Here on a very quiet Monday night. Our server was lovely, friendly and very efficient. I had the Cajun burger. I asked to have bacon for the burger and tater tots very crispy came perfectly as ordered. As burgers go it was hand pressed and very tasty. My companion ordered the Pourman's Platter with a side order of the bacon, cabbage, Brussels sprouts hash. She liked it very much. My friend wanted to play the quick draw and was told very rudely by the bartender that he doesn't do anything with it, It's all done by a machine and brusquely pointed at the machine. When she went to check her ticket on the machine, it spit it out and sent an error message. Again ask the bartender for help to retrieve our her winnings, he said he really didn't know how to do it and he tells people just don't play. When she said the machine was sending an error message. He then took the card from her and suddenly knew how to check the ticket and give her the winnings. So why the subterfuge?? There was no need for the rudeness, and she felt disrespected. Had a lovely time at Penfield Pour House! I was looking for a new-to-me spot after a trip to an east side driving range for patio drinks and din, and Penfield Pour house was our winner! Upon arrival, we were greeted by signs that said "reservations ONLY no walk ins accepted." While I can understand this completely during the COVID times, it was surprising. I asked a server if we could go in and see if there was anything available (there were clearly empty tables on the patio but LOL duh no Megan - NO walk ins) he said we had to call and ask before going in. After attempting to call a bunch of times, getting the busy signal, and looking for somewhere else to go, I finally got through. Yes, we could come in...LOL. Maybe I am being dramatic but this just seemed so odd to me. If it was busy we would have just left, but seeing as it wasn't, the cold "welcome" was a fairly off-putting start. But that's where any sign of a bad experience ended! We were greeted by a super kind hostess who showed us to a lovely outdoor patio two seater, taken care of for the night by two great servers, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Love the beer list - I went with an Ellicottville Blood Orange and Col enjoyed a Guiness. When we ordered, the server said the kitchen was backed up and they'd have it out as soon as they could. I always really appreciate the up front honesty, though we were in no rush. Food came out fairly quick, though, and everything was fab. I enjoyed half of the cajun turkey wrap with sweet potato fries, and Col went with the Pour House burger, which was AWESOME! Brussel Sprouts and cheese and all kinds of other veggies piled high on a delicious burger. Yum. I unfortunately visited The Penfield Pour House recently while traveling on business. It's an absolute dump. Possibly the worst fries I've ever eaten. I don't know what kind of oil they use but they need to change it. Disgusting. They should also consider cleaning the bathroom more regularly, too. Whoever owns this place should be ashamed. We had talked about coming here for a long time, and finally did. They have a nice looking seating area outside with a fire pit. It was freezing and snowing the night we went though. The inside is a lot smaller than a expected. Lots of bar tables in front of the bar area, and a fairly small dining area. The tables are close together, and I wonder what the did during COVID because there just isn't a lot of space. We got the tots with no meat sauce as an appetizer. They were fine, but nothing special. I got the grilled cheese and my husband got the Pour Man's platter. They were both fine. Again, nothing special. And there was maple in my husband's brussel sprouts which he didn't really like because he does Keto. Not a big a big deal really, but he'd have liked to have known. They had an oreo lasagna for dessert that I saw someone else get. That was incredible! There was only one waiter doing the tables, so things took awhile. I wanted a side of ranch, but it took too long for me to get his attention. It also took a very long time for our check, and we ordered dessert, which usually is a signal that you're done after that. Excellent service! Stopped to sit on the welcoming outdoor patio with a friend but unfortunately it began to rain. It was midday during a more quiet time but that gave us the opportunity to speak with a manager who gave us an excellent run down of the menu and let us know all of the soups and dressings were made in house daily with fresh ingredients - so we took advantage of one of their soups and a burger salad with vinaigrette which turned out to be awesome. Our server was great, but she was on her own with a little under half the tables filled, which obviously slowed down a lot. Our first beer was pretty flat so we switched over to bottled Blue Light. The food was pretty solid, nothing that really stuck out as must have, but it was hot, portions were plenty and it tasted pretty good. Plenty of TVs in the bar area and overall a decent spot. I can see where this place could really excel if they added to their draft menu, but maybe they don't do enough business this way (hence the flat beer?) All in all, I go out of my way, but if it were convenient, I would stop in again. read more

We were in need of buffalo wings. The weather was nice, and we were in the mood to TGIF and not cook. Having heard good things about the Pour House, I tried to to call in an order to be met with a busy tone for 10 minutes, before finally navigating to their Facebook page, sending a message, and then noticing that they allow you to place an online order through the Heartland site. If it's on their main site, they may want to make this a little more explicit. If we were not set on wings from a new place, I'd have given up long before finding the order site. After that, pickup was a breeze (though, the parking lot is a little chaotic on a Friday night), and the food was well warmed so it was still a good temperature when I got home. The wings were DELICIOUS, so we'll definitely be back, and we were delighted by the idea of "Brats and Tots." Will it be our go-to place? Probably not. But we know we now have another great option in our area for those nights we REALLY need some pub food. read more

Nice venue indoors and out. The bar isn't very big and was full, but what do you expect on a Friday evening. Drinks and service were good and quick. I've only eaten here once so can't judge the food. We both had burgers. They were ok but nothing to brag about. Better than average bar food. The only complaint was from dad who always wants his burger rare which isn't a great idea anyway. Stopped into the Pour House with my parents tonight. During the week I try to stay fairly low carb so going out to eat can be tough. Having been here before I knew they had wings. I chose medium wings and a side of bacon brussel sprout hash. The wings here are fried and then grilled. It is one of the few joints around that does this. This adds a smoky flavor to the already crispy wings. Just a new dimension that improves what is a favorite food of mine. The wing sauce was flavorful. The wings were good sized. Not sure how to explain the hash but it was a perfect mixture of roasted Brussels sprouts, cabbage and bacon that was delicious. My mother ordered the buffalo Mac and cheese. Pretty straightforward, chicken, wing sauce and Mac and cheese. I tried it. It was tasty. A good spot for a good meal and possibly some brews! read more

Zero it should be, allow me to tell you my first experience... My boyfriend and I came there last week and found the bartender " John" to lie about the draft beer. I wanted a pint of " Bud Light ", the board said a buck off a pint, picture, etc. He said, "Oh well that's an old post"... like really... "who does that?" In addition, we we watch the news with the sound on and suddenly, from what I was told was the owner. Keep in mind, however, there were a total of 6 people there. He told me it was a sports bar. Okey, I get that, really, no one was there. This is a place that carries a loaf of homophobic employees and an owner to fit the bill. If you look at the web site, looks like good food, only to find out it's way overpriced. Unbelievable! I'm never going back!!! We can't say enough about The Pour House. A lot of the food is from scratch and very good! My Husband and I always get the Grilled Chicken Wings as an App, never to disappoint!!! The owner came to our table and he was so kind and welcoming, Thank you Mike! If you want to chill and enjoy the Sports Bar Atmosphere, The Pour House is the place to be! Mmmm! Great place to come for a meal and watch the games on tv. We had a delicious dinner-- side salads to start which were huge & tasty, Cajun turkey wrap & tiger chicken wrap. The tiger sauce they feature here is SO good... honey sweet sauce mixed with blue cheese I mean c'mon. I want to dip all my food in it forever. Interesting neighborhood bar and grill with a nice beer selection and broad menu. Wanted a quick lunch and Andra wanted to try their Portobello wrap so in we went. Has that neighborhood feel and was very crowded but tables were available. Nice young lady waited on us; suggested tater tots as an upgrade to the. Hips that normally come with the sandwiches. Nice beer selection but we both chose RC Colas, different from the Pepsi and Coke you see all the time. The Portobello wrap was on of the best Andra ever had and the tors very crispy. My burger was okay, nothing special but toasted bun was a nice touch. Only negative was slow service after we got our meal, the only server was our girl and she was covered up. Great news was the owner/manager came out and started helping; taking orders, cleaning tables, serving, etc. Between the two they got caught up and kept everyone topped off. Liked that personal touch and the homey atmosphere, we may stop by for drinks later and would definitely come back. I want to try their award winning white chicken chili. read more

This is such a great local spot! Great layout that's perfect for watching any sports game. Really nice staff with excellent service. Good amount of parking and outdoor patio with TV. The waitress looked at me weird when I told her my first beer was flat and then scoffed and walked away when my second one was sour... Supposedly their phone service was down so ordered online. Yes I was only charged for what they gave me but not what I ordered. Also the wings are usually fantastic but these are tiny and gross. I was last here in 2013 shortly after it opened and was not impressed. Even though it is just three miles from my house it was off my radar ever since that visit. This past weekend we returned with a large group after golfing and the experience was much improved. In the last few years they have really upgraded the outside with a pergola, TVs, and fire pits. On a nice night this would be a good hang-out spot. Not really sure what inside has changed but the outside is dramatically better. Our group of over 20 was seated indoors. Karen our waitress did a superb job of corralling this very large group - she kept everything moving and with a great attitude. The food was better than most sports bars - the wings are grilled after deep frying which gives them a deeper flavor. The Reuben was solid with moist corn beef. The side of mac & cheese was very good. Even their grilled cheese sandwich with bacon was better than expected. I plan not to wait four years between visits and we will need to sit outside... read more

Busy Friday after work, but no problem getting a seat, stopped in for wings and a drink. Hubby got the clam chowder (tasted good but very salty) and I got the Brussel Sprout/cabbage/bacon hash (got my veggies in) and we each got 6 wings. Having the wings grilled made them some of the best I've had locally. Asked for the garlic parm sauce on the side, glad I did as it was gross. Hubby got country sweet and you just can't go wrong with that. Will definitely be back for more wings. :o) read more

The owners of the Penfield Pour House have taken a long established local bar location and created a local American Pub. I'm not sure what else to call a place that is welcoming, comfortable, with great pub food (more on that later), a very good beer selection, and attentive service. I'd like to give them 4.5 stars if I could. Their beer list is well curated without doubt. Regular testing nights hosted by various local or regional breweries (currently Thursday nights) nicely punctuates it. The cocktail list is great for a pub but not amazing, but it's a pub! Food pulls it all together. They make fresh amazing pretzels, oh and try the beer cheese sauce, good burgers and even a fresh, diverse, mixed green salad. The tater tots are amazing with that beer cheese. Do you think you've tried all the great wings of Rochester? You haven't if you don't try the grilled tiger wings here. They are incredibly most, sweet, smoky, and satisfying. Service is usually amazing. Speak up if it's not. They are growing. Having been at various times of the day over a couple months though, you have a great chance at a template for the new American Pub. I can't wait to see what they do next. read more

I have to be a fan of this place! It's close to home! About 35 beers on tap which include a good selection of my already favorite brewers, and to top it off they are cheap, ranging from $3-5. Which serves as grand inspiration for the potential doodling to be made...on the paper sheet they use for table cloths. I mean, they dooo provide the crayons. I wonder if there is a contest for most creative use of crayons and paper table cloth...hrm. I'd say they should and offer a bar tab and wings prize! Ok I am dialing back. It's as if I were still there. Moving on, I order their grilled wings in Tiger sauce which is like a mix of a spicy tang and sweet. Almost as if someone mixed buffalo with country sweet and liquid smoke. This type of sauce seems to be taking off in the area. Is comparable to Dicky's "Aussie" and Jeremiah's "Bee Sting". When you ask them grilled, they are still deep fried, tossed in the sauce and then finished off in the grill for that nice charred and smoky finish. The blue cheese it was served with had that "we made/mix this" quality. Anyhoot, got my return visit in the works! My only thing about wings (and it is not just this singular visit at this bar) is the ratio of drum to wing/tip. I prefer the wing/tip, and so naturally I always get stuck with a million drum sticks. Out of an order of 10 wings, 8 pieces were drum sticks. But it's not their fault, I've been having he crappiest luck this year anyway. But it didn't upset me too much. I just stuffed my pie hole and drank until it no longer mattered. However, next time, I will go with my gut feeling and say something. The Pourhouse is one of my favorite places to watch basketball games or to just catch up with close friends. The food is always fresh and made to order. One of my personal favorites is the Veggie burger. The side salads always come with house made dressing. The staff are always friendly and fellow patrons make you feel right at home no matter who you are currently cheering for! Haha I recommend stopping by for a few beers or a great meal! read more

The Pour House is nothing fancy, but sometimes that's exactly what I'm looking for. Prices are very reasonable, drinks are good, and the atmosphere is perfect for hanging out with friends for a quick bite. There's a dart board and a couple other bar games. It's a great summer hang due to the outside seating and always burning fires. I've even seen some brave Rochester souls enjoying the flames in the winter. I haven't been overly impressed with the food, that's probably my only major complaint with this establishment. Having tried several entrees now, I think my recommendation would be to stick with appetizers. The chicken wings are AMAZING. If there's one thing you must try, it's the Tiger Wings. Pour House easily places in the top three for me as far as chicken wings go. I keep coming back, and I don't see that stopping any time soon. read more

The burger seemed to have been cooked several hours prior and was not hot. My husband ordered a burger that was somewhat charred. I am sorry the food is not getting the attention to detail anymore. We came here on a late Friday evening. The outside seems to be recently remodeled with a large patio place fitted with fire pits. Upon entering, the decor was certainly underwhelming. There is not much space to wait to be seated. Although we did not have to wait long. After being seated we waited a little bit to be served, but the waitress was very friendly and prompt. We ordered the Bavarian pretzels and cheesy tots for appetizers. The pretzels were exactly what I wanted, similar to Hooligan pub pretzels. While the tots were seasoned well, the cheese was evenly distributed; and the meat sauce was a nice complement to the tots. I ordered the Pour Man's Platter, the Brussels sprout cabbage hash was such a delight! The corned beef was thinly sliced, and plentiful. The onion rings were kind of BOMB! My fiancé got the Mac and cheese burger which he enjoyed, it was piled high, his only qualm was the bun used. Our friends both got the fish fry which was cooked well and large. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the whole visit. I'm looking forward to visiting in warmer weather to utilize the patio! read more

Aw, man. I really wanted to give this place a super review. It was so cozy, great service, and my family really enjoyed the evening. So, let's say OVERALL, this place is a great local eatery & sports bar. Drinks were served quickly, prices were reasonable, clean bathrooms, & fire pits out on a front porch. And the screens and music (perfect volume), which normally are very distracting to me, were not. My teens (and hubby) glanced at the winter olympics in between conversation and drawings on the paper table cloth (yes, when you have "teen artists" they still want the crayons). Thank you to our servers for the "art supplies!" My son and husband loved the pulled pork and steak burger. So here's the problem: I had the worst veggie burger ever. Like EVER! I'm sorry, it really was. Here's the thing: if you are going to claim to make a "house veggie burger" you're going to have to "bring it," because there are lots of vegans and vegetarians joining your "chicken wing loving" guests. But if you're not going to bring your best game....just don't. It's hard to be good at everything: you make some tasty chicken tenders, fries, onion rings, and even the salad was on point! TRUTH but if you don't have the "taste test approval" of a true VEGETARIAN, don't even try to make it yourself. It's a specialized skill, trust me! Bring the Morningstar or Beyond burger, dress it up and keep it moving! That said, I asked the hostess if there had been any feedback on the burger from other guests and she said no. She also asked if I wanted anything else; I appreciated that, but I declined. Also note: if you bring your kids for a birthday, there is no special "candle in a cupcake" or anything. So I find myself going to the Pour House more often than not these days and that in no way is a bad thing because Pour house is great. The draft list is extensive (and affordable) and TVs are everywhere. To add to the ambiance, they have some great popcorn as well. The menu features your typical bar food and comfort food. I can't say I go for the food as much as I am going to watch a game, hang out and have a drink. If I were to recommend one menu item, it would be the chicken Cesar wrap. The food is good. On Fridays they have a very good fish fry. There is a good selection of beers, but my favorite drink is the raspberry hard cider. Accessible for wheelchair users with normal height tables to the right as you enter. Sometimes it is a little tight between the bar and bar height tables in the front, but I have never failed to make it in. Their own parking lot with a handicap space (the others are close to the main entrance, which is wheelchair accessible.) The men's room is wheelchair accessible. read more
