This was my sisters old stomping grounds in college, but I'd never been here before. So we decided to check it on a Tuesday, which also just so happened to be my birthday. In all honesty, I'm always worry about eating at new places because what food so much but sadly, I have food allergies and I'm allergic to pork and monosodium glutamate/MSG. When I asked the store about a couple of items, she had to go ask the Chef and then to our surprise the Owner came up to our table and said how she hated S.J. because it gave her headaches so when her husband opened this restaurant, they made sure that they had MSG in it!! I was so freaking thrilled!!! For our first round, I got a porn star martini, my sister got tequila on the rocks. I know she had a particular brand that was Organic, but I forget which one since she only drinks particular brands. Hee. Both drinks were to our liking and then I switched to white wine and loved the bottle of white that the owner suggested. That bottle (pictured below) was clean, crisp, refreshing and had a slight citrus after taste that paired perfectly with a warm summer evening and the lemon from the calamari. The calamari was delicious and crispy with tartar sauce, although I wish they also had a chipotle aioli sauce, but I know I'm just being picky. The wings were pretty spicy considering we got the less spicy version- at least to me, but I can do a Level 3 spice at SJ's Scratch Chicken- WITH a beer handy! Hee Overall I loved the environment and they had a number of tv's playing different sports channels and a separate room in the back. That room was rented out for a private party, but the fact they had the space was nice to know. I will definitely be back here again and I'm thrilled to know I can eat ANYTHING I want, since most places accidentally have MSG in their food, such as Ranch dip, breading on fired items and in certain sauces. Tuesday Night = KAROAKE!!! The DJ was super friendly, energetic, enthusiastic, and really fun. Bar staff was wonderful as well. The QR code system made it super easy to request songs, no bribes required. Three microphones make group songs so joyous and vibrant. I was looking for a casual bar to catch up with a friend and came across The Patio. We arrived around 3 and it was pretty empty. They have a bar, dining room, and outdoor seating. They also offer happy hour on weekdays from 4pm-6pm. The staff was friendly and not too hands-on. Our bartender gave us space to talk and checked in whenever she noticed our drinks were getting low. She even checked in after a few rounds to make sure we were doing okay. I really appreciate when bartenders look out for their customers! We ordered around 7 drinks and two happy hour small bites, and our total was very reasonable! The Patio is one of my favorite places to stop by after work for a drink with coworkers and to watch whatever game is on. I've been multiple times and have rarely had a bad experience. I enjoy sitting in the back outdoor area and ordering beers with a few apps. For being in Palo Alto, the prices are reasonable, with some dishes truly worth their cost. My favorite thing to order here is the Tater Tots Garlic Style (10/10). They're the crispiest tater tots I've ever had and pack a strong garlic punch. For $6, it's an app you can easily share with three people and still be extremely satisfied. I also tried the chicken wings for the first time, and they had the best buffalo sauce I've ever had (9/10). The only thing that could have made them better was if the skin were a bit crispier, but the spice and tang from the sauce made up for it. I also had the Hot Honey Wings (7/10), which were good but not on the level of the buffalo. They had a mild sweetness and nice savory flavor, but I wouldn't say there was much heat, and the honey was minimal. A solid wing overall, but it could have used a bit more flavor. I'll definitely be back to try the other wing flavors. Depending on the day and what game is playing, service can take a little while, but I highly recommend The Patio to anyone in the area looking for a great sports bar atmosphere. read more

This is a college bar and we took it over on a Wednesday night, which is Karaoke night. There are a few distinct areas of the place. The front area is where the singing went down and has a decent sized dance floor and one long bar, with place to sit. In the back is a more chill area, also with a bar and some high top tables, and outside is a big open area that is paved like a parking lot, but no bar. You can exit from the outside section as well. We got drinks at the main bar in the front and the one in the back. The line at the front one was definitely longer and the bartender was not good about going in order. The karaoke was awesome with all of their TVs with the lyrics also facing the audience. That made them get involved and help out the singer when needed. My husband has been coming here for the last 5 football seasons. I've started joining him and this is my 2nd football season here. I was really excited to join him for his 1st Steelers game of the season(I'm a Cowboys fan) because last season I had a great time and we had a great waitress! Last season she was on top of it. Friendly and service was great! She would check on all her tables constantly. Welp today we get here right at the start of the game. We saw our last season waitress at a different section outside but we sat inside. Nobody came to our table for a long time while I watch the waitress in the inside section greet and smile and take orders for other tables. While walking past our table more than once. We had to flag her down to take our order. When she finally came to our table to take our order we ordered wings, 2 waters, 1 coke and a coffee, we got the coffee then wings. I ate 3 wings trying to wait patiently for my coke. Finally had to flag her down to ask her for it again. Though out the game I watched her go to tables to check on them and see if they needed anything also refilling drinks. Near the end of the game I watched her place bills on peoples tables but also still checking on others while continuing to walk right past our table but spoke to the people at tables next to us. We had to ask again for a refill after flagging her down. Then flagged her down again to ask for our bill. There was never how are you guys doing or anything welcoming from her. We actually felt uncomfortable. Which never happened last season. I believe her name was Christal. So, a little advice to her. Make a sure you treat all your customers the same. As for the food. We were the away team and they gave our group pretty much the whole outer most patio area. They brought a tv outside for us and set us up with whichever game we wanted.
