Stopped by The Peanut for some beer and wings, and it definitely hit the spot! They have some of the best Buffalo whole wings--crispy, juicy, meaty, and packed with flavor. We also shared the fully loaded nachos, which had everything I love piled on top. One thing I really liked about this location is that it feels more open, spacious, and cleaner than some of the other Peanut locations I've visited. It made for a really comfortable atmosphere. This has become a spot for my husband and I when we want to eat out because we know we'll both be satisfied after eating here. The place is clean and atmosphere is always welcoming and nice. The tvs add a nice touch, makes me feel right at home since I enjoy watching tv while I eat. Wait staff are extremely nice, friendly and helpful. I'm a huge fan of their wings but decided to try something new this go around. The Santa Fe burger was good but the corn was a bit of a surprise (guess I should've fully read the menu) my husband enjoyed his veggie burger and my daughter loved the mozzarella sticks and the sweet potato fries. My buddy living in the near this location and we got hungry & we stopped in to satisfy hunger and watch the Jayhawks . Seated at the bar our servers were really super fantastic on the dine in experience. Jayhawks on TV viewable from every seat Oh my we were super excited. The spicy onion petals was a big hit. My buddy had beers and said was served ice cold and super tasty. (Dry January for me) The main course showed up and was hot and in huge portioned. ( Chicken tenders with buffalo sauce on the side makes it so tasty) Overall the visit has me anxious to get back to either this Peanut or another... I think anyone that is in KC knows that The Peanut is the place to go for wings, watching sports on TV and drinking. I had not been to this location, met some ex coworkers there one night recently and I was impressed with their service and their wings. One person ordered for the table and we all liked them charred and sloppy, thats how they were ordered and how they came out! Delish!!! The celery and dipping sauces came out first, which was nice to snack on beforehand and then the wings came out hot hot hot, very yummy. Others ate the pretzel bites and seemed to like them and the loaded fries. I love that their blue cheese and ranch are homemade, just makes it that much better. read more

The food is fairly good but not worth the higher than average price paid. It seemed to take a very long time to receive a burger for one of us and the Mac and cheese for the other, especially since it was not very busy....I would say we waited about 25 minutes or so. Unfortunately the onions rings were too heavily breaded and overdone up to being at the level of burned and our server did not seem to appreciate the fact we brought it to her attention. The fried pickles were pretty good however. Our server was nice as well but, like the food, was only a little above average in terms of personality and friendliness. Overall, high priced average food probably worth passing over for some better options in that area the next time around. read more

Had a great lunch with my son he had never been to one of the Peanuts! He was feeling a good burger a beer I said hey let try the peanut! He loved the place and said he will be back! Ordered wings and bbq brisket nachos online for pickup. Wings were great! The nachos were okay, but the presentation was awful and a lot of work. Every component of the dish was in its own separate container. At home I had to find my own platter and construct the dish myself. Not at all what I expected and such a disappointment. He had fried tenderloin -which was very thin and mostly breading. I chose the Reuben and fries. The meat was cubed (cut up) not sliced and wasn't as lean As I'd expected. This is a very nice, new, bar & grill. I liked the spacious interior, the attentive service and the delicious food., but it wasn't a good lunch value. The Peanut is best known for their enormous chicken wings, but they also offer other options. My chicken sandwich with choice of side ($12.50) was served in twelve minutes and stood almost 4" high (mostly bun including the somewhat thin piece of chicken). The potato salad I chose as a side was very good. The interior was nicely done with 20 TVs (tuned to sports channels) and classic rock background music, but no games. The prices seemed relatively high, but hopefully daily food and drink specials and a happy hour are on the way. I'm thinking 3.5 stars and rounding down for the relatively high price with no specials (yet). read more

I always love going to The Peanut. This was our first time at this location. I really loved how much space there was as well as the outdoor patio. There were plenty of TVs and we were able to watch baseball while eating. Although busy, the space never got so loud that we couldn't hear each other. I'm so excited about this new Peanut location! It's big, clean and closer to home than other locations. I met a friend for lunch my first time here. We stuck to our standard order...bloody Mary's, chicken nachos and a BLT to share. So good! My husband and I came for brunch the next week. I had a mimosa (light on the orange juice) and spicy eggs. My husband had the spicy eggs and we split a half order of biscuits and gravy to try. All was good, but the spicy eggs are amazing! I can't wait to go back! read more

The Peanut has a wide variety of food. But their wings have a rep that goes around the city. Their wings basically come in 2 styles, 1 is Buffalo. The other is double-dipped frying of the Buffalo version. The Buffalo wings are a good tasting meal and the Peanut wing sauce is tangy & spicy but not really hot. The double-dipped style makes the wings crispy and when dipped in the wing sauce is delicious. Ranch and Blue Cheese sauces are available. My favorite order is double-dipped with both Wing sause and Ranch on the side. Sometimes l get a urge to have them and got to make it to one of the 4-5 Peanut locations around town. read more

I've given this restaurant several chances, but after many disappointing experiences, I feel it's time to share my review. While the wings are the only standout, everything else consistently falls short. On one occasion, I was served a raw burger--not what you'd expect when dining out. Instead of compensating for the mistake (or doing anything other than a sorry), they charged us the full price. The burger took 15 minutes to arrive, and by the time I started eating, everyone else at the table had finished their meals. I've also been overcharged or billed for items I didn't order on multiple visits. This includes being charged for extra ranch even though I didn't order any beyond what comes with the wings. I've also been charged for incorrect items, and when I point it out, I never receive anything more than a simple "thanks" for catching their mistake. As for the service, it's incredibly slow, and the staff seems indifferent to their customers. Unless they make some major improvements, I can't recommend this place, except maybe for a pickup order of wings. read more

Pay CASH!! Credit card theft!!! Watch your bank transactions. I have been scammed twice now. Same bartender, Kasey, charged my card for multiple tickets. The first time I swept it under the rug.. giving her the benefit of the doubt that it was a mistake. I went back a couple weeks later, Saturday evening, again my card was charged multiple times. So I was in on a Thursday and heard a female manager dowing her employees. Sitting there I had noticed this woman had done absolutely nothing to help her team! It was obvious everyone was working hard while her and her friend did absolutely nothing to make the situation better. I asked and found out this was a manager and her daughter doing nothing!!!! Third trip to this Peanut. Place was completely full for lunch but service was great. Did not wait for anything. They have down the famous Peanut wings here but the grilled cheese was underwhelming. Ordered with bacon and side of pasta salad. The grilled cheese was missing the cheese part. It looks like two thin slices of cheese disintegrated into the toast making it inedible. The bacon came right off and it was good. Pasta salad was just ok. Overall I'll keep coming back for wings and service, just would avoid the grilled cheese. read more

My family went here Christmas Eve. I had called ahead of time was told they closed at five. When I got here the first of my family to arrive sign on the door said last food call 3 closing at 4! I found a large table in the corner made contact w everyone to get here fast. Chiefs game on but was almost over. Staff had been busy I get it but no one acknowledged me being there for over 15 minutes. Once everyone came the crowd was gone. Getting service was slow, getting drinks was slow. I know for a fact we were the last food order of that day. As we ordered the floors were being cleaned. Food came quickly we ate and boxed up leftovers paid left. My overall impression was service was slow before and after the crowd left. The wings here are huge tasty. I had ground beef nachos just ok I split them w my husband.
