This is a review of an old favorite here and feel bad we never gave them proper credit. The four of us started with the most awesome, creamy spinach artichoke dip we've had in a long time. Served with chips and bread, it started us off properly. The deviled eggs were good but had a bit too strong of a mustard taste. For dinner we all split Mac-and-cheese with a side of pulled pork and BBQ sauce. Our daughter said it was one of the best she's had in a long time! We also split a Don Ho pizza - it was a visual masterpiece with a like rating on the taste. Somehow the crust wasn't thin but was crunchy. And I can't not talk about the barrel-aged Manhattan with Antica vermouth enough....but I had to have 2!! Lastly, our waitress was sweet, bubbly and attentive. And the vibe in the place is fire with the classic wood feel and 3-stooges movies playing on the wall. Going back VERY soon and often. Thank you all for such a great experience! read more

Very good food and drinks! Happy hour is from 4-7 and half off drinks and 25% off food. Great service and people. Atmosphere is spot on when I'd come to very inviting and sorta rustic looking. Only one complaint, which has nothing to do with the service OR the quality of food. The projector and the tv in the corner needs to have some updated stuff as in sports or ANYTHING! Maybe it's the cliche your putting on or something then I totally get it. But I'd replace the sheet with a big TV and make it happen! Just my opinion but AGAIN, everything else is awesome about this place. These are just my opinions so I'd say try it for yourself. This place is so great, we stopped by twice! Came to the area with my girlfriends for a nice weekend away. This was our first stop when we came into town. Super cool atmosphere. Rustic and vintage feel. They have THREE bars, which is a win in my book. Mixed seating, some tables, chairs, couches, lounge areas. I tried one of the water infused cocktails in cucumber. Delicious! So tasty. We like it so much, we stopped by again later in the night for a little snack and a night cap. Highly recommend this place for a cocktail and conversation. What a neat spot!!! Super cute spot for a date night or a nice dinner out. There is a variety of seating options and fun outside games on the wrap around porch outside. The best part of this spot is that they have happy hour until 7pm on craft cocktails and whoa are they fancy and DELICIOUS! I had the Chamberlains Breakfast (bourbon, coffee liqueur, bitters, torched cinnamon stick topped with coffee grounds) and the strawberry basil lemonade and vodka. Whoa. These both were SO good. This review is for the happy hour. I am not sure if I'd go the full five stars for the regular prices, but at happy hour rates is a home run. The sake cocktail was a favorite at my table, in the only one that ordered it but everyone who sipped it wish they got it. The smoke stack was also beloved and is great for cold weather. The pizzas were tasty. Audrey Hepburn is as spicy as it sounds. The Bob Marley is a great bbq pizza that is much more subtle than the typical 'pour the barbecue sauce on' style. Spinach artichoke dip was also a crowd favorite although I like more spinach in my dip personally. Chicken spring rolls were crunchy and delicious but pretty small, which is best if it's one among many dishes being shared. We asked for the football game to be turned on and they were great about it. We would've understood if they couldn't oblige, but was happy they did. The place was packed and it was super hot inside, and again management was great about adjusting the thermostat when we (and our sever agreed) said it was uncomfortably hot. Can't wait to return. The live music was fun and I'd love to see more. read more

Our favorite place we tried in Traverse. Superb old school cocktails, delicious small plates. Cozy atmosphere, very cool prohibition/club type decor in historic building. Our waiter was obviously overwhelmed and while I understand they were busy and likely short staffed, that doesn't excuse us having to ask for water four times and waiting 45 minutes for our bill. The food tastes like someone just microwaved it from the frozen food aisle and yet it took over an hour to arrive. No bitters, a giant orange slice instead of an expressed peel and the bottom was all cherry juice. Not sure what whiskey that was but completely undrinkable. Rude young waitress, said they have a st pattys day buffet, but when you go up for seconds they say the buffet is just one round. Waitress was rude and made it seem like she was doing us a favor by letting us grab dessert which is all we wanted on the second round. Not sure her name but young blonde server by the buffet was extremely rude to paying and good tipping customers will not be returning. Also do no call something a buffet and then don't allow people to serve themselves (they put the food on your plate, however much they decide) and then not allow seconds. 15 bucks for a plate of food of the servers choice? When my husband said we were going to a place called The Parlor for happy hour, I didn't really have any expectations. However, when we walked in the door, I was immediately taken with the place. The atmosphere - the lighting, the furniture, the decor, the music - was absolutely perfect. (So much so that I actually am writing my very first review ever, for this place.) We sat at the bar and each got a drink, and we shared the mac and cheese. It was to die for. And the bartender was super nice and attentive. The icing on the cake was that they had O Brother Where Art Thou playing on loop in black & white on the TV near the bar. This place speaks my language, and I can't wait to visit Traverse City again - just to visit The Parlor! Just charming. read more

I really wanted to like this place but the customer service from our server just killed it. We came in here not knowing it was half off wine night, and was ecstatic. The vibes and decor of the place was great. Our server took our order and brought out our drinks fairly fast. The only thing was that she kept forgetting things like our glass of water and cup of ice. We reminded we her over five times and she continued to forget. The same thing happened when our food came out and she forgot condiments we been asking for. After we almost finished she then asked if we still wanted it our side and we replied yes. She proceeded with an eye roll and things just got awkward after. The vibes here were great. The drinks you could never go wrong with. The food wasn't great.
