So glad to have found this place on Yelp! The reviews were accurate. It's off the beaten path away from UF which is nice. We chose to order off the regular sandwich menu but I'm looking forward to checking out the breakfast sandwiches which are offered all day. I ordered regular #10 EdDaBevCrossover which is a cross between a Philly cheesesteak and French Dip. Oh M Yum! This was a great sandwich! The au jus that came with it was delicious as well. It was thicker than most au jus I've had in the past which was nice. My son ordered the #13 The Soprano which is a classic Italian sandwich. He chose to get it hot and pressed. This was a very good sandwich too! His exact words were "Mom, this is flavor town!" Lol! He definitely enjoyed it. We also got a side of the potato salad and macaroni salad. Both were good as well. We ate it all. The offer beer wine and sodas but be warned as the sodas are in bottles. They do not have a soda fountain. The wine and beer are also either in cans or bottles. It's definitely a good place to come and chill either inside or outside as they have a few tables out front. read more

We had eaten here a while ago but decided to try it again as I have seen a lot of advertisements lately. There were plenty of employees in there. And our service was quik an efficient . They were very friendly. My meatballs sub could have some more sauce. I'm not keen on a flat meatball sub. But it was tasty though. Wife enjoyed her sandwich. Definitely worth giving them a try Maybe you will find something that you like. The place definitely has some relaxing vibes to it. read more

Great food at a great price with relaxed clean atmosphere with really nice employees who are very helpful with suggestions to keep your taste buds happy ! This may end up becoming a regular stop for lunch on my roadtrips north...excited to return and try a new menu item! A wonderful little place with quality customer service and delicious sandwiches made with fresh ingredients! The variety on the menu is abundant and if you don't see one that suits you, you can always create your own! There's not a ton of seating inside, but the area is spaced well and doesn't feel crowded. Another favorite part was the staff who worked behind the counter. You could tel they were having fun and enjoying themselves, and there were quite a few regulars that came in who they knew by name and sandwich order. :) read more

Pretty good sandwiches, but so small for the price! Tried the Jamaican jerk chicken and the slim Turkey sandwich (I think #22 and 23?) and both were really tasty. My wife tried the #6 and enjoyed it as well. The only resounding theme was that although the sandwiches were tasty, and picking it up to go was a breeze, the sandwiches were way too small to cost ~$11-12. That being said, I'll try them out again for their quality. Just sparingly. The week I get paid. read more

I LOVE The Paper Bag Deli. Their food is extremely generous, portion-wise, and the taste is just out of this world! Richard, the owner, is such a likeable person, and you can tell that he genuinely cares about the food and customer service that he and his staff (excellent staff) provide. There is no other deli (sandwich restaurant) that even comes close in comparison here in Gainesville. Typically, you would only find this kind of food in a unique city, and I am so honored to have Richard and his restaurant here in our town! Now open on the UF campus!! When it comes to sandwiches, I'll eat them all day long. I am always in search of new and interesting sandwiches, hoagies, heroes, and subs. I gave The Paper Bag a try and I was not disappointed. The menu of this hidden gem had so many delicious-sounding sandwiches that I didn't know where to start. I finally settled on the Tre Way Jay: maple honey ham, burned pork ends, and thick-cut pork belly with American cheese, bourbon glaze, and pickled onions on an Italian hoagie. Let me tell you, this pleases the pork pallet: sweet, savory, crispy, and juicy. My friend ordered the Puff The Magic Dragon Toast (scrambled eggs, sliced fresh tomatoes, creamy avocado, and pesto on sourdough bread) and liked it as well. I'm looking forward to trying so many other things off their menu, which includes salads and breakfast items. I will be back soon for sure. read more

Overall: Good food with speedy service. Ambience: There is parking in front. I can't say much to the inside because I didn't eat inside, but it was clean and easy to find. Service: I called my order. I wish I would've told them to make my sandwiches in 20 minutes because they gave me an estimated time of 7 - 10 minutes but the drive to get there from my place was 20! Food: I got the Blue Lagoon and order the EvDaBev Crossover for my friend. I liked mine but it was underwhelming probably because it wasn't hot/warm when I started eating it. My friend liked the sandwich I got her. I wish the sandwiches came with a side though, but overall great food. So go support local! read more

Stopped in during a day trip with kids and friends and everyone enjoyed everything we ordered. The dads got Brooklyn bombers, moms ordered the crossover (Philly x French dip) and kids got grilled cheese and a breakfast sandwich. The au jus was super tasty. Service was quick and friendly. I've only been here twice and I've only tried one sandwich (the "EvDaBev Crossover" -- a combo take on Philly Cheese Steak and French Dip, which comes with au jus), but based on that limited experience, WOW is this place great! Great people, great service, great food. The meats, toppings, and bread are obviously fresh, the sandwiches are competently and attractively prepared, and they taste fantastic (at least the one variety I've tried). The "Godfather" sandwich up-size (they sell a smaller "regular") is about as much food as I can handle, and I'm a pretty big eater. You won't be leaving hungry. Or unsatisfied. read more

Wow! I saw on yelp that this was a "hot n new" restaurant and yelp was definitely right. Service is top notch here - I was greeted immediately and welcomed by the staff. I wasn't sure what to order so I ask the staff and they immediately jumped in and started recommending me options. I selected the Miss Piggy meets Foghorn Leghorn - a super delicious chicken with bacon and avocado creation in a pressed wrap. I had a side of pasta salad to accompany my wrap. Let me paint the picture. I got there hungry at 9:45am waiting till they open at 10am. People walk in right before I do. They order and we order. I didn't get my food till after that first group had fully finished their meal and drove off. I understand food can take some time but it sucks when you are hungry to watch several people that got there after I did walk in and then out with their food. read more

DIDN'T WANT IT TO END!!! Quality. I literally tasted every bite. This was my first time here and so happy I stopped in. I got the French Dip (forgot the real name). Man, was it killer! Had 2 sandwiches and water to drink. Bill was $ 33 for two sandwiches! Save your money and go the Publix. You can get a Boars Head sub that's big enough for two with double meat for S10,50. Sandwiches were good....but not worth the high prices. read more

Service is slow. Food is in tiny proportions. Workers work at a snails pace. It seems to be an inconvenience to be a customer here. Music that the employees are listening is inappropriate for the clientele. Don't need to hear the 'f' word every 9 seconds in a song while trying to eat an overpriced sandwich. I travel for work and usually pick a spot that looks interesting on Yelp for lunch. Holy cow, I am so glad I found this cute, fun deli! I ordered the "chef selection" for the day, which was difficult for me because you have to set aside all your control issues and just trust you'll like it (they don't tell you what's in it, even if you ask). Today it was Turkey, pesto and cheese pressed on a baguette, served warm. I think I ate the entire thing in 5 bites! Soooo good! The staff was fun and welcoming. Will be back for sure. read more

I can't say enough good things about The Paper Bag!The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, but the real star here is the food. The Soprano was an Italian sandwich with fresh sliced meats that was amazing. The TMNT was a perfect combination of flavors with the meats, cheese, sauce, all on top of a fresh warm pretzel bun with salt to complement it all. 4/5 star is due to the cost/portion each sandwich was $14 for the godfather which is the "large" however I would be curious what the regular $11 would look like for size.
