I recently purchased wheels and hubcaps as a set for my 69 Cutlass. As is identified in their product description the wheels will need to be painted to match the body color of the car. I had mine powder coated, tires mounted and put the wheels and hubcaps on my car. I drove nearly 50 yards when I heard the first hubcap fall off and role. Over the course of a half mile I had three of the four hubcaps come of the car. I manually removed the fourth hubcap to save it from the road rash associated with coming off the car. Obviously the hubcaps do not fasten securely to the wheels as intended and in a manner as to function properly. I contacted The Parts Place to request a full refund in accordance with their refund policy of 30 days. They are saying that because I had the wheels powder coated, they will not refund my money stating they can not resell the wheels. Keep in mind their site description states that the customer must paint the wheels to match the car for which the wheels are purchased. It only makes sense that I would print the wheels. I had a professional group powder coat the wheels and they are beautiful. However, the wheels and hubcaps do not function properly with or without paint. The parts are defective and should not be resold. They should remove this item from their sales sites until the issue is fixed. But they will likely keep on selling while totally disregarding what is a known defect and keep the customers money if they decide to return the product as I have decided to do. This is not good business and I believe in violation of basic customer rights. I plan to seek legal council in the event I do not hear from them granting my request for a full refund within the next 10 days. There are several places to buy parts for your classic car. The Parts Place is the worst place I have ever dealt with and I will not source any more products from them. read more

10-17-2022 my mistake for not doing a yelp search on this business. bought some exhaust gaskets from their amazon page at 18 bucks a piece, and on their website they charge only 9 bucks for the same item....but....they will only sell you an online item if you spend 25 bucks. so nothing under 25 bucks caust they wont deal with it. that should have been the first clue how this poor american company works (lack of customer service) i get the gaskets which were shipped in a paper envelope...yea they came damaged, and they said steel gaskets yet i got the cheap india made graphite gaskets. so im doing the return process now. i called and talked with an old man (joe the owner of the company) that clearly hates people and does not care about returns or refunds customer have. another company added to the list of never spending my money at. a LOOK AT PHOTOS SELLING "STEEL" GASKETS YET YOU GET "GRAPHITE" INSTEAD.....their big block exhaust flange gasket is a walker exhaust part number Walker Exhaust 31500 about $2.50 on amazon. they sell it for $9 bucks and $18 bucks on amazon. a true money hungry company. this is an american company i hope that fails. read more

I ordered several hundred dollars in parts from this business in Jan. 2023. Nothing I ordered had an indication that it was not in stock. I was notified a day or so later that out of the 7 items I ordered, only 3 were in stock. Two of the items listed as back ordered was inner fender for my 1963 Impala. These two items arrived on March 6th and one of the inner fenders was scratched, dented, and had rust in some of the deep scratches. It also had a sticker on it dated 2013. When I called to complain about them sending me a 10-year-old scratched and dented fender, an older-sounding man told me that it had probably been laying around for a long time and that I should sand and paint the part. I paid for a new fender, not one that I have to sand to the metal and fix a bunch of dents before I can use it. They admitted that the picture I sent them looked bad, and said they would give some store credit on my next order from them. That will never happen! read more

Seriously, After I posted a negative review about TPP ( The Parts Place). I was asked to call one of their representatives and all I got from two of their employees nothing but yelling and poor customer service. Rather then resolve the problem they created. To add insult to injury their employee posted our invoices on social media. Which, in my view is highly unprofessional and the phots clearly show our last name, City of residence and all the costs we paid for the products. I am sure that this typical behavior when they are unhappy with a negative review. Also within a few days I received a letter from an attorney asking me to review my reviews from Yelp and my social media and that TPP would consider filing a claim with the shipper on our behalf. It included a statement that I could face legal action. Really, I thought the purpose for YELP was to give an honest review of your experience. I have documentation of every phone call and documents and I will not be silenced. Everyone has a right to voice their factual experiences Anyone that reads this can make you own choices to deal with this company. It maybe you have a better experience. But I know I refuse to deal with a company that not only allows their staff to insult you and yell at you. But go out of their way to try to threaten you because you give them a bad review and post your private confidential invoice. I have purchased a few parts from this place. The parts are good and I usually receive them quick. I recently ordered some more parts and one of them has not arrived. I called and talked to "Van" a grumpy man that didn't really want to help me. He said he couldn't tell me when it would arrive because the manufacturer sends that part. It was already 2 weeks since I was sent the shipping confirmation email without a tracking number. I told him I would give it another week before I would claim a dispute with my bank card. He told me to go blame China because of this COVID-19 virus. I asked to speak to his manager and he said no one else was available. When the part got here it was missing an important piece, now the vehicle is tying up our rack and COSTING US MONEY... When I called to retrieve the part THEY FORGOT TO PUT IN THE KIT, THEY. They told me they wouldn't ship it over night and I would have to pay overnight shipping to get it next day, even though we purchased this product from them and THEY ARE NOW COSTING US MONEY, and a lot more than it would cost them to ship it overnight.. I have purchased a few parts from here and they have been great, however I purchased all my weather striping from them. when installing I found the rear roll down window exterior window felt didn't fit.. not even close. I called them and was told they get them from PUI and that's how they are made, so nothing they can do. Then I started reading reviews and have found threads all the way back to 2011 where people bought from this place and had the same issue and several from 2011 to now with same concern. Buyers beware! The Parts Place has the worst customer service I have ever experienced! Purchased over $2K in body parts that were damaged. Report damage to The Parts Place customer service and they never even said sorry, only "too bad you signed it's yours now call trucking company" even though it states nowhere on invoice when purchased to keep truck driver there and open and inspect everything before you sign, there is only a small sticker on package so do not have a family member sign stating it was delivered. The Parts Place had shipped all the body panels standing on end of the boxes that had large arrows printed on all four sides of boxes pointing this side up to prevent damage and poly wrapped them with black poly so you can't see through to the boxes placed wrong on a skid. The Parts Place does not even know how to correctly package to prevent damage and will not acknowledge that mistake either. I did filed a damage claim with trucking company and they also denied any wrong doing so I called The Parts Place back and again was told too bad you signed for it, (very unfriendly) it's your problem and you will now have to eat the costs to purchase another $700 plus shipping part. Please save yourself a huge headache, lots of money and purchase from a replicable business that will work with you and not rip you off! read more

Ordered parts to convert from automatic to stick shift. Most parts good so far. Had to dial indicate bell housing for TREMEC trans, requiring the bell housing bolts to be torqued multiple times when moving bell housing. Bolts stretched after 3 times. Used leftover Grade 5 bolts from my junk bin, torqued 20 times more, still working. Contacted for refund, and sent photo of obviously stretched bolt, told me there are one time use, they will make me return junk bolts, shipping is more than they are worth. Just be careful on hardware. Very leery of using clutch pressure plate bolts.. read more

Very unsatisfied with The Parts Place! Purchased left and right front brake calipers for my 1967 Camaro. Five months later with about 50 miles put on the car I discovered a pool of brake fluid under my front wheel due to the caliper seals leaking. Checked the other wheel and found a smaller leak. After a lot of back and forth with this company I was able to ship them off for inspection at my expense and about 6 weeks later I finally received a new set. I installed the new calipers and again about 9 months later I found a pool of brake fluid under a wheel. Inspected the other and found it also leaking at the seals. Contacted customer service expecting to return these under warranty for another pair even though I wasn't sure I wanted to install a third set with the quality being what it proved to be. I was told the warranty is good for 1 year from date of purchase. I understand that, but I received this new set 9 months ago and expected them to be under warranty for a year. The customer service representative then said with that thought what would stop someone from taking them off every 9 months and returning them for new ones. Dumb thing to say and was said by someone who obviously doesn't work on cars. Who would remove perfectly working brake calipers every 9 months to get new ones, especially on a car driven about 200-300 miles a year?? Besides, they are inspected by the manufacturer to ensure proper fluid was used and the install wasn't done incorrectly before replacing. He then told me I could buy another set. The warranty on these junk parts wasn't honored. Customer service lacked professionalism and common sense, and the person I dealt with was rude. I highly recommend no one purchase anything from this company!! Spend your money elsewhere!! read more

I spent a couple hundred on parts. I ordered a transmission seal kit for my car. They sent the wrong seals and wouldn't pay for shipping to return the wrong seals they sent. So I ate it and ordered the right seals from them. I waited.... No response after four days. So I emailed them and they said they were backordered four more days. So they finally ship them so I wait another week and they finally arrived! I open the package up and they only sent one axle seal??? Who sends one axle seal for a front wheel drive car? So now I sent another email and still waiting.... My car has been torn apart in my driveway for three weeks now. Do not order parts here ever! So, I placed an order online, since I didn't receive tracking info for a day or two and realized I need another part, I called in and was told that the package wasn't shipped yet and that the item can be added. So far so good. Another day or two later no shipping info and a need for another part came up. So, I called in again and was told again that the package hasn't been shipped yet and that the part can be added. Not good this time! A few days later I received two boxes. The first one contained the parts of the original order plus the first addition. The second box contained the second addition with the invoice showing that I was charged the shipping. So, I called in and explained what happened and that if I was told that additions can not be made I wouldn't have ordered the additional items. I explained that I understand the salesperson could've missed the first package already having been shipped, but that in this case I should have been contacted and given the choice of whether I wanted to pay for second shipping. I would have opted for holding off since the added part wasn't immediately needed and I wouldn't want to waste money on a second shipping charge. They made the decision to ship and charge me without my consent! I asked for a refund of the second shipping charge and they refused. The worst, repeat the worst company to ever buy classic car parts from. Bought a hood tach for my GTO from the parts place on ebay thinking i was still dealing with a legit company. Boy was i wrong , both the ebay store and the main store have the same awful customer service. The box shipped out was delivered mid March during Covid19. Everything was slowed down due to the virus , mechanics were backed up and all work was slowed right down, By the time the tach was tested it was past its window for returns so be ware..they will not except any returns. No refunds. No exchange. No store credit.nothing but a kick in the arse. Also claimed that because i admitted to testing the tach by hooking it up, that this too voided my warranty! They`re shitty hood tach cost me over $350 CAD. It does not work right , the needle is jumping all around like a chicken with its head cut off. Absolute junk. I have a factory hood tach that works just fine on my car. They say its my Pretonix ignition thats making their tach malfunction. I asked why does my original tach work just fine with my ignition and they have no answer. Their response..spend more money on a 10k half watt resister. Did that and still not working. Their response..buy another adapter.I asked what happens when it doesn`t work?...Their response was buy another and keep doing that until you find a way to make their shitty tach work..No thanks, i`m done with companys like this. Not really impressed. The Parts Place on Ebay offered trunk weatherstripping for my car (a 1976 Concourse) and I ordered it for $30. But when it arrived it was not remotely like the stock weatherstripping on the car. After a few emails I was asked to return it for a refund. Mailing it back cost $10, and then I was only credited $25. So from my original outlay of $30, I only got $15 back. I bought a GTO Judge package from thepartsplaceinc.com, which included the Judge spoiler, sticker kit and glove box emblem. When I opened the box, the spoiler was cracked at the corners. The box it was shipped in was not damaged, but the spoiler was not wrapped enough and had been banging around in the box for who knows how long. I followed up with thepartsplaceinc.com and they told me to take it to a local body shop to get it fixed and they will reimburse me the money. I attended 3 body shops, and the cheapest I could get the spoiler fixed was 2 hours at $75 an hour. I went back home and told them the cost, which they told me to go ahead and get it fixed. I got it fixed, paid the bill, and emailed a copy of the bill to thepartsplaceinc.com for them to forward me the money. I got a reply saying that they will only give me $75 of the $150 because if they reinburse me the complete amount they will be losing money. I denied the $75 and escalated a complaint with ebay. Ebay sided with me, and Ebay footed the bill for the repair. The complaint was closed in my favour. BEWARE for low quality parts and liars from them. Purchase as listed new bumper from the parts place inc , said bumpers chrome was better than original. chrome was excellent, but was not new, holes were reemed out to except taillights, and dents pounded out in 4 locations sent them pictures. They said if you don't want it send it back, that's all. I ordered a car cover for my SSR. We have had it on the car for one month. A rip in a perfect square was on top of the cover when we went to use it , it just pulled away. We didn't yank tug or nothing hit the car. We just turned it down, takes 2, and heard a rip unrolled it and there was the square. We contacted the company and the response was,"Good Afternoon, I am sorry to see that. I spoke with my manager and there is nothing that we can do.
