I've been taking my dog, Kahlúa, to the PawGround for about a year and half now, and it's been the greatest year and a half for my girl. I just recently moved way farther from there and I will continue going, regardless of distance. Every single person there is the sweetest and most loving soul towards animals. I have nothing but positive things to say about PawGround! I've been taking my dog, Maple, here for the past couple years for both grooming and daycare/boarding and every time pick her up she is all smiles and absolutely exhausted (which is such a gift to any dog parent). The staff are very friendly and professional, I can tell they care about all the dogs that come in. The staff also sends the sweetest pup-date photos while my dog is at daycare, it's cute seeing my dog at play throughout the day. This review is for grooming as I haven't tried the daycare. My groomer of 5 years recently relocated back East. We were so spoiled as she did it out of her home, my dogs loved and trusted her, which comes as a priority. I spent a lot of time making calls before deciding to go with The PawGround. I called one place closer to my house and they could get me in the same day and rattled off appointments available all day long. This makes me question how good you are if there is that much availability, and therefore, uncomfortable. When I first called The PawGround I was told it was a 3 week wait. I made an appointment immediately. They were so accommodating, friendly and put me at ease. I should mention I'm an insane dog mom and my pups are my be all end all everything. Not the kind that would go crazy over a botched haircut, but if my dog was injured or treated badly, I would probably commit murder. It didn't come to that with Courtney. Not only did she take an appointment at 4:30 on a Saturday, that was slated to last at least 2 hours on my shaggy Maltipoo, she gave my dog an absolutely gorgeous haircut. Her attention to detail, especially on the paws was incredible. I couldn't be more thrilled and grateful to have found her. Her demeanor is very sweet, caring and most of all, genuine. My Tilly has been coming here for daycare back when it was Wagmore, I was a little leery at first when The PawGround took over but was soon extremely pleased with the new owner! The owner Alisha is wonderful as is the entire staff, they treat your dog like their own, the facility is always clean and the beds and blankets are cleaned daily. I love that the staff take great care of my pup. They are very knowledgable and even have a vet tech on board! They're super friendly so I am a little confused by the negative feed back. I love that they have separate rooms for the small dogs and big dogs. Even though my pup is a 61lb chonk, she does better with the smaller dogs than the bigger ones. I am so happy and grateful that they were able to accommodate her. My dog comes back happy and tired which is great for a full-time work fur mom. The Pawground is a wonderful place to take your furry friend. I made and cancelled a whole bunch of temperament tests for my dog and the staff was always patient and extremely friendly. When I was finally able to bring my 40 pound Sheepadoodle in, everyone greeted him with such kindness. We had rescued our 8 month old puppy from the streets about a month earlier and were unsure if he would get along with other dogs. When I expressed my concern to the staff, the told me not to worry about it, they would make sure he and the other dogs were safe. I was told the temperament test would take 15 minutes to an hour, so when they took Shaggy in the back and came out 5 minutes later, I was sure he failed and we would have nowhere to take him when we needed daycare. The staff member that brought him out said that he actually did great. He played well with other dogs and they would be happy to have him as a client. A week later, I brought him in for an hour of daycare and grooming. I asked if he was going to be in a kennel, and was assured that he would be in the play yard for the whole hour. He was scheduled for grooming after his hour of play, so before I left, Courtney (the groomer) came out and spoke to me about what I wanted done for Shaggy. When I showed up to pick him up, Courtney brought him out and I couldn't believe he was the same dog. he looked amazing. Since he was homeless his whole life, we didn't know he could look so beautiful. we were extremely pleased with how he looked. Needless to say, I would recommend The Pawground to everyone who needs daycare, boarding or grooming. They have affordable and flexible half day, whole day and hourly daycare where your pup can socialize with other dogs and get to know the amazing staff. I interacted with at least 5 people, and they were all very friendly and attentive. It was obvious that they loved their jobs and all the pups they encountered. I can't wait to bring Shaggy back to play with his new friends, and he'll definitely be back for his next haircut. read more

When I first got her she was very shy and timid, but she has completely come into her own at Daycare! She has made so many dog friends and absolutely loves the human staff! DONT EVER take your dog there! They under fed my dog by 2/3 of a cup a food per day for the five days he was there. They rushed me out when picking up my dog! They lost his tag. We love The PawGround day-care! And most importantly our dog loves it too. Everyone who works there genuinely loves dogs and it's truly been a lifesaver with our high energy puppy who needs a lot of playtime. I especially appreciate their flexibility in terms of drop-off and pick-up. My schedule is very unpredictable and I LOVE that I can show up anytime of day and drop her off. My husband and also appreciate that we can do a late pick up so we can go to dinner or a concert and not worry about coming home to a hyper puppy! Highly recommend. All of the other one star reviews are true. My pet and I were severely mistreated by the owner Alishia. She made us feel so unwelcome after our first visit. She said my pet was great but then when I disputed extra charges on our account she became hostile and disrespectful. I tried to have a reasonable conversation with her but she choose to be passive aggressive and go on a power trip to never allow us to come back to the establishment. (We disputed one charge in a calm and rational manner, she told us we could never come back because I said this was not right and I would share my experience) So if anything goes wrong and you bring it up, its almost guaranteed that punishment tactics will be initiated by the owner. Really sad because its within walking distance to our new home but the owner clearly cares more about her ego and not correcting a mistake than treating her customers with care and respect. I have never been treated so poorly by a business owner in my life. I am a reasonable person but clearly they don't care about their customers. It looks like based on other reviews Alisha has a problem with mistreating her customers regularly. UPDATE: Alishia is now harassing my boyfriend and I via text because I shared my experience. There is no reason i shouldn't be able to share my experience but for some reason she continues to scold me for no reason much like the other reviews explain. She continues to remain unprofessional and even misused our personal contact information. She has made no effort to make the situation right but rather just send a message of that consists of her being shocked I wrote a review. I don't know where the surprise is coming from, as she expresses in her response, I clearly said I felt I needed to warn others of her poor customer service and misrepresentation of prices. I have given so many chances to this business to do the right things but have been met with blame, lies, scolding, and passive aggression. I also left out of my review first review that Alisha ALSO in a passive aggressive tone made a suggestion that I need to walk my dog more and she had some "cheaper" options since I "clearly could not afford" her prices. Where she felt it was ok to make an accusation that I was not properly taking care of my dog is unclear to me. Then to make an accusation that I just can't afford her prices is beyond rude. My concern with the extra $40 was not with their prices but rather the misrepresentation of their boarding charges that I anticipated on based on review of the website and conversations with staff. Saying that I threatened her is unacceptable and misleading as well, I have not made any threats but rather explained that I felt strongly that I would need to report the business based on their actions which is within my rights to do. My dog nor myself have made any threats. In addition, my dog nor myself have done nothing that would hinder their ability to help other customers or operate their business as Alisha is claiming. This further shows their lies and mistreatment of customers to punish them for whatever reason they want to come up with. I've been taking my pup here for over two years, during which time ownership and branding changed. Under new management, I felt the more personal touch of the proprietor, which was nice - they seemed to make an effort and appeared to really care about my dog and her well-being. Unfortunately, a recent experience has led me to believe that my initial assessment was completely incorrect, and that my dog's safety is neither taken seriously nor is it a priority. As part of a recent bath service, the groomer accidentally decided to cut my pup's nails - a service I did not request. I only realized this after seeing two of my dog's paws bleeding a couple days later and consulting my veterinarian, who promptly confirmed that the nails had been cut far too short. When I messaged Pawground about this, their response was essentially that mistakes happen, they were sorry, and that they'd give me a credit for another bath. I replied that this felt insufficient and asked them to reconsider what they'd do to make things right, which resulted in nothing other than them saying they were not sure what else to offer. They didn't inquire about a veterinary bill or anything along those lines, which would have demonstrated a modicum of concern and desire to make things right. The thought that a "sorry" and a credit (not even a refund!) for a service that had previously resulted in injury to my dog was a sufficient remedy, even after I told them I was disappointed in such a tepid response to injuring my dog, made me realize how disconnected the owner is from the severity of what transpired. Suffice it to say, I alerted them I'll never be back and I immediately requested a refund for prepaid services. If you care for your dog, and you want to send your pup somewhere it'll be cared for, I'd recommend staying away from the Pawground. read more

My doggy Luna LOVES the pawground!!! she gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot, she just prances right in and checks herself in at the front desk. when i pick her up, half the time she doesn't even want to come home with me, she tries to run back into the daycare room. my dog can be anxious and nervous around new people and places sometimes, but she has seem to fit in perfectly here since day 1. every employee is so kind and Alisha, the owner, is amazing and very much involved in the day to day operations, which makes me feel better about leaving my dog here. they communicate great about what's going on with your dog and offer a lot of services. i've gotten her groomed here by both groomers, Courtney and i think the other guy is Cesar, sorry if i'm wrong, but they both did an amazing job and she looked so good after he groom. read more

I, and more importantly my pup Kelso, LOVE and are so grateful for the Pawground and their staff. Kelso is practically jumping out of the car when we arrive and when we walk into the lobby, he's off to go play with the other dogs! The owner, Alisha has made great efforts to be on the floor taking care of the facility, managing the business, and taking the time to have some fun with the pups as well! The team here have been so good to Kelso. On the multiple occasions when I had to put Kelso in boarding The Pawground has welcomed him with open arms, so excited to host him and have been very communicative with me every day with picture updates. It really upsets me that I have to write a one star review for a local business. Unfortunately, this business is non-accommodating and maybe is Miss advertising that they do daycare I'm very well aware that the dog should have all his records and his rabies shots and everything that he has which I do have and I have everything up-to-date as of this morning. Today is Monday, 29 January I came to drop my dog off Who is 14 years old reason being my house is getting painted right now. I've been trying to drop him off for days but nobody calls back. No one returns phone calls or any kind of customer service here except that Alicia did call me back once I wrote this review, I have a 14 year old dog and they will not let him in daycare unless he passes a personality test Alicia tells me that the state loss says he must pass a personality test well I'm not sure about that and I'm gonna check on that because I just left another daycare which they were very happy to take him in and if you contact a customer and you want them to change the review, I would highly recommend you contact the customer with some kind of solution not just to reprimand them because you don't like the review it seems very condescending as well. Before I get into the actual review I'd like to first say that I was completely apprehensive that my German Shepherd ,his name is( Charles Bronson ):). could ever allow himself to be groomed. I had given up all thoughts of even taking him into Petco. because he is so rambunctious in those types of locations. I have the misfortune of internalizing my dog's bad behavior in public places and I deal with so much anxiety that I just knew in my heart that he was Put on this planet just to stress me the hell out. in a dog park, Petco, the local restaurant where you can bring your dog. he's such a loving guy but he just likes to start trouble and embarrass Me whenever he can. He's my first full-breed shepherd and I don't know if they're all like this but oh my God he's a wild one. Anyway, As soon as I got him I had set stress with him that I got a full-time live in therapist. OK here we go, on to the review. on a walk with Charles Bronson one day I ran into my neighbor Alicia. I had no idea that she was involved in the doggie biz. Once Charles saw Alicia He was extremely smitten with her and Turned on his charm and she immediately realized that Charles Bronson It's quite a sweetheart. After about 5 minutes of flirting between them, Alicia said Why don't you bring him into my shop and get him groomed . I immediately said "oh hell no" that's not gonna work if you let him even set foot in your shop you'll be sorry he'll burn the place down in 5 minutes he's done it before. She said no that wouldn't happen and I was extremely apprehensive but Alicia was very persuasive and I reluctantly agreed but I did state that she'd be sorry that she ever would let him step into the shop. So Charles and Alicia made a date for approximately noon and she was very punctual and so was Charles. A couple hours later Happy and clean and smelling fantastic. Alicia said that he was extremely well-behaved. I was flabbergasted that he was able to behave. So what I'm saying is that Alicia and her staff of magical people were able to Tame the wildest Beast that has ever lived. Thank you Alicia so much For taking care of my guy and thank you so much for insisting that he would be okay. I can't recommend the Paw Ground enough.
