I think everyone else had the same idea because it was packed but luckily we did not have a long wait. We could not tell if this was a restaurant or a brewery because it was set up restaurant style but they made their own drinks in house. I ordered the truffle fries and they were amazing! They also gave you a lot of sauce to dip them in which I can appreciate. They were some of the best fries I've had.

But unfortunately, I had a serious issue with the mussel dish I was served. When the bowl arrived, most of the mussels were completely closed, which is a huge red flag for anyone familiar with seafood. As a general food safety rule: if a mussel doesn't open during cooking, it was likely dead before being cooked and it's unsafe to eat. I flagged it right away to avoid getting sick, and while the server acknowledged it and took off $4, that felt like a very minimal gesture for a dish that could have caused food poisoning. I'm grateful I caught it before taking a bite, but serving unopened shellfish isn't just a minor mistake it's a health hazard. The cream sauce itself was tasty, and the bread was good, but the overall experience left me cautious. My chicken Caesar wrap came with soggy chicken and tasted like it had been drenched in Italian dressing instead of Caesar. The fries were limp and soggy. We spent what felt like forever trying to get someone's attention just to ask for ranch so we could add some flavor. The beer itself was decent, and I'd probably come back for that. Along with Garlic Cheesecurds. Then as I had teased Gabby our severer I would follow coffee with donuts. I had the Donut Stout and my spouse had the Mexican Lager. So of course we had to have the Bavarian Petrels to go with it. Of course by this time the creative ideas start to flow so our next choice was a beer we shared a 1/4 of coffee stout and 3/4 of donut stout. Oh my! Good thing I am retired or this would my coffee choice each morning! We both loved the mix and then I talked to Zach about how I hoped both will be available in January when I am back in the area. We did order onion rings as a appetizer they were pretty good, butI just found it odd the way our sandwiches were presented , and odder that our server never mentioned this. When talking about service, this is the one place that is not average. It is below average It was semi busy, but our server was often missing in action. Aside from the not mentioning the no accompaniment to sandwiches, she disappeared for 20 minutes as we were awaiting our check to leave. We actually had to ask a different server for our check.
