I ordered a large salad and the Fancesca's Special for delivery. I was very disappointed with both. The large salad was $10 and I only got one slice of cucumber and one half of a cherry tomato! We moved to Shelton at the end of 2021 and tried Antonio's very soon after our move. We love the pizza - reasonably priced and very good. Crust is a little chewy and a little crunchy; the crust also has a nice flavor all by itself. Our favorite is the deluxe vegetable but usually get plain cheese too! read more

I was in the mood for pizza, so I headed to the yelposphere to see what was in the area. They had unique pizza topping choices such as shrimp and clams. They also had great reviews, But they were kind of pricey. The total before tip was about 40 bucks for a medium pizza, wings and fried mozzarella. The fried mozzarella is more like Jumbo mozzarella sticks with a side of sauce. Everything was really good. The pizza crust was thin but it was delicious and had the perfect amount of chew and char on it. The wings were really good as well. The only thing that I wasn't happy about is they didn't have garlic parm as a wing choice, but they were still good so I wont complain. overall they had great service, and great food so I would definitely go back. read more

Ordered the chicken bbq large pizza, veggie large, and vegeterian small. FYI this is more of a thin crust style pizza. The pizza could definitely be better - in terms of visual aesthetics, for the chicken pizza, the cheese was not evenly placed, so there were some slices with no cheese while others had cheese and similar to the chicken. The bbq sauce did not taste great. The veggie pizza was okay, but they put kalamatta olives, which gives the pizza a very salty/sour taste. This is DEFINITELY a thin crust pizza, as the menu states. Whomever made the pies tonight must have worked in New Haven - the crust was thin, crispy, tasty and FANTASTIC! I used "Slice" and the order was not ready on time when the app said it would be ready. The place was super busy (most places are closed on Monday, so kudos for them being open). The owner and young ladies at the counter were apologetic. The learning here for me is to call directly and not use the app. I've been here many times, and the results have varied (but always acceptable). I used to frequent this restaurant very often because of their $5 lunch specials, which were usually a good bang for your buck. My job also orders from here on a weekly basis, putting a good 12+ person order of lunch specials. A few days ago we put together an order and even read it back to them before hanging up the phone. After picking it up, I heard that two people received the wrong order. The person who placed the order called back and was hoping they would at least fix one of the orders and the female on the other side of the phone responded with; "okay, so, what do you want me to do about it?". Not a even a sorry. We shrugged it off saying we would no longer be ordering from them anymore and dealt with it. Since the start of Covid, lunch specials have increased to $6 and they also have become quite skimpy and all around, less of what they used to be. They've clearly been raised prices while simultaneously cutting costs and quality of the food in order to increase profit. I opened my #3, meatball parm and to my surprise the first four inches of it were just bread and no meatball at all. The other end was super dry and didn't have meat sauce or meatball either. There was one middle clump that had meatballs like I'm used to seeing throughout the sub, and sauce was barely brushed on this entire thing. Okay, so I'm told this is the best pizza in town. My NYC self was disappointed. Such is life when one is used to NYC pizza (or rather spoiled) - you know the real deal. However, they receive an A for effort. Plus, word of mouth states Antonio's is the best pizza in town. Though I was not impressed with the pizza, the wings were a stand out menu item for me. Well I haven't actually had the opportunity to order from this establishment. I was looking forward to doing so, but I was saddened by the misrepresentation of the order of wings. I thought maybe you get 6-8 pieces wings for $10.95 (since that's what I seen in a picture here on yelp) But when I called to order, I was told you only get 5 wings for $10.95. We ordered pizza for delivery on Friday night about 5pm. They said it was going to be 45 to 60 minutes. That was fine because it was on a prime night and time. The pizzas were delivered in about 30 minutes. The delivery guy was very nice and the pizza was hot. I'm not big into getting delivery because the food is never hot. Antonio's recently moved from across the street. They still make great pizza and have a very helpful and friendly staff. The pizza style is what we call "boardwalk" pizza from the jersey shore. Thin but not cracker crust with a sweet sauce and plenty of cheese. My only quibble is that I wish they had an online ordering option, whether their own or thru GrubHub. I love their food, but often wind up ordering from somewhere else because it's easier. read more

I've been ordering from Antonio's for awhile now and it's always been great. Delivery and pick up. We love their garlic knots. Service has always been great. But the other night there was a bit of confusion when I placed my pick up order. When I arrived she repeated my order to me and I corrected her (I don't know her name, petite dark haired girl) I had ordered a cheese pizza half with pepperoni and mushrooms. It was made whole with pepperoni and mushrooms. I honestly didn't know what to say and I don't think she did either. I offered to look at it to see if I could pick off the mushrooms and everyone behind the counter agreed I wouldn't be able to cause it was all cooked into the cheese. we called in to order LUNCH at 11:30 am asked for 2 chicken parm,1 penne alla vodka and 2 linguine alla gamberetti for pickup. We show up to pick up our order and the same idiot that other people have complained about that screwed up their order as well, must be related to owner or she would be long gone. Out of all the orders the only one was ready and was for 2 chicken DINNERS NOT LUNCHES as ordered at $14.99 instead of $4.99 lunch special price and no other orders because the other three are not on the DINNER menu only the LUNCH menu. This place truly is a gem! I passed this many times not knowing it's there cause it's sort of hidden but they have the best pizza. Antonio and Etta are the owners, they are wonderful and their waitresses are wonderful. they have takeout they have delivery and you can eat in. They also have pizza trucks for events and their pizza is phenomenal. I don't know what kind of garlic they use but it is awesome and people rave about the broccoli rabe. They also rave about the chicken marsala and I bought the stuff shells for somebody. They thought that the shells were wonderful! This is an awesome, awesome place. Got home the order was wrong they said they make it right come back in 20-25 minutes showed in 25 minutes they hadn't even started making the the sandwich. Ordered two grinders picked them up and went home. Wow! They were so small and cost $8+. Not only are they extremely short but my can of soda was thicker then the meatball parm grinder. The grinder had only 3 meatballs. $8 for bread, 3 meatballs, very little sauce and cheese. They couldn't fit more then that on the roll if they tried. I think we'll be ordering from somewhere else. The food is good but we are in the middle of a romaine lettuce recall here, helloo. The staff told me the salad was made with "mixed greens", this is straight up romaine. When I called back to complain they told me they "wash it really well". The CDC has warned all of America NOT to eat romaine lettuce and that warning is still in effect. This restaurant should not be serving romaine lettuce, additionally they should know that and have better customer service. read more
