A new weekend staple! I discovered this place through a Yelp event and I'll be forever grateful. It's pretty unassuming on the outside, but the inside is beautiful. Local art, candles, jams and more are for sale. The owner was so personable and took the time to answer all of my questions. You can tell she takes a lot of pride in her work, as she should! Everything I got was delicious. I'm usually not a scone girl, but I think the problem has been I've just never had a good one. The Cheddar Bacon was soft, not dry, and you can never go wrong with Cheddar Bacon anything. I'll definitely be trying more flavors! The Lemon Danish was incredible. Dee (the owner) said it's the same dough as the cruffins, which I know are very popular. The Chocolate Brownie Swirl Cheesecake was perfect in every way with chunks of brownie throughout. This is such a cute little bakery and such a great a location! I stopped by for an iced sugar cookie, because it's my weakness, but there were so many delicious options! The shop itself is small, but cozy. Definitely somewhere I could hang out for awhile and do homework. They were in the midst of a photo shoot when we stopped in, so lots of fun displays and products. The blondies are delicious, such a wonderful butterscotch flavor! We tried a peanut butter chocolate ugly mug cake, which is heavenly. It's so delicious and rich that it's nearly impossible to finish in one sitting! The iced sugar cookies are also wonderful, and I could definitely have eaten more than one. My sister-in-law recently ordered a birthday cake for my nephew who was turning five and told me that she ordered the cake from this shop and was really happy with the entire experience. I can't speak for the experience, but I can tell you that this was a beautiful cake - absolutely beautiful and delicious, too! It was a very dense, rich almost pound cake like chocolate cake with an Italian buttercream that was spot-on - very silky and smooth. My nephew *loved* it and was just in awe and everyone enjoyed it. Monday was National Cheesecake Day. Personally I think it was just an excuse to eat cheesecake and let's be honest, who needs an excuse. I saw this Facebook ad that the Pantry KC was selling their cheesecakes for half price in honor of the day & said why not. Let me tell you that these cheesecakes were delicious! When I say they were delicious, I mean I drove out of the parking lot & before I got to the light, my teenager said we had to go back so he could get another one. He had already devoured it in the car. He said the crust is one of the best crusts that he had in a while. I'd have to agree with him. I thoroughly enjoyed both the vanilla bean and the chocolate cheesecakes that I had. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The location was clean and well lit. The design is very simplistic. I felt very comfortable in there. I'll definitely be back to try the other desserts. read more

I found this terrific bakery by searching for somewhere to grab a coffee and something to eat (something different than the standard fast-food fare) while on a road trip that just happened to bring us through Lenexa.....it's a tad hard to find, but OMG it's well worth the effort! I had a bacon-egg-cheese croissant and my hubby had a bacon frittata and both were excellent (sorry, hubs ate his so fast I didn't get a photo!).....everything looked SO good we also grabbed a couple of sandwiches and some cookies for later in the day.....they tasted even better than they looked, so much that it made me wish we lived in Lenexa! I literally wanted to stay a few days just so we could eat there again. The best part though was that the gal who works there was so nice and friendly, she helped with some local directions and a few baking tips to boot....if I did live there, I just know we'd be fast friends. :-) I would go out of my way to visit there again, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is even remotely close - you must try this place to believe it, but I warn you that you'll get hooked, LOL! read more

It's a pretty dangerous thing to discover an amazing bakery that is directly across the street from your gym...but I can't say it's the worst thing that's happened to me! The other day i had a great workout, mostly motivated by the idea of stopping at the Pantry afterword. I had a savory scallion and cheese scone, which was warm and so flavorful. I took home a chocolate gooey butter cake (rich chocolate crust and sweet gooey topping) and lemon poppyseed pound cake (moist and amazing fresh lemon taste). One of the owners chatted with me and offered some extra merengue samples to take home. I will definitely be going back to the pantry to try more of their creations. read more

If there is a good thing about COVID-19 it is that I am finally venturing to places that I have had bookmarked forever. I am so impressed with this bakery from the customer service to the last crumb of my scone. My little one really wanted a chocolate croissant for breakfast but they were not on the weekly menu so I asked if we could get a plain croissant (also not on the menu however a croissant sandwich was) and they were happy to oblige then I stuffed it with chocolate chips. The scones come in a two pack right now with sides of clotted cream. The traditional way of serving scones. I chose the lemon and currant scone. Filled with a natural lemon flavor and studded with lots of tiny dried currants. It was so delicious and just a hint of sweet with the crystalized sugar on top. The clotted cream was thick and spread nice. The breakfast burrito is massive. Filled with shredded potato, red pepper, cheese, egg and bacon. You can request no bacon if you would like. These are so big my husband had to eat in two attempts. He said hands down best breakfast burrito in KC because flavor was spot on and everything was so finely chopped inside. I can't wait to go back and try more offerings and shop their local offerings such as jams. They have an online store to ship goods and they do custom orders as well. Mmm everything was delicious! A couple friends and I decided to try The Pantry KC for an afternoon coffee and treat and will definitely be returning. The woman working out front was happy to explain all the different options for drinks, baked goods and other food items, and was very friendly and pleasant to chat with. She was also happy to check with the baker about nuts in the various items because I have a peanut allergy. We ended up with a scone, a banana walnut bread and (my personal favorite) a white chocolate and butterscotch blondie. I also had a tasty cold brew and my friend swears they have the best lemonade. The owner Deepal Patel is a very well trained pastry chef with a passion for the finest ingredient and you can taste it in every creamy, crispy, flakey luxurious bite. So much to choose from. This is within walking distance of my home. That's both good and bad. I think I'll eat more calories from there than I can burn off. I tried the cheese and chive scone. So good. My husband picked a lemon scone and a blueberry scone. We got a monkey bread to share. Everything was really good.
