We came here twice within a week because the first visit was so good we had to come back. The vibe is very cozy cafe style small seating area, but it fits the atmosphere perfectly. Our first visit was on a Tuesday and we got seated right away. The first thing I noticed was how friendly and attentive the staff was. They kept things moving without making anyone feel rushed. The food came out fast and looked amazing. One of the servers recommended the Hangover Omelet, and it did not disappoint. At one point my pregnant wife accidentally spilled orange juice all over her plate, and what I'm assuming was the manager immediately came over, replaced everything, and made us feel completely comfortable about it. Super welcoming service. We came back the following Monday and it was much busier with a different staff. We had to wait a bit, which was understandable, but the manager that day came across a little cold and seemed bothered that we waited inside instead of outside (we honestly didn't notice any sign). That said, our waitress was fantastic very friendly and attentive. She recommended the weekly special wet breakfast burrito and WOW... it was incredible. Honestly, it should become a permanent menu item because I'd come back just for that. The food here is absolutely worth it and easily 5-star quality. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the experience with the manager on the second visit. I live far from here but if I'm in the area I'll definitely come back.

Service was good, pretty prompt on bringing out their food, the presentation was a little crazy but the food was great! Usually when I come here it's good! I can't complain! And it's a Christian cafe such a plus in this crazy world! Loved the music playing in the background!

This was a neighborhood diner. We chose to eat outside on a beautiful Saturday morning at 11:30 AM. The waitress was absolutely amazing. It was my 1st time eating here. We had a party of 4. The food was good/ not great but good. The breakfast potatoes came out burnt , so we had to send those back. My toast was incorrect. They gave me sourdough instead of white toast. The cinnamon roll was delicious. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. Not sure if we would return ; however, it is a cute spot to go eat outside and enjoy the weather. Side note: (No toilet paper in the restroom) (Plenty of street parking)

Village Cafe on Viking Way is a quaint, classic diner. A place where you know the food is going to be good when you see that table of retired guys over in the corner solving all of the world's problems over breakfast. The California Omelet that had bacon and Ortega chilies and its delicious. The American breakfast with a nice thick slice of ham is also fantastic. Our friendly server recommended a Big County Skillet. We quickly understood why this was a popular order. The gravy came on the side, and it's great to choose how much to use and it's tasty. The Cinnamon Roll is also highly recommended. Expect a crowd, but go get a table, sit down and enjoy. Friendly staff.

This little gem has become our "Sister's Hangout". The decor is constantly beautifully designed. The food is always tasty and on point. And the staff is always great, fast and friendly.

The pancakes here are so light and fluffy and delicious!!! Located in the cutest, quaint downtown area. We were seated quickly in first available outside - but they had space heaters for each table so it was perfect! Our server Olivia was the sweetest and super helpful and attentive. We will be back soon!! Gingerbread chai latte was sooooo tasty! Mimosas and Bloody Marys are super reasonably priced as well!

If you're looking for a breakfast spot that not only serves delicious, healthy food but also treats you like family the moment you walk through the door -- look no further. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with genuine smiles and warm hellos. The staff here remember your name, your favorite order, and even ask how your day is going -- it's like visiting family (the kind that cooks amazing food!). The menu is packed with fresh, wholesome options -- think avocado toast done right, smoothie bowls that taste as good as they look, and hearty scrambles loaded with local veggies. And somehow, they manage to make it all feel indulgent without any guilt. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a neighborhood vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer over your coffee. It's clear the owners care deeply about community, health, and good food -- and it shows in every detail. Whether you're stopping in after a workout, grabbing a bite with friends, or just treating yourself to a solo breakfast date, this place hits the spot every time. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Places like this are rare -- and once you find it, you'll never want to let it go.

Time and time again this place amazes me! I absolutely LOVE The Village Cafe. . Wish I knew about them sooner. Go check out this cute little cafe with great customer service and great food! I promise you won't be disappointed. I will let you know that there just might be a wait when you go, but don't be discouraged... wait patiently for a delicious meal and service with a smile. I love that they are on top of everything. I've never had to wave someone down to ask for a refill nor a togo box.. So go show them some love & thank me later Oh & I can't forget ... if you go on the weekends, the Chile Verde omelette special is out of this world!!!

I love Village Café. Everything is always fresh delicious. Tasty excellent service food today. I had the best Machaca and eggs in my life with a side of beans my wife had pancakes and bacon and hashbrowns and I don't know what my grown-up son had. I forgot what it's called but everybody enjoyed their food thank you village Café.

I love Cornbeef hash but the one here wasn't really to my liking. I do not like peppercorn and definitely not in my Cornbeef hash. I also like it with rice, not an option here. It was ok. I'll have to try something else when I go back. Omelette was a 3/5 goo but not great. Pancakes were 4/5. Id come back for that. The cinnamon roll was next level. 6/5, it was that good. Cold brew flight was ok. Nothing to write home about . Service was top notch. Busser, Host, Server were on it. I never set foot inside because I sat outside. I'm still salivating over that cinnamon roll and tempted to go back right now. Thank you for a good experience. See you soon.

I don't recommend the smash style burger because it's smaller and doesn't come with the fixings, but if that's your thing than by all means enjoy. I got the backyard bbq burger and it was very tasty. Not the best I've ever had but it definitely hits the spot and prices are not bad at all here. If I happen to be in the area again I would definitely be down to phone in my order and pickup for takeout to enjoy the tastiness somewhere I feel a little more comfortable. Staff was also very friendly - when they could be seen at least, but it was one cashier/server with two guys in the kitchen and although it's a small hole in the wall place there is still plenty to do if you're understaffed so I'm not even mad about it. Thanks ya'll!

I started with a cup of their beef and barley soup. My wife and I both make this at home from scratch and we're both impressed by theirs. My wife took a taste of mine and instantly ordered her own. Very rich and flavorful. I kept looking at photos of their take on chicken and waffles and knew I had to try it. Seriously epic and was good as it looked. They coated the chicken in a chili rub that gave it a sweet and spicy flavor when paired with their maple syrup. Served on top of a waffle and topped with an egg. I loved it and would probably order again on my next visit. My wife had the American plate which was your classic eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sourdough toast combo. High quality ingredients elevated it beyond your typical diner food. Drinks were great too. I had their house made bloody mary which had a nice kick to it. My wife had their brunch version of a Corpse Reviver cocktail. After our meals were done we finished with an Irish coffee since everyone was ordering them. Perfect service, relaxing atmosphere, and delicious food will definitely have me returning very soon! Parking is free for 2 hours at the nearby garage on 3rd and is a very short walk. It's about how management handled it. We made a reservation three days in advance to watch the Mexico World Cup match. We arrived 10 min early to our reservation in anticipation of the crowds. We received confirmation by both email and text, but when we arrived, we were told there was no reservation and "nothing they could do." Despite showing proof of our confirmed reservation, they refused to honor it and told us there were no tables available. Seconds later, another group walked up and asked to join the waitlist, and he gladly added them. I then asked why we couldn't be added--considering we had a confirmed reservation--and only then did he put us on the list. When a restaurant makes a mistake, the bare minimum is trying to make it right. We should have been given priority on the waitlist. Instead, after nearly two hours of waiting, we were still ninth in line even though the wait time for our table size showed 0 minutes. We left without ever being seated. Thankfully before the match began, we walked over to Broken Spirits (5 min walk away) where they seated us within 15 minutes and even gave us complimentary drinks to celebrate the game. The difference in hospitality was incredible. This wasn't my first disappointing experience here, either. On a previous visit, I waited outside to be seated for so long that I eventually gave up and seated myself at the bar. To make matters worse, the food and drinks don't justify the price. Cocktails are around $20, filled with ice, and underwhelming. As a customer, I left Ordinarie feeling dismissed and disrespected. Between the poor service, overpriced menu, and management's complete lack of accountability, I won't be returning. If you're in the DTLB area, I would recommend better drinks/better service at Broken Spirits or Midnight Oil :)
