Cute little place inside if you're dining in, I was take out so I can't comment on service. For the pizza, I like a nice brick oven thin crust pie, but there is thin and then there is ridiculously thin. The crust around the edges had no risen dough, no air bubbles, nothing but a thin as cardboard hard crunch. Not burnt, just hard. Next, the lack of any decent amount of cheese was noticeable. No melty strings of mozz with each bite here. Only plus was fresh mushrooms over the rubber canned stuff you get some places. Thereby the 2 stars. I don't know what everyone sees is so good about this place or maybe I just caught them on an off night. Ever since Salerno's in Stratford and Franco's in Milford closed, the ONLY good pizza is in New Haven now. read more

We found this place on yelp last night and decided to try it because they had vegan options and my boyfriend is mostly vegan. It was a nicely decorated place with a modern vibe. The staff was responsive and helpful, service was good. The "magic mushroom" pizza (vegan) was DELECTABLE, even for me (non-vegan). It was the right mix of creamy, crunchy, and savory, with the truffle oil adding a special touch. Next we had the Caesar salad which was decent but nothing to write home about. We ordered the cauliflower wings with buffalo sauce and they left 4 without sauce so we could also try the honey truffle sauce (a sweet winner!). They were the right amount of crispy and savory. We ended our meal with the fried Oreos, which we really enjoyed as it reminded us of chocolate filled zeppole. We have to come back with the kids because they would love it too. They have make your own pizza options so you could make it anywhere from meat lovers to vegan. I'd definitely go back just for that magic mushroom even though it's 45 minutes away. read more

Pizza is great. However at 5:00 my boyfriend and I walked into who I assume is the owner ridiculing and swearing at his workers. I have never wanted to write "do you need help" more to someone on a receipt because all the girls looked like they were gonna cry. I am honestly disgusted and will not be coming back. I will start off by saying the pizza was delicious but the service was unpleasant . I placed an order for pick up and there was zero engagement by the staff to the point where it was uncomfortable for me. The woman who rang me out did not say hello, goodbye, or thank you when I left a cash tip. I awkwardly took my pizza and left without one of the 3 staff members saying a word to me. Hands down the best restaurant I've eaten at in CT. The owners and staff are some of the nicest people and the food is unbelievably good. It is a great atmosphere and has a small town feel while delivering a high quality meal that you'd expect from a big city. There are a variety of vegan options, and they are always willing to customize an order for allergies/food sensitivities. Overrated. I made a huge mistake stopping here, it was so disappointing. How anyone can destroy a simple cheese pizza is beyond me but it was accomplished. Bottom of crust was nearly black. The crust was thin but it was also soggy at the same time. ! A teaspoon of cheese and also of sauce on top. Dry ,tasteless, probably the very worst pizza I have ever had in my 77 years! The 2 men behind the counter both had attitudes. The one with the leg tattoos was bordering on surly, he wanted the money but did not want to do anything for it. Too bad ,too sad. This is life. I was not there for my health, I was there for food and was willing to pay for it. Nothing in life is free.If you want money, then you have to work for it. First time I came here - great customer service and quick turn around time, picked up 2 vegan pies, tasted great. Second time I came here: I was treated with rudeness and disrespect. I ordered pick up on a Friday night and was told by the staff member who picked up phone that the wait would be about an hour, I explicitly asked on phone if it would be more than an hour (because I had a ferry to catch) and she told me no. I came within 55 minutes and a different staff member (not sure if it was an owner or manager) who rudely and falsely stated I was 20 minutes early and questioned whether I had actually placed my order about an hour ago. He also said they said "at least an hour" and that's not what I was told - I was told that it would be no more than an hour. He checked and I was right about when I placed order but it was just being prepared so I asked if I could cancel because I was going to miss my ferry if I waited for the pizza and he said yes. I really liked the pizza here but not sure if I will be coming back given the rude customer service I experienced. read more

My daughter brought me here as a Mother's day gift/dinner. I ordered a bacon and eggplant pie which was the best pizza I've ever had! My daughter ordered the VLT vegan pizza and raved about it. We sat at the bar, had a drink and watched the pizza being made. Never had an issue with the food. But recently had an awful experience where I was told to never order from them again. Given complete attitude and no respect for the situation at all. For context: last week I ordered a personal pizza, yes just one I am 9 months pregnant and was very hungry and thought this would be a quick option. However since I ordered via Uber eats there was a massive delay where the estimated time for arrival was changed 4 times and we were beyond a two hour mark for one pizza. So I contacted Uber and said I didn't want the order anymore because it was taking too long. They informed me they couldn't refund me because the order was placed and they had already paid the restaurant and I said fine. Today I went to place an order on Uber eats again and then immediately remembered how awful my last experience with Uber eats was so I cancelled through Uber and called the restaurant immediately to tell them yes I placed an order on Uber but I was going to pick it up in person. Uber charged me for the entire order stating that they already paid the restaurant because the order was accepted before I cancelled. Which is fine the restaurant did not make the order twice as I notified them immediately and I had already paid them (screenshot below). When my boyfriend arrived at the restaurant they were incredibly rude and said not to order from them ever again and made it seem as if we were trying to get free food somehow. Meanwhile both times the restaurant was paid except one time I didn't even get food! I don't understand the problem.. you were paid for the food and your time. My boyfriend then being as nice as he is said hey I don't mind paying you again if for some reason you think you're not going to get paid by Uber even tho we were told by Uber they were in fact paid. Instead of having a conversation about it they replied just take the pizza and don't order from here again. And that's how you lose business. Especially as a small business... good luck with that attitude. We used to order from here every week and recommended to others...but I guess they don't care about loyal customers either. read more

We heard about this place from some friends. We wanted to try it out because well we love pizza. We were gonna get new haven pizza but went for this. The place was cute inside. We had ordered take out. We got three pizzas; the loaded baked potato, plain mozzarella pizza, and the Buffalo chicken. The dough was ok. It needs salt, badly. The crust was cooked decently. The cheese tasted like nothing, tasted cheap and didn't have enough on it. The loaded baked potato was just ok as well. The best was the Buffalo chicken, but could have used more blue cheese. The Buffalo sauce over powered the pizza. This place was by far better then any pizza place we have tried in our area of CT northeast...Tolland County. But not near as good as New Haven pizza. The customer service was great, but won't be back there again. read more

The best pizza in CT I have had! The big names like Sally's and Frank Pepes are good but expect to wait in lines and get cold pizza. This place knocks it out every time. Fresh ingredients and great crust. Bonus- salads are great with homemade dressings. Staff is very friendly and feels like your local watering hole. Know most people's orders before they ask. Everything was Amazing! We started with the cauliflower wings with vegan ranch and the BBQ sauce. They were the best we have ever had! Perfectly crispy and light! The vegan ranch was delicious. Then the pizza! Sooo good! I had the vegan cherry bomb and added the vegan meatballs on half. Unbelievably delicious with and without the meatballs. My husband had the O'C which was amazing. Medium thin and far from being soggy. They also offer vegan items including a few non dairy cheeses if you desire for your pizza. Try the deep fried cauliflower. Crunchy and fresh as in all their ingrediants. The service there is very accommodating and as good as it gets. They did a great job with the restaurant decor, they have a bar and I was very impressed with the music. For desert, we tried the deep fried orioles and chocolate chip cookie sandwich with gelato also awesome. I am a vegan visiting from San Francisco and I wanted to try the famous New Haven style pizza in this area. I'm happy to have found this place--as their vegan menu was quite extensive. Ordered the BBQ chick'n & mushroom pizzas and they were both delicious. I really enjoyed the thin & crispy crust, decent tasting vegan cheese.
