Yes, I'm a Dr Who fan, but you don't have to be a fan to love the Pandorica. I come to this restaurant as often as possible since I'm travelling from Pennsylvania. I often love to meet other friends here as a "half-way" stop when heading to New York to see family and friends. The ambiance is fun and different that any place you've been before. Shirley the owner and her team love to dote on their customers to ensure they are comfortable and happy with their order. I have been to the Pandorica for Dr. Who events with meet and greets and fun itineraries. I've also been to the Pandorica for their 2nd Sunday Afternoon English tea's which are awesome. All homemade. I am looking forward to my visit at the next Tea April 13th. The food is great, and reasonably priced. The village of Beacon NY is lovely to walk around and shop. Always a fun time.

Gosh, I really hate to write this, but I thought The Pandorica was lacking. I went in bubbling with anticipation. I have wanted to go to this British/Dr. Who themed restaurant for a long time. The decor was indeed interesting and I liked how they played episodes of Dr. Who on the tele. Unfortunately, the service was slow and a bit confused. The staff was friendly but they seemed disorganized, and again, quite slow moving. On the upside, the tea was magnificent. If you want to have wonderful teas, served in a pretty kettle, then I would highly recommend this restaurant. However, they might think about switching to a simpler menu of tea sandwiches? I found the food to be lacking all around. The fish and chips and the cottage pie--two staples of British cuisine--should have been expertly prepared in a restaurant like this. Instead, the fish was doughy and the portions were small. Moreover, the chips were thin, American-style fries. Pandorica did serve this meal with malt vinegar, which is a must. Thumb's up for the vinegar option. Unfortunately, the cottage pie was also very average. The brown gravy flavored with thyme and rosemary was okay but the potatoes and meat seemed to be prepared separately with the potatoes placed on top of the meat with an ice cream scooper. I would encourage them to find a proper, traditional pie recipe online. (Gordon Ramsey's mother's recipe is one I'd recommend.) We also got the pierogies as an appetizer. These were likely frozen. They tasted and looked similar to Mrs. T's frozen pierogies (common in supermarket freezer sections). I think a restaurant should serve handmade pierogies or skip them altogether. Then again, why is a British themed restaurant serving pierogies in the first place? Also, it's a shame that a British themed restaurant did not offer ANY British beer. Not even cans of Irish Guinness. (?) I wish them well, but I can't recommend this restaurant except for a spot of tea and an episode of Dr. Who.

We ate here and really enjoyed our food. The owner is very passionate about the them of the place and everything has a story. It is based off if Dr. Who, which prior to dining there, I had no knowledge of. Food was awesome! Especially the cherry sangria!.

If you're a doctor who fan like I am, you'll want to come here. The cafe is COVERED in fandom nostalgia. I came here with a friend for a small bite and loved everything! This was probably the best scone I've had in New York, and I tend to frequent a lot of tea shops and restaurants in the city. Such a great and friendly staff too! Just don't take your eyes off the wheeling angel on the wall for too long, they might take a sip from your cup!

Fish Fingers and Custard. They were weird and delicious.

This was our first trip to Beacon, and we began strolling up Main Street well after lunch time. We passed a few restaurants that seemed busy and so we continued up the hill. Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted the word "Pandorica" on a faded sign. I knew the connotation, but I didn't realize what a treat we were in for. Now, as a sci-fi loving family, we are well versed in modern Doctor Who. Therefore, we expected the props, the themed menu, and the general nerd vibe. The decor and theme are amazing. But we truly had a low bar set for the food. We were so pleasantly surprised. We started with tea. I had #12, which was a nice Jasmine blend that I enjoyed. Better yet was #11, which had a custardy taste that was delightful. Both teas came in teapots, each with a cozy. The teacups and saucers were straight out of a Victorian detective's study. Since we were there after lunch, we went with some smaller dishes. The Potato Pancakes were nicely fried, crispy and tender, and served with applesauce. The Bangers and Mash were perfect - sausages tender, the gravy was not too salty, and the peas were cooked just right. But oh - the crowning jewel for us was the Fish Fingers and Custard. I had wanted to try this since 'The Eleventh Hour' in 2010. It was disorienting and delicious, and we savored each one. All in all, it was a truly wonderful experience and meal. As an Anglophile, as a Whovian, and as a Dutchess County dining enthusiast, I was extremely happy. We will definitely be back!

ARRIVAL: My partner and I went for lunch a little after 12pm on a Friday, just after they opened. They're apparently only open Friday-Sunday so we tried to make a reservation, but got the machine. It didn't matter though because we were the only ones in the restaurant when we arrived. FOOD: All the food was good! We had the fish sticks and custard as an app, the beef shepherds pie and Mac and cheese as our entrees, and the bread pudding with honey pear tea for dessert. The shepherds pie was my favorite because the flavors were great, it looked beautiful, and I loved how the potatoes were cooked (mashed, but then scooped into little balls and baked with cheese on top so they were slightly crispy on the outside). I would also recommend the fish sticks with custard and bread pudding. The fish sticks with custard wasn't life-changing, but is definitely worth trying because of how surprisingly well the combination works and how unique it is. The bread pudding was just classic: fresh, delicious, and not too sweet. The Mac and cheese was above average, but nothing remarkable. MENU: What I liked about the menu overall was that they had a lot of items that are not very common. Most dishes were basic British pub standards, some were British standards but with small twists on them, and some were even more unique. Most also had some kind of DW reference in the title, which was delightful. SERVICE: The service was overall very good! The only issue was that our server seemed a little overwhelmed once a couple other tables were seated. I suspect they were understaffed because she seemed to be the only one seating customers, taking orders, running food, and clearing/cleaning tables. Nothing went wrong and she was very helpful with all of our questions. Everything just took longer than expected once we weren't the only table. AMBIENCE/ATMOSPHERE: All the decor was lovely and, of course, Doctor Who themed. The small hall to the bathroom was especially pretty because it had colorful lighting and the door is painted like the TARDIS. They even played episodes of DW on the large tv behind the counter. They had some pretty shirts and sweaters with the restaurant's name. I bought 2 royal blue T-shirts that had the Van Gogh sunflowers coming out of a TARDIS. It was a great experience overall! I would definitely go back and recommend it to others!

The only thing great about this place is the atmosphere. Very fun ode to Dr. Who. Lots of thought has been put into the decor, menu, and ambiance. I wish the food was just as impressive. The fried chicken wrap was delicious, but the cheese was just cold shredded cheese. My friend got the fish and chips. She got sick shortly after, vomiting all night. The store owner was overwhelmed, grates she is short-staffed. However, she was kind of rude. We scanned the QR code, but we couldn't see half the menu. We looked up the menu on another site and she was irritated with us that we ordered things that were no longer on the message. She said she knew about the menu not loading, but doesn't know how to fix it. She also only had one QR code to share amongst multiple tables. We waited an hour for our food. Others came in after us and got their food before us. Owner told us she had limited fryers. Doesn't logically make sense that our food came out after everyone else's. One of the specials was a sangria. It was strong, which I don't have a complaint about, but it was not sangria. It was fruit nectar and alcohol. Very disappointed in this place and don't plan to be back unless my brother, who is a huge Dr Who fan, wants to return for the ambiance.

Everything was amazing ! I forgot to leave my review after eating here for Mother's Day/My Birthday Brunch in May! As a Whovian, this was the cutest and most whovian place to ever go to ! I really loved the vibes and decor that brought this place together. The owner is amazing and delightful as a fellow whovian herself !!!

Came to check out this restaurant on our way to the museum. I wouldn't recommend coming here for the food. If you love Doctor Who then it might be worth checking out but the food is something you could pick up at a deli. The salads looked like something an amateur can whip up in the kitchen - just putting ingredients together. I will say that the portions are quite large. There was only one server when we went and about 6-8 tables.

Had to update the review. Definitely one of the best places in Newburgh if not the top of the heap…read more Never had bad meal here yet. He has a standard menu that is always set to about 5 or 6 options on the Hot tray. There is a small menu that's off items that you have to ask him such as boiled plantains and other down-home Jamaican goods. His rum cake is definitely some of the best I've had. Give it a shot if you have a chance. He has started to introduce jumble sauce which you can add to your food, you just have to ask if the homemade stuff is available. It's usually right behind the counter on the shelves in Plainview. If you like hot Jamaican patties on the spicy side you have to get here before 4 o'clock if not they're all gone. The drinks aren't too bad either he offers sea moss, Irish moss and a bunch of fruit juices. Also some of the best fried chicken in Newburgh. ::PLEASE BE AWARE HE OPERATES ON ISLAND TIME; HE LIKES TO LINGER OVER THE RICE WHILE POURING THE GRAVY AND MAKES SURE THE PLANTAINS ARE ARRANGED JUST RIGHT. On our way to Resorts World wanted to have some Spanish food before trying our luck at casino…read more Saturday night around 8 only one other table was occupied. We were greeted and said we could sit anywhere and told no yellow rice and chorizo. Except for decor a mural of Old San Juan nothing authentic but we are here for the food. Ordered chorizo and maduros Empanadas appetizer tripeleta sandwich with side of tostones. Wife had Mofongo with shrimp. Empanada was really good never had that combo before so good start. Triplelta is steak pork and chicken and super soft hero/pan bread. Nice flavor tostones were big and were accompanied by a garlic white sauce. I like just ajo in oil which they did not have. Wifes mofongo was a little salty as were the jumbo shrimp in white sauce. She did receive a wonderful citrus dressing which she used on the little salad which she loved. We took most of it home since we were not looking to fill up prior to the casino. Saw a few people order takeout not sure if that makes up a large part of business or not. My wife and I have been in hospitality for 30 years and if you see a new face wouldn't you want to welcome them and thank them for trying out the restaurant? I think so. Not sure if it was owner or manager but he spoke to the one other table throughout our meal. I think he missed an opportunity to talk with us about our experience. Waitress spoke only English which is stark contrast to every Spanish restaurant in Brooklyn where we lived for 30 years. My wife is Puerto Rican so she was looking for that connection to no avail. So to close the food was decent but not sure I would make the trip back. We will keep trying til we find a real Spanish restaurant.

These had a lack of that, The alcapuras were nice and crispy and had flavor, but one seasoning used was unfamiliar, and they didn't need to add it. As per my sofito burger that had avocado, fried cheese, some sort of aioli really wasn't a marriage for me. It did not all go together. The ground meat was too thick and bland. I guess if you're starving, it'll taste good. Yuca fries were thick and hard. My husband's entree was better tasting but wasn't hot. The parcha juice was a 10/10.
