensils, which completely ruined the experience I came in for. I left angry, disappointed, and without any explanation or apology. I took off a star for the service being incredibly slow despite the restaurant being mostly empty when I came here with my family for Father's Day. It's a nice hotel restaurant without the exorbitant hotel restaurant prices. There's low lighting, dark furniture, lots of space between tables, the usual. The food is priced reasonably and there are a couple of vegetarian options which I always appreciate. They had a bison burger which I'm told was good as they were juicy and well cooked. The cauliflower appetizer was incredible. I think ended up eating most of it. I enjoyed the Jack Fruit Tacos as my entree and was not disappointed. I loved them and the portion was enough that I could still have dessert after. Speaking of dessert there were so many options to choose! Stopped in on a rainy Sunday at about 12:30 for brunch. Nice to be able to park in the garage and directly enter the hotel to avoid the rain. The brunch was pretty good, including an omelet station, and all the staples, plush chilaquiles, and Nutella French toast, which was great. My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla from the lunch menu, and it was stuffed. I do not think I've seen a quesadilla so full. It was very good. Our littles loved the waffles. The service was also good. I asked the omelet chef if she also did pancakes, and she went back to the kitchen and the manager came out offering to have some made and he also pointed out the waffle iron on the buffet which we had initially overlooked. Everyone was super helpful and our waitress was friendly and attentive. There was also live music, a man played electric guitar and sang a nice variety of songs from Bush to Old Crow Medicine Show, all done in a laid back country style. But the food wasn't great I ordered the cheeseburger with a side Caesar salad I figured it's super hard to mess up a burger right?? Boy was I wrong. I hadn't eaten all day just drove in from out of town wanted something quick to eat in my hotel room. Ordered the burger medium well, it was like a hockey puck tasted gritty like there was dirt mixed in the patty not eatable at all. I ended up just eating the top part of the bun because there was no aïoli sauce on it. The salad tasted like the lettuce hadn't been washed. Clean, welcoming, modern restaurant with fantastic service. We stayed there for three days, and Kim was there all three days. She greeted us by name after the first day and was extremely kind and welcoming. In an effort to avoid the high hotel price for food, we attempted to go to a few other local places, but after looking at the menu and the unwelcoming atmosphere, we drove back. We were a party of 4 and shared two appetizers and ordered 4 different entrees. No one liked their food. I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken and the whole thing including the lettuce was grilled. It was soggy and gross, very small lettuce portion, like a half of a small romaine lettuce head. We also ordered the short rib and it was so hard you could not cut into it with a knife. Sent that back and the replacement for it was bad too, but had lots more fat in it so that it could be cut. Overall I do not recommend. read more

I ordered my frittes, medium rare and substituted the fries for the gouda mac. I don't think french fries is a good side for the dish. Management served my first dish, explaining the steak was cooked well done, but they wanted to make sure I had SOMETHING to eat while they cook another steak. This impressed me and I am NOT easily impressed. The gouda mac was plain, but for 'plain' it was ok. I wouldn't order it again. The medium rare steak fritters were actually cooked to a PERFECT medium. I ate it and it was great! I have a Starwood membership so we thought we'd venture out to try their Mother's Day Brunch. Checked the website, it says it's $25. The upper end of what I'm willing to pay for what amounts to breakfast for us. No where in the restaurant is there a sign that says Mother's Day Brunch is a higher price,I even made reservations and not once was it mentioned that they charge more on Mother's Day, turns out its $39.60 pp. I'm shocked. The bill for two comes to $99 because they also add an 18% gratuity to the bill. So $14 for the waiter to bring us two drinks and direct us to the buffet. We normally tip less for a buffet and more for a full service meal. I prefer to decide if I'm going to tip or not. When I asked my server why we were charged a higher price than what was advertised on the website, he says he wasn't sure what was on the website. I asked if there were different offerings because it's Mother's Day and was told that they normally don't have smoked salmon, leg of lamb, or the fish entree. They also were providing free mimosas. We don't drink and I'm diabetic so that won't work for me. So I get water. We ate the eggs, bacon, sausage, omelet, waffles, the leg of lamb and one piece of tres leche cake. $99! We normally go to Jack Allens buffet and hands down I would go there every time, but hubby wanted to take me somewhere we hadn't been. Jack Allens doesn't increase their price on a holiday, always $17.99. Albeit you'll have to get a reservation in advance for a holiday and probably any Sunday if you don't want to wait. The food at Jack's is amazing. I just feel very taken advantage of and we won't be back. Rant on price over, if you're still reading here is what we thought of the food: Eggs and bacon were good. Can't go wrong with organic scrambled eggs. I was able to find crispy bacon, so I'm happy about that. The waffles were the best thing ever with chantilly cream! The sausage had a weird flavor. Hubby liked the tres leche cake. The omelet was ok, a little over cooked and crunchy, and the leg of lamb was a little dry. All in all I wouldn't have returned for the brunch when I thought it was $25 pp, certainly won't on a holiday! We had to eat outside because the Sheraton pumps some nasty Fabuloso-type smell throughout all their vents and it was headache inducing. Very disappointed! First of all, for a place that touts itself as a craft beer and cocktail establishment it's beer selection is pathetic. The largest portion of the beers are the same you'd find at Denny's. They had a couple more Texas beers but nothing you can't get everywhere. The bright spot is the service. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was another let down. The Brussels sprouts were marginally cooked and under spiced. The chicken was rubbery. The potato dish was room temperature and mostly unidentifiable. I think it was supposed to be Au Gratin of some sort. If you're looking for distinctly average food at a high price this is your place. We (4) ate fixed Thanksgiving meal. Reservations were 5:30 pm. We were told we had to wait 15 minutes for a table. Upon walking into dining room, we noticed there were many unoccupied tables. During the entire meal, we heard a very loud performer, whose singing was too loud and raspy. Fixed meal was salad, turkey, stuffing, vegetable and roll. We never did receive a roll and the vege (uncooked) was served when we were more than halfway finished. The salad was mostly lettuce, and some tomatoes, walnuts and cucumber. Our waitress was very nice..however the food was mediocre. As someone commented to me in the lobby, that her turkey breast was no better than Costco. I had to agree. Desert looked like pie from Costco, pecan or pumpkin. We will not be going back. I wanted to say something to the person in charge, however he was listening to another customer telling him he refused to pay his bill for a bad meal. read more

Hubby decided to take me on a day date. We went to Brix and Ale. The first thing you should know is, this restaurant is on the first floor of the Sheraton Hotel in Georgetown. The staff is super friendly. The decor is ok. There are a lot of windows for you to enjoy the views of the hotel pool and the trails. We started with an appetizer, Fried Pickles. They were delish and the presentation was nice. I had a glass of Rose' while the hubby had some type of Mule that had Ginger beer. Both were very tasty. We both ordered burgers. He had Parmesan fries and I asked for steak fries. Hubby's food was great..to him. Me, not so much. The steak fries were not cooked all the way. I asked for no cheese and the first nite I tasted cheese. Our sever was very nice and apologetic. The manager came over and offered a free dessert. What a disappointment! Here's the scoop: -We only went here because it's was the only place that popped up on Opentable in Georgetown. We figured we would try it out. Our mistake. -They brought bread to the table. It's was cold, boring sourdough. Nothing to write home about. -We ordered 3 entrees. Each one was bad. We had the duck which came out cold and the skin was white and not browned at all. The pork loin was dry and had zero seasoning on it. The grilled sandwich came out burnt. -The Brussels sprout dish was a hit with the ones that like them. The creamed corn with the pork dish was delicious. The garlic Parmesan fries with the sandwich were also very tasty. That was it though. -Our sever was great. Super friendly and helpful. At least the service is good. -There's free parking in the hotel garage. Moral of the story: Hands down, I would not come back here. I would not recommend this place to anyone. First issue, asked for a straw for our adult son with special needs and the server never came back or acknowledged this - I went to the bar and grabbed a straw myself. Ordered brunch... hubby got the crab cakes Benedict and asked, came out great. Son got the scramble which was ok, but who puts out eggs, potatoes tortillas with no salsa or hot sauce? "ham steak" was a slice of lunch meat with grill marks. My avocado toast - prepackaged avocado mash - super salty and lime heavy, not the least be. Rey avocado texture or flavor. Drowned with overdressed arugula and a pocked egg on top. The bread was over charred to the point of burnt. Since the "avocado" was inedible, I picked around it the best I could, scraping it off, but left hungry. Ick. read more

We attended a private dinner for a large group at Brix and Ale recently and had a very delicious meal! We had a private area in the back with dedicated servers. The chef came out and introduced himself and welcomed us. Everyone was really impressed with the food, the service and the atmosphere. This place looked nice from the pictures and saw some decent reviews, so I thought why not give it a shot with the hubby, but I guess I should have known better then to pick hotel food. The street tacos were cold and the meat tasted bland and grizzly. Only ate a few bites. The fries were saturated in grease and broke apart when you picked them up.. Sorry, not coming back and a waste of money for sure. what made me not want to come back more was their staff didn't seem to care. I was at the hotel for a conference and ate dinner both nights at Brix and Ale. The service was wonderful. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. I sat outside in the patio. The view was nice. The food was delicious. The first night I had the redfish and oyster po'boy. It was good, but the highlight of the plate was the Parmesan fries. The next night I had the southern Cesar salad and sweet potato fries. The salad was good. The chicken was crispy and well cooked, but had a sweet undertone. It was good- just not my preference. We got seated and ordered our drinks which were delicious when they finally came (and literally the only reason I'm leaving 2 stars). But then the waiter took forever to come back and get our appetizers or dinner order. Finally ordered our appetizers, came about 30 minutes later and then had to wait yet again to order our dinner. Once we got dinner ordered we finally got it at 8:15. A little over an hour and a half later we got our dinner only to be disappointed. The burgers were dry, the tacos had no seasoning, the chicken sandwich was mediocre at best. Definitely will not be returning or giving a recommendation.
