My friend and I read rave reviews about this place, so we decided to give it a try. I gave it a 2 instead of 1, because of the good service. Our server was personable and professional. Now for the cons.... I ordered a pina colada. It was not made correctly... the liquid had already separated and was not measured and mixed correctly. I then ordered a vanilla/caramel latte. The coffee was bitter and the syrup had a weird taste. I ordered the crab Benedict and my friend the breakfast burrito. The crab Benedict did not come with an English muffin ( which was not shared on the menu), the egg was suppose to be over medium... it was 1 step away from hard boiled. The crab cake did not have the correct ratio of crab to egg to breadcrumbs... and no seasoning! My friends burritos eggs were hard scrambled and nothing was seasoned properly. The wait time for 2 people was ridiculous, after being seated and waiting 45min for an appetizer that was literally bread, balsamic, tomatoes and cheese. Then waited over an hour for our food then so get refill on our drinks was another 40min. After getting our drinks we got dessert which was called banana foster so in my mind I'm thinking it would be on a plate with banana, sauce and ice cream and etc. instead I got a bowl that was hot with bananas swimming in the sauce and melted whip cream on top. I was scrambling to find a nice diner that was open and i remember hearing about this place from my friends. You would think late at night an hour before they closed the staff would be mentally checked out but immediately once i entered i was met with a charismatic welcome from the whole staff. My server Lilith was especially welcoming and funny, handling all my questions with ease. She was quick with a joke and even quicker with her service and the food was incredibly delicious too! The chili cheese fries and the bbq pulled pork burger were both well seasoned and delicious and i found myself interested in several more items on the lunch and dinner menu. After many issues with the Pan, I'm officially done. The last time we ordered we got French toast that was a weird grey color, the Lumberjack was loaded with sausage even though the order receipt stated bacon and everything was cold. I've been a fan of the pan for quite some time but this time around, I wasn't as impressed with what I ordered. It was bland and not the best representation of what I know this place could be. I came in on a Wednesday, after a graduation. The place was packed but it didn't take long for us to get seated. With a party of 4, we ordered the Mediterranean omelet, shrimp and grits, a breakfast burrito and chicken and waffles. The Mediterranean omelet was a huge disappointment. It was under seasoned, it felt like the veggies were thrown in to some eggs and the chef went about his business. It just seem blah. I ate the vegetables out of the omelet, which seem to be only a few bites and put the rest to the side. I ordered a pineapple pancake on the side. This used to be my favorite pancake here but I'm assuming they no longer add the pineapples to the pancake because what I received was a dry pineapple flavored piece of bread. The pancake had no butter it was served with the pineapple syrup already on the pancake and by the time it got to me it was soggy. Moving on. The breakfast burrito was ok. Good. The chicken and waffles was a huge disappointment. The chicken was cold and burnt. The shrimp and grits and the Nutella French toast is what gave this experience a 4. These dishes alone reminded me why I continue to come here. They have good food but maybe it was just an off day. Note to future patrons, this is not the place to eat and drink. I've been coming to this place for quite some time...since they were on Long Beach Blvd, since they've relocated to Del Amo, the service has been horrible. I thought it was just that one time, but today, I ordered my food "to go", I received a text that my food was ready and headed to pick it up. Once I get there, every one was rude from the hostess to the team lead. The Team Lead literally said to me "I don't know why you got that text, your food is not ready". I had to wait another 10 mins for my food once I got there...then the order wasn't even correct. There were several other people complaining as well. I used to love The Pan. I'm here on business and met up with family in Long Beach. They picked The Pan for brunch. I was a bit disappointed we weren't on a beach and that there was an hour wait. For brunch? Ok, first off I could not decide if I wanted breakfast or lunch? Pancakes or burrito? Being the pizza slut I am I decided on the pizzanga which is a deep pizza that is lasagna without the pasta. My family had breakfast and I tasted the best pancakes ever. But the best part was our server, Nicolette! She was so genuine and attentive! We went here to celebrate my cousins birthday. Unfortunately, upon entering the restaurant when we sat down my cousin was cut by a piece of glass when he picked up his menu. The management team was very lack luster in their care and attention to this. They did offer to clean the cut and a bandaid but they did not document the incident until it was suggested by our party. Then they went on with business as usual which included two Team Leads coming out and speaking to us anout the situation with undertones that implied we were trying to get a free meal. We still ate but every interaction had those same undertones accompanied by sarcasm and poor attitude. We had a large party and needed to split the bill but were met with being told it could only be split evenly three ways which was not communicated previously. The team lead then returned offering to comp my cousin's meal...again assuming we were trying to get something for free. However, still not willing to accept multiple payment cards for payment. The food was mediocre in taste. Some of our food came out lukewarm. Ultimately, this situation was humiliating and degrading as the constant back and forth left us looking like we were troublemakers who couldn't afford to pay our bill. Now we're on our way to urgent care to make sure there is not still glass in my cousin's finger. I would never patronize them again! read more

My husband and I went for dinner, and we were welcomed with a great customer service & our servicer was Maria, and wow customer service was amazing ! The food was so delicious we started off with some appetizers which were some hot and bbq wings & wow amazing ! My husband got the clan chowder & he loved it. For our main course we got the pork sandwich & Philly sandwich ( forgot the names tbh ) Maria kept coming to check up on us just in case we needed something else & I really liked that about this place. Located in a strip mall with very little dedicated parking. Street parking is available and even on a quiet weekday, that will most likely be your option. There was no wait on a Thursday around 11am and we were seated immediately. It started out with great service and a promising menu. The menu indicated that the food may take a bit to arrive, due to the food being made upon request. Not a problem, we'll wait for a freshly made breakfast! Ordered the Stuffed French Toast, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, and the Lumberjack breakfast with upgraded Cinnamon Roll pancakes. My husband LOVES french toast, but was so disappointed when he took his first bite. The toast was cold and lacked any coating. The server offered to remake it, and advised that the french toast comes cold, especially after the toppings were placed on it. That makes no sense! We had it remade and it took forever. Everyone was done eating by the time it arrived and guess what, the toast was warm. Buttermilk Chicken was just ok and the Lumberjack Breakfast was enjoyed, but again nothing special. Total for breakfast with a coffee and an Armold Palmer, $54.00. Personally, I don't think this spot has earned the right to charge as much as they do and believe me, it's not worth an hour wait. read more

Fernando!  This was our very first time at this restaurant.  The menu was what brought us into The Pan.  The pictures were mouth watering.  We waited 45 minutes for a table for 6.  They automatically charge 18% gratuity up front for 6 or more guest.  Our table was very comfortable, country style wooden bench with a long cushioned bench on one side.  Our server was pleasant and helpful knowing we were new to The Pan.  He made some suggestions and we order plenty of options.  Because our little one was 4 years old and really hungry, Fernando took his order first and he was served before us.  Not a problem, and he was very happy. Of our selections, we ordered: carne asada fries stuff french toast traditional eggs, bacon, toast loaded hashbrown, scrabbled eggs and bacon tiramisu pancakes peanut butter pancakes juice/coffee/water Amazing ingredients, great seasoning, very creative (peanut butter toppings was actually peanut butter blended with quality real butter)  The tiramisu butter was fused with coffee, amazing.  The only complaint if you would call it a complaint was the toast for the traditional breakfast came 1/2 way through eating the meal.  We will definitely come back. read more

We arrived at 10:30 on a Saturday and there were at least a dozen folks waiting outside. We walked up with Boomer to discover that you cannot sit outside UNLESS you have a dog! For once Boomer wasn't worthless, were in luck. We were seated within minutes. This reviewer loves that. Bring the dog! Then we got the menu, make sure to leave time to read the whole menu, it'll take a minute. I narrowed my choices down to three items, and I like making my impulsive choice as the waiter arrives. I chose The Southern - biscuits smothered in gravy, two eggs any style, bacon or sausage or both, breakfast potatoes.I added a pancake, always a good meter of a kitchen's prowess. I must have looked like a first timer when the food arrived. It crowded the whole table top. If portion control is a thing these days then this place is definitely out of control - lumberjack proportions. Again, I love that. Pat got the guava crêpe. It was drizzled and guava syrup, and served with whip cream, Just let your mind sit on that for a second. The entire breakfast was exquisite. They even brought Boomer water in a dish he could not eat, smart AND dog friendly. Definitely coming back, at least 18 more times until we work our way through the pancake menu alone. Food was fine, but service was terrible. Went in to pick up an order my boyfriend & I placed ahead of time...the hostess' are rude they seem bothered by how busy their restaurant is. Their rhythm is also wayyy off as someone who works in food service. They're disorganized, they only asked 1 persons name for a pick up order at a time, which would then create another 5-10 minute wait to either be handed our food or be told "It's still not ready.". The parking lot is also an issue they need to work on. The moment I turned into the parking lot, I got yelled at to "Move out the F****** way" All I was trying to do was turn into the lot & already received an unfriendly, unwelcoming vibe from this restaurant. It saddens me to even write this review to begin with, because I've been ordering from the Pan before they moved locations & these factors were never an issue. DO BETTER!! read more

Man service here today was TERRIBLE! I usually have a nice experience at this place but today EVERYTHING was cold. My Loaded hashbrowns cheese NEVER melted, the pancake was ice cold, and not only was the coffee Luke warm my creamer has lumps in it and now I'm feeling the bubble guts from that. The server was way...to bizy talking to the cook in the kitchen. I asked the lady with the rubber gloves on for something which must of been too much for her(more creamer) and she tracked down the server and had him get it when she was right there by it I'm done my stomach is way... upset. The staff is very welcoming and attentive, the ambiance is peaceful and you can definitely enjoy whom ever you're with. The food was amazing! We got the lumber jack special with specialty pancakes! They also offer bottomless mimosas for $22/hr which is affordable. They have different flavor mimosas which is awesome! I'm starting to loose faith in reading good reviews because this place was not what I was hoping it to be. We were sat fairly quickly but we had to wait 10 mins for our server to approach us and offer us drinks. I had seen him walk by us many times to attend to a party of 8 that he was taking care of but never said anything until 10 mins later. We finally got waters and I tried out their cafe latte and it tasted like regular coffee with regular milk poured in, so I guess they don't have a milk frothed? Idk what it's called but I'm a coffee feign so I know it was just a regular cup of coffee. We waited for 45 mins to get our food. Shrimp and grits: sauce was overpowering and rich, waaaay too much was poured on. The shrimp was huge but over cooked. The grits was okay but the sauce ruined everything in my opinion. My eggs were over cooked as well. 4/10 Hash browns: were not very good and had a sweetness to them. 4/10 Steak and eggs: my daughters steak was bland and very over cooked, and her eggs were over cooked as well. 4/10 Service: To top it off we never got refills on our water and when I finally got more coffee, it was cold. Our server was very attentive to the party of 8 but didn't pay me and my daughter any attention. I was server before and I know you're expecting a good tip from a large group but you have to pay attention to all your tables and make sure they're good. 4/10 I doubt I'll come back here. Especially because I gave this place a second try and got biscuits and gravy and the loaded hash browns, both went in the trash. Gravy is bland and the biscuits were so dry they fell apart like dust.
