I have an event at 4 and when i walked in I showed the hairstylist the type of blowout i wanted and even brought my own clips. She seemed a bit confused so she asked another hairstylist and i thought it was miscommunication since it was speaking Spanglish and she only spoke Spanish. As she blew it out she didn't clip like i had requested and the second she had started on my hair i could tell she was either new or didn't really know what she was doing. At the end i was honest and told her i didn't like it and I'd have to redo it at home. It was very frizzy and didn't have a shap. But he gave me the worst cut I had in years last time and didn't even apologize (that was the dealbreaker for me)......after I tipped him 25-30% for years. Screwing things up happens, but then own it and apologize dude. A beard trim is $30 and a haircut is $40 which is fair for a good barber, but the overall shop experience is really unprofessional. The staff is loud and unfriendly, not greeting after I went there for 10 years. An overwhelmed speaker system blasts bad 90s rap and other random dated music. Combined with the yelling of the staff it's like acoustic water boarding. So I'll take the $900 I spend on a barber a year somewhere else. If you are looking for time travel to the past, bad customer service and lousy music, then this place is right for you. If not ...there are a ton of cooler, better options within a mile radius. Lynn was great about it and took things in steps, not over-killing it the first time. It looked great afterward, and I waited until the day after to write this review to make sure it still looked good the day after. (That's always the test, right?) Yep, super easy to work with this morning and still looked great. Perfect experience. And yes, still only $12. It's easy to tip big when a haircut only costs $12 and service is top notch. I made an appt ahead of time and got there a few min early - so she started a few min early as I was the first appt of the day. I was probably in the chair for 30 min as we talked through managing the rats' nest on top of my head. I'd say that's a long time for a guy's haircut. Only $12 for 30 min of quality haircut? I'll be back for sure. Oh, and even if you're only spending $12, credit card is still accepted (with a line to tip if desired).
