This place is fun! I am partial to the lunch specials that come with veggies and a dessert choice, though there are lots of options. I consider this comfort food, so tread lightly, especially cause you can't leave without passing the sweets counter. A fun find there has been the garlic focaccia bread, given my love of bread. But, you can also find fun things like pierogies, gnocchi, different sausages, burgers, and steaks in their grocery and butcher stations. In the summer, you'll find lots of fresh local fruits, which always makes you feel better after filling up on pot pie and fried okra. read more

What a cool place! We kept passing this place by and figured we should just stop in today. I can't believe the amount of stuff they have including a full ice cream shop and even a restaurant in back. Today while I wanted everything ... hubby reminded me I was being good. So trying to do as little damage as we could we got a small helping of the boiled peanuts. I have lived in this area for over 20 years and like the Peach Stand very much and have patronized them for a long time. They have a nice selection of just about everything. They have stuck with the "do what you do well and stick to it", they haven't changed and do a great job offering nice produce, meats, pies, baked goods etc... Here's my issue with them. The "girls" they have working there are snotty and rude. The past few times I've been there I have seen and experienced an attitude that makes me not want to come back. Went last night for ice cream, Friday night there were 3 or 4 families with kids waiting for someone to show up to take orders. I waited for 5 minutes and when nobody was there I finally went up front and asked them if someone was working in the back. I was met with a snotty response of "there is someone back there" and with an attitude. Finally someone showed up and when they finished they disappeared again. More people showed up and waited 5 minutes and the girls came back. Just one example..... Sometimes I feel that people are jaded with the "stuff" in the market and tend to overlook bad service and deal with it. There's plenty of other farmers markets and meat markets in the area for me to patronize. read more

Definitely worth a stop if you're coming past the peach stand. I wouldn't drive here from where I am in north Charlotte because I have Barbee farms but the produce was good. I got a basket of peaches and blackberries. It smells really good inside because of the bakery and restaurant. Gas was cheaper, too! read more

Three stars for the shop, which is pretty nice but the selection is way too limited to make a special trip for it. We bought home made sausages (recommended!), country ham, tomatoes, bread etc. NO STARS for the so called "restaurant". There's nothing "Southern Style" nor anything restaurant about vinyl floors, plastic silverware and the help shouting for us to pick up our order in an completely empty restaurant. The only soup was chicken, we passed. I wanted to order the ribeye steak sandwich but found out that all the meat is cooked on the greasy stainless flat griddle, no thanks! I ordered the Italian sub, mostly rubbery boiled ham with one slice of salami and one slice of capaccola. I threw half of it in the garbage, even Subway does it better! I got an order of handcut fries, could have been ok but they were grossly undercooked. My partner had the grilled Portobello wrap, she thought was "not too bad" (or too good) but didn't finish it either. I found it very bitter, maybe because of the Asiago. Over at the next table the people got two salads, they were topped with day-glo orange processed cheese. All in all not a pleasant experience, even the coffee was terrible and the cups were plasticized styrofam, why? What this dump reminded me was how crap food was back in the 70s. Overpriced strawberries and rude cashiers. This was my first time visiting Let me start by saying that the price per gallon of strawberries was the highest in here. My mother and I were buying a gallon each, but when my mother noticed that some strawberries in her gallons had some rotten spots, she asked to get a different gallon. The seller tried to reassure my mother by saying that "they all like that, just need to be washed", but when my mom still asked to get a different gallon, the sales lady took one strawberry from another package and literally threw it into my mom's package. Expensive strawberries and very rude people that sell them. Not only I will not return, but I will most definitely share my experience with family and friends, and point to places where delicious strawberries cost less and people that sell them are pleasant to deal with. read more

If this were just for the restaurant, it'd be 5 stars. Sure the wait is long, but it's all from scratch and the ladies definately hustle. I always say I'm going to try something new and then end up ordering the Carolina burger. It's so good! But the young lady they have working in the bakery was rude to my mom. She was preparibg to decorate a pan of baked goods when my mom walked up and requested fudge. She did not lift her head, move or acknowledge my mother, so she repeated herself. The girl snapped that she would help my mother when she was done, and began icing the pan. "Well, no thanks then. I'm not going to stand here while you ice that whole pan and wait for three little pieces of fudge." The girl threw the bag down, huffed, was very rough in helping my mother. And she practically tossed her stuff at her. I always wondered why the bakery was so empty, because it always smells good. Maybe this is why. My other complaint is that they were selling boxes of peaches that were said to be premeasured at a peck, or half a peck. But while I was there the workers were allowing people who wanted larger quantities to cherry pick their peaches out of the pre-weighed peck boxes. Then a customer grabbed two of the peck boxes that were taken from, walked up to the register and bought them. No one at the register mentioned what they were buying wasn't a peck or volunteered to confirm the pecks and I am positive they didn't get two pecks because I saw what was taken. Someone needs to make sure they are selling people what they are paying for! So, five stars for the Carolina Burgers, 1 one star each for the other issues. read more

This is right down the road from Fort Mill High School. At first I kind of blew it off as a gas station. I was wrong. The inside is huge with lots of different facets of the store. There is a deli, ice cream place, tons of drinks, a place to hang out... If you are ever stuck in Fort Mill with nothing to do, try hanging out here and get a sandwich or something. I have not tried the cafe/restaurant, so I can't offer anything up on that. But this is what I have observed thus far. When produce is in season, they have a nice selection of produce! They also carry a lot of local / regional products, including syrups, seasonings, and BBQ sauces. Oh, and raw milk. It's awesome! Try it. The butcher shop has a decent selection of meats, including homemade sausages. There's not a lot of emphasis on seafood though. Oh, and if you're into sausage-making, they do sell sausage casings. Just have to ask! So what's the drawback? The numerous times that I have been in the store, there has NEVER been someone back in the ice cream shop section. Never! They are an exxon but they have a gourmet butcher shop, lots of country foods, some homemade and fresh. A nice little cafe area to sit and eat, clean restrooms, and nice people. This is a one of a kind, completely awesome space. If you are passing by you have no excuse for not stopping. You'll want to come again and again because they have so many unique products. Their fresh donuts are great, but make sure they were made that morning. Good banana bread and homemade chicken salad. Their frozen manicotti is my go to dinner when I don't feel like cooking. They have many hard to find products like raw milk, bison, and frozen duck, rabbit, and crawfish tails. Also carry Boar's head meats and have a wonderful butcher shop. The Peach Stand is absolutely amazing! It contains a butcher, fresh produce section, bakery, restaurant, store, and ice cream parlor. We first visited the ice cream parlor and I had a scoop of Moose Tracks. It was sooooooo good and creamy. My friend had birthday cake and she loved it just as much! The Peach Stand and Springs Farm Market now contain my favorite ice cream! After we finished our ice cream, we looked around the store and saw the most delicious baked goods such as croissants, cookies (chocolate chip and Reese's), muffins (looked so good), angel food cake, pies, pound cake, banana bread, scones, and so much more. In the store they had loads of baking mixes/kits to make baked goods, soups, pancakes, cornbread etc. The staff were very nice and helped me around the store. I've been visiting the Peach Stand since I've arrived in the area; coming from Colorado, they have one of the top butcher stands I've seen. Clean, friendly, knowledgable, and they can parse what cut you want (while explaining the cuts) from what you're looking to do. Locally sourced, as well. Moving away from the butcher, they constantly have fresh from the farm produce, ranging from strawberries in the late Spring-early Summer, to peaches, pumpkins, corn... it's simply an amazing place. For the level of quality they bring, it doesn't break the bank either. Next time you're looking for a steak to throw on the grill, go to the Peach Stand. You'll never buy protein at another chain grocer again. read more

The grocery area features an array of unique, local goods that cannot be found anywhere else. The restaurant is fantastic! I've been here for breakfast many times and have never been disappointed! This place is close to my work and I was told I had to get the strawberries there. That was great advice. I went in on my lunch break for some berries and was happily surprised to see that there is also a lunch counter in the back. The women working at the counter, however, don't seem too happy about it. They all seem flustered and are brusque and impatient with the customers ordering their lunch. I shrugged it off the first time I went there. My sandwich was great. I ordered the half sandwich and soup combo. Looking at my receipt later, I feel like I was overcharged. Well, maybe I wasn't very clear with my order because I felt rushed by the woman taking my order. I returned a couple of weeks later during my lunch hour. I planned to order one sandwich to go, for a coworker, and my own sandwich that I planned to eat in the restaurant. The line moved forward and the customer in front of me had just ordered. As he was putting his money away, the woman taking orders leaned over and took the order from the man BEHIND me! Apparently he was a regular because she knew his order. She was still writing his order down as the man in front of me walked away and I waited for her attention. She sent in the order for the man behind me and then looked at me to take my order. I ordered my two meals, one to go, one to stay, paid and took my ticket with my number to a table to wait. I listened for my number to be called as people who ordered before me, including the man behind me, got their meals. Then I noticed several people who ordered after me getting their meals. After 25 minutes of waiting, I walked up to the counter to check on it. My meal, the one I had ordered to eat in, was boxed up and sitting under the counter. The other order was still waiting on homemade chips. 5 minutes later that order was boxed up. I waited 30 minutes for 2 meals! The woman bagged up the sandwiches and gave me an apologetic shrug as she handed them to me. I may be back for the strawberries. But I will NOT return to the lunch counter! That was TERRIBLE customer service. They certainly won't be gaining any new "regulars" treating people the way I felt I was treated. read more

I don't know what I would do without this market in Fort Mill. It's the only place I can sausage wheels like back in NY. The butcher department is the best around. Steaks are great and although the chicken is more expensive than Harries Teeter, when you ask them to cut it thin they actually slice it thin enough to make fried chicken cutlets. The produce is great and always fresh. Ice cream is good but not homemade so not my favorite in the area but if I'm stopping for groceries I will occasionally grab a cone. Great bakery inside! Don't let the gas station attached fool you. The Peach Stand is a Fort Mill landmark for a reason. There is a small ice cream parlor and country restaurant. But the best parts are the mini grocery store including local produce & local products and of course the butcher shop. There are quite a number of things I pick up there regularly. Number 1 is RAW MILK!!!! Its is a foodie's delight. There is nothing like a cold glass of milk with just a bit of cream that rises to the top. They also import some of the best, reasonably priced, balsamic vinegar and olive oil around. The balsamic is aged and has a nice sweet flavor. It makes you understand why people commonly pair good balsamic with strawberries. The olive oil is fresh and has a nice flavor. Pick up some of the manicotti they have in the freezer along with a jar of David's secret tomato sauce and a chunk of bread. Viola, dinner. Ahhh the butcher shop... how I love thee....... They will cut meat to order if you wish them to ( I wanted an unusual cut and they were happy to help) plus they have a good selection. Their apple wood smoked bacon and fresh sausage are perfect for making Sunday brunch. I have had their kabobs, which were full of flavor and tender. Their house made sausages, fresh chicken and meat are great. I'm sure if they don't have it, they can get it for you, just ask them. They also carry Boar's Head deli products. One of the things that really makes this place stand out is their commitment to carrying a lot of local products. Being South Carolina, of course they have a lot of peach products including preserves, cider and when in season, fresh peaches of course. One of the most surprising peach products are peach wood chips for your smoker. I learned that some of the peach wood also goes to a local artist for his projects. Another favorite of mine is "May's Unique Vinaigrette" salad dressing. They also carry Hidden Acre Farm products (out of Rock Hill) including coarse ground grits which are a must for shrimp and grits, local popcorn as well as dip, bread & soup mixes from the same farm, packaged in cute mini brown paper packages with home style labels (a few in a basket make great hostess gifts). Try the soup with the cowboy on the front of it using a pound of the ground steak from the butcher shop... yumm!... and not salty at all if you are worried about sodium intake. I wanted to like this place but i won't be back anytime soon. I went out of my to the Peach Stand for...you guessed it...Peaches. I don't eat peaches but since i was headed to see my family in Pennsylvania I thought I'd take some SC peaches to my family. It was hard to find an employee to wait on me, but the girls were gathered at the front maybe having a team meeting but didn't even acknowledge when i walked in. It wasn't busy. I guess i bothered them and was told there aren't any peaches (at the peach stand) that it ended last week . I was told i could check the grocery store for some peaches. ‍‍ We decided to get some Hershey ice cream and had to wait for service at the empty counter. She waited on the other customer that walked back with her and completed their personal conversation before waiting on me. Just left a sour taste- and don't have a desire to return. If you're looking for Peaches as the peach stand...make sure they are in season or you'll be disappointed. read more

I'd give the Peach Stand five stars, if only the staff were better. As another yelper noted, the girls can sometimes have a very poor attitude. I have a major problem when a clerk doesn't offer the obvious (a bag for multiple items), or when they don't thank the customer for their business and/or wish them a nice day. Now that the griping is done :): The Peach Stand's ice cream is good, but not exceptional. Their baked goods are exceptional: pies are fresh, tasty, homemade, not too sweet, but not too bland; fair priced. Much of what they sell is locally sourced, yet reasonably priced. This is the best place to pick up dessert for a dinner date. They're open until 9, and they're conveniently located. I'd frequent The Peach Stand more often, if not for the poor attitudes of (some) of the employees. read more
