We had such a wonderful experience at Mcguiggan's Patio for Easter brunch. I brought my elderly grandmother, and the staff went truly above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable. They were so kind, patient, and attentive, especially noticing her mobility challenges without us even needing to ask. I enjoyed my experience at The Patio at McGuiggan's in Whitman would give a 3.5 stars, but the server makes it a 4 rather than a 3. The service by Heather L was excellent, she was very attentive and made sure everything was to our standards. I love the modern look and feel of the place, though it is much nicer in the summer when the weather is good and large windows open to the street. We ordered a Chicken Marsala and Buffalo Chicken Flat Bread Pizza. The Marsala flavor was fantastic and fragrant and the chicken was cooked perfect. I asked for extra mushrooms and still could have used a little more. The Buffalo Chicken Flat Bread was nothing special. Chicken and crust were a little dry and it was pretty hot, but overall it was average. The Patio Nachos, though not pictured, deserve an A+++ as a solid appetizer for 2 with great flavors. My only qualm was the steep price of $7.25 for a Heineken 0.0, which felt a bit extravagant. Despite this, I would still recommend the place. read more

Disappointing. I came here with my husband for lunch. The place itself is lovely; high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, brick walls. Lots of tvs under a large and long bar. A good place to grab a beer and watch a game. My husband ordered a burger, medium-rare and I got the kogi chicken wings. The burger was cooked much past medium-rare. My chicken wings were burned and tasted as such. The kogi sauce didn't taste like anything and was shockingly bland. My husband agreed when he tried a wing. The best part of our entire lunch were the fries that came with my husband's burger. They were delicious and you could tell they were hand-cut from real potatoes. This goes a long way in my book!! However, the rest of the food left a lot to be desired. I would recommend coming here to grab a drink and watch a game, but your best bet is to eat elsewhere... read more

First, I will preface my review by saying this: Friday afternoon visit, lunch time. Lots of open space and less than 10 customers. Have been in the service industry for many years. 1. Sat at the bar to order lunch. Quickly greeted, and my soda and menu were there fast. 1. Looked over the menu. Bartender was more interested in cutting limes than taking my order, had to flag her down. 3. Ordered their fish sandwich. Took 30 minutes (again, even less than 10 people at this point) 4. I observed my fries to be wilty, lifeless, and room temp, which instantly told me they were sitting "somewhere" for a while. 5. Fish was much smaller than the STALE bun they served it on with wilty lettuce. I knew instantly the bun was stale because the tried to cover it up by "lightly toasting the bread". As soon as I tried to get a grip on it, it instantly fell apart...a tell tale sign. 6. Tasted a few fries and ate 1/4 of the sandwich and abruptly pushed it away. I flagged down the second person behind the bar to alert him to the very poor quality of food before me. I paid for my soda and gave them a tip just to get the hell out of there. Now I generally don't leave bad reviews but I will say this...please if you are the owner of this establishment or you even work there.... take this review with some grace and improve the customer experience! I went to this location last night with my 2 daughters. I heard some great things about this location. So I rushed over to get find out for myself. I ordered my go to drink the Bigg Daddy O ( Tito's, peach schnapps and pineapple juice). I grabbed the Patio Sampler Platter. Waited about 25 minutes for the appetizers. The platter came out extremely crispy/well done. I didn't order the platter well done. The sampler was okay, nothing special. Maybe because it's was over cooked. (Never order a burger well done anywhere, this is a no no) the burger came out dry and burnt. Great atmosphere & staff. Unfortunately I just paid $25 for a take out basic salad with mediocre unmarinated grilled chicken. Is fresh romaine lettuce & 5 small cubes of feta worth $25? The ambiance is that of a university cafeteria with high ceilings and an industrial steel look making it difficult to engage in conversation with sound carrying from everyone in the room-it was like being able to hear everything but nothing at all. We were greeted and seated quickly but waited almost 10 minutes before a server came to the table and took our drink order which 2 draft beers took another 7 minutes to arrive. Finally we got our drinks and placed our food order, chicken and biscuits and the fig and goat cheese flatbread. NOT GOOD. The chicken and biscuits were edible but very dry; the flatbread was awful. The menu description said figs but it was a compote, not actual figs, making it sweet on sweet on sweet. Even the flatbread had a sweetness making it impossible to eat a dessert like pizza having tasted like fried dough instead of a savory meal I was anticipating; even the arugula was off-it looked fresh but tasted bitter like dandelion greens. Our server did take the flatbread off the bill but service was lacking and slow; she never came to check on us after someone else brought out the food aside from rushing bye saying "oh good you guys got everything" though it wasn't super busy at 3:30 pm on Saturday. She was very kind and understanding when she did come back to the table to take the plates and again, when we advised the flatbread was terrible, did immediately say she would remove it from the bill and offered something else which I didn't take considering my boyfriend had already finished his meal; perhaps if she had come back when the food was brought, I could have taken the offered clam chowder but not after sitting watching someone else eat and looking at the disappointing dish in front of me. My husband and I went in for dinner Saturday night and it being the weekend before Halloween the Whitman Witch Walkers were there. So much fun to see them. Our waitress was Andrea and she was EXCELLENT. I hope we get her again on our next visit. My husband had the French Onion soup and the salmon. He really enjoyed everything he had. I've been coming to the Patio for the last couple years!! I love having a go to bar / restaurant for game days / date nights and even brunch. Taco Tuesdays is one of the favorites and the clam chowder in a bread bowl was toasted and delicious. Not pictured was the cauliflower it's always made to perfection!! The bartenders and wait staff are always very friendly and even if they are busy they make sure to check in on the way by. Pretty mixed reviews on here. I pop in here a good amount. We usually do a couple apps and drinks. Widowmaker on draft if you're an IPA person which is half the reason I go here (a lot of places around here have terrible beer selections which I don't with the explosion of craft beer popularity in the recent years). Staff has always been super nice and attentive (I'm surprised by some of the other reviews) and food always pretty consistent. Never left disappointed. Not the greatest but a solid spot for the local community if your looking for a more modern casual spot. Try the patio nachos or koji wings. If I were to recommend anything that would make me come more would be more local craft beers and mix up the menu a bit. Also maybe bring in some pizza instead of just the flatbreads (I know you can get it across the street at McGuiggan's). read more

My husband and I ate lunch here on Wednesday. It was surprisingly crowded. I loved the atmosphere - the day was warm and sunny, and the floor-to-ceiling windows were all open. We got the chicken & biscuit app, which was amazing, and I had French onion soup and the Patio salad, which were both really good. Hubby got the fish tacos, which he enjoyed. We started with their cauliflower appetizer and it was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the chicken Marsala and it was sheer perfection. The only good thing about our lunch here were the mozzarella sticks and our server Cassandra. The clam chowder was old and Luke warm, the braised short rib tacos were tasteless and cold, and the chicken Marsala had so much flour on them it thickened the Marsala sauce. Tried this place over the summer with my husband. We sat at the bar while we waited for our food to go. The meal was good but the drinks were just okay because of a less experienced bar tender. I'm up for trying new things but strongly disliked the first drink. The bar tender had never tried it herself so she couldn't give us any information on what it tasted like so I just went by the list of ingredients, which sounded good. She was very quick to offer me something else after I told her it wasn't what I expected so I appreciated that. The second drink was much better. 3 stars because I would have hoped for better drinks at the Patio, given it's newer modern look and feel and price of a cocktail. Food portions were huge but the food was basic and the prices were Boston like. When I asked the waitress why is was dead she replied it was summer ?!?! The owner paced around kind of arrogant , anyway if your looking to be shot back to the 70's with food then this is your place .i think if they re-structured the menu to be a bit more innovative and priced the menu as a small town 20.7 miles outside Boston they may do a bit better . It was my first time there and I can definitely see myself returning frequently. We had some mixed drinks and some sangrias. Both were great. We started with a cheese board for an app and the thing was huge. It was really a great value. After that I had the short ribs and my wife had a salad. Both were perfect. We then finished the meal with a great Tiramasu. It was a great experience from the food to the service. I'm looking forward to going again and trying more items from the menu. read more

Half full at 7:00 on a Saturday night and the service was slow. Seated 10 minutes before waitress arrived. Beer was fine, specialty martini was small and weak. Potato nachos app had cheese whiz. Why? Our entrees both came with cold, limp soggy fries. We were just finishing the entrees when the waitress asked how everything was. Asked for some hot, crisp fries to replace the others. Ten minutes after we were finished the properly cooked fries arrived. I guess they tried. Always tip at least 20%. The restaurant business is tough.
