Lived in the area for many years and have never been here. We stumbled across this last night (Sat) and took a chance bc we saw 5 star reviews. We walked into a busy place but luckily bar was open, and we enjoy bar seating. It was super busy, so we were just happy to get a spot and have a drink. It did take awhile for the food (no judgement here for a busy Sat Eve) and once it came, it was delish. French onion soup, coconut shrimp (better than most seafood spots) and French dip. All very good, my only complaint is that our bread for the French dip was so soggy that it was gummy. But the flavors were so good. After seeing the menu, I can't wait to try other things...we will def be back and can't believe it's taken this long to find an amazing Irish pub!! read more

Not sure how this place reached 4.5stars. It's filthy inside!!!. Brown water stains on the ceiling / mold on the extractor fans. The service was mediocre and the food was worse. I had fish & chips and the fish was rock hard after the batter was taken off. God only knows what it actually was because it didn't taste like fish. All of it...Food, Service and Ambiance were excellent! Lady who waited on us was one of the best servers we've ever had, plus she was taking care of bar patrons at the same time. Food - lobster bisque, steamed clams, meatloaf and Philly steak sandwiches - all large portions and great flavor (altho the mac and cheese seemed out of a box). The pub itself was temp cool, interesting and comfortable. Just a lovely, local, great place to stop for a drink or a meal. And, prices were very reasonable. read more

Awesome welcoming bar/ pub. This is our go to spot for a casual date night. Or for catering wings for family events. When our kids / friends visit we always get a request for wings. We waited a long time for waitress to get to the table to give menus and ask us our drink order - the order came out different than what I ordered, spoke to a different waitress, shift change I guess, and she explained she wouldn't have served the meal that way- nothing else! No have a drink on us for the inconvenience- nothing!! Will never go back - oh and to the owner - time to clean the filter in the back of the restaurant! read more

No matter the time of the day, the owners are always here and they made sure that your food is perfect and the drinks are out on time. Didn't order any food , just popped in for a few drinks . The bartenders were very friendly . Got really rowdy when the football game started (which is expected). Coming back from the bathroom a customer took my chair and brought it to their table . Irked me a bit because I had gotten there before them and was sitting there the whole night . Just stop here and have a beer. It is the best pub in the area. The bar is gorgeous with beautiful light woodworking. Jane the owner, makes nearly everything in house and she and the staff make exceptional food. The wings, corned beef, nachos and burgers.... are all great......But she also offers items ranging from bacon wrapped shrimp and horseradish sauce with balsamic reduction to homeade eggplant rollatini and short rib quesadillas. You will know immediately that this is just not your average pub fare. "Irish" Jane, the barmaid is the best bartender you'll find. She's pleasant, attentive and a true professional. I am always impressed by how well she can manage a busy restaurant. She is remarkable. Dont worry If either Jane's not working because you'll will be in safe hands with Savannah. She's a real doll and her Bloody Mary's are second to none. Did i mention they pour the freshest Guinness around? Irish Eyes is a place you will feel at home....even if it's your 1st time in. Staff were great.. very attentive and super nice.. Had the bisque soup, shrimp and crab fritters, mozzarella sticks and mashed potatoes (for the baby) to start. The fritters were excellent!.. soup was a bit watery, but still delicious.. mashed potatoes were great.. and stix are stix lol Ordered the open faced steak sandwich on garlic toast & my husband ordered fries and Rueben rolls for his dinner. Our daughter started getting ancy, so we asked the waitress if she could pack the rest of the meal up for us.. When we got home, there were 2 grease soaked brown paper bags in the plastic bag with the Rueben rolls in one and fries in another.. very strange way to pack up greasy items.. My steak sandwich had absolutely no flavor whatsoever.. it said there was gravy on it, but there wasn't.. the "toast" was the bottom of a hamburger bun.. it was pretty gross actually. I couldn't even eat it, and I'm not a picky eater. Also, my sauteed spinach had a sort of sour taste to it but I ate that anyway lol I think maybe I ordered the wrong thing, since our appetizers were so good. Oh man, I really hate to do this, but Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant was not good. My two friends and I sat down around 7pm on a Saturday evening and ordered a few beers while we waited for our food. I ordered a Guinness, and took note of how professional the pour was. Just the right amount of froth at the top, and it was nice and cold. Unfortunately, that's where the good attributes of this Irish Pub end. One of my friends ordered the corned beef platter, and two of us ordered sandwiches. After waiting about an hour for the food to come out (credit the corned beef platter, which I'm assuming they made fresh) we were ecstatic to receive our plates. The sandwiches were below average, having been somewhat lukewarm after waiting for the corned beef, and the french fries were moderately-crispy to soggy at best. The corned beef platter though, was literally, boiled corned beef, potatoes, and carrots, on a plate. I understand this might be a traditional way to prepare and serve this dish, but there was no care taken into preparing the meal. It was obvious. I'd love to go back to Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant to enjoy a beer or six, but that's all. Skip the food, stay for the booze. read more

IRISH THIS PLACE WAS STILL GOOD. There was a period for about 2-3 years where Irish Eyes was a legitimate option to visit almost any day of the week--Monday through Saturday and there was at least the promise, if not the possibility of a crowd. And it has its crowd for football on Sundays, as well. That time has come and gone. Most nights when you drive by, the parking lot is empty or emptying. The younger crowds that it was drawing consistently have left and have not returned. Pros: drinks are reasonably priced, there is a juke-box, the serving staff tends to be attractive (if you care), and unlike others have suggested across the web (Google reviews) the food is decent for the price (typical range for a meal seems to be $10-20). Cons: you will rarely get buy-backs, the juke-box queue is never-ending and the house will sometimes just cut it off--meaning there is a good chance you will never hear your music (I know this is odd considering the patronage is lacking--apparently those who do still go like to get their tunes on the air), and an empty house. Recently they added a nice deck off the side of the building to accommodate those who want to get outside in the nice weather, but unfortunately, you'll probably be doing it alone. When the weather is nice you'll find most locals head to the Newburgh Waterfront for more options, more people, and the riverside experience of being right on the Hudson. If you're looking for fun--there are probably better options; it pains me to say this as a one-time fan. read more

Great local pub. He had burger that was HUGE and very good. His only complaint was that the bacon on the burger wasn't cooked enough. Kinda chewy. I had Fish and Chips. Fish was from a box and not made fresh. Chips, on the other hand, were excellent! Staff was very attentive and very friendly. We will go again but maybe on a busier night when more food is being cooked and not just sitting in the kitchen waiting to be cooked. read more

Irish Eyes is a pretty good little working class corner bar, except that it's not on a corner, and it's got a wide variety of folks who go there. Situated on Route 9W in New Windsor, it's hard to miss. Parking is in their private lot, but if that is full (and it may be on a Friday or Saturday evening), you'll need to search for a spot somewhere off of 9W, behind the bar. That can be harder. Inside you are greeted with the bar area in front, and seating in back. The bar is nice and while the seating may look sort of cheap in back, don't worry - the food is good. You can get a wide variety of bar type food here, and it's all pretty good, and reasonably priced. It's not the best food, but it is standard pub fare - perhaps a bit better. The beer is flowing, and the selection not bad for a [sort of] Irish pub. Folks there are friendly - be forewarned, though, that the bar is frequented by off duty police, as they like it a lot. Not a big deal for me, but if you are the sort of person who gets in trouble at a bar, you may wish to do that at a different one. One of the owners - a very attractive red-haired woman - can often be found behind the bar. She and the rest of the bar and wait staff are quite friendly. Can't believe I haven't given our local a review! This is a true local with great food and excellent team members! Everyone is treated like a local. Their menu is HUGE!!! And can be overwhelming, but they answer every question patiently and usually have great recommendations! Try the daily specials, they are always made from scratch....and with love. Great spot to watch games or just watch the regulars. Check out this local favorite and neighborhood gem! Great atmosphere and great dinner. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The french onion soup was delicious and unique in that it was the first French onion soup that I have had with rye bread instead of a white bread. Sounds weird but was great under all the melted cheese. The cottage pie was cooked just right - a version of Shepard's pie with a layer of mashed sweet potato under the normal potato topping. The size of the meat and veggies in the base were just right and the gravy base was pretty tasty and not over salted. I asked for gravy on the side as well. The menu is pretty diverse and the portions are large at a fair price. Went back again today (7/16/16) since I had such a great experience yesterday. The experience was a little different so adjusted my rating to a 4. The lobster bisque was good. I ordered the corned beef platter. The corned beef was tasted great. The cabbage, potatoes, and carrots had no taste. The little liquid on the platter also lacked any flavoring from the corned beef. Pretty sure the veggies were cooked separate from the meat. One carrot was not edible - not sure if it was just a bad carrot or overcooked in a microwave but it should not have been plated. Still a great place - perhaps a corned beef sandwich next time. Okay. Third visit (7/30/16) this time with my wife. Very disappointed. We had French onion soup and the Cuban panini with onion rings. The onion soup and rings were great. My wife's panini was nothing but pork fat and inedible. Mine was just fine. We mentioned it to the waitress and they offered to remake but my wife wasn't interested. That was the end of it. We happily paid without fuss but we won't be headed back. Turns out the first time was a fluke. Seems the only good food is the bar food - wings and rings. read more

Long time customer and service tonight was not up to par. Bar was crowded, sat at table in back and was forgotten for over 20 minutes. Had to get up to look for waitress who left for the night, went to bartender Devyn to get another round of drinks. Once bar emptied out, we moved near bar only to be told at 11:11 that she was calling last call soon. 11:11 on a Saturday night??? Bar is supposed to be open until 2. I count over 8 people in bar. Never experienced this here. And then we witnessed a group of 4 who were intoxicated being served another round. Totally disappointed tonight. read more

Came here with my 8 year old son before a movie at nearby Destinta. Had a very nice meal. GREAT service with a genuiness that you don't see often enough. Cottage pie was great with a tasty gravy and use of both regular and sweet potato mash. Very tasty corned beef sandwich. Calamari was great too and not overcooked and tough. I will be back with the rest of the family. A nicely poured Guinness and a tasty dessert to top it all off. read more
