Such a cute place :) Loved that they have complimentary valet parking . I had the Jasmine Tea-Soaked French Toast with Amaretto Sour drink pretty good.

We came to the Peacock Inn for an anniversary dinner. The service was stellar -- true fine dining. The restaurant itself is classic and beautiful. The appetizers were delicious. I did not like the salad I ordered and unfortunately the Tomahawk steak we ordered medium was overcooked. It was still very tasty, but it was a bit disappointing given how great the rest of the evening was. Another note - the restaurant was assumed valet parking. My husband does not let valets drive his car, so the situation was a little awkward.

I was taken here for dinner, I am not familiar with the area. Been working in the area for about 6 months. The place is very nice. All the food we ordered were so good. I ordered the octopus starter, it is done perfectly. The food presentation is brilliant! For entree, I ordered the red snapper, love the way it was cooked. The bottle of red wine we had went perfectly with the food. Overall, I would love to come back again! The service from valet parking to the servers, 5 stars!

Over the weekend me and my mom went to teatime here. It was a little to hot & humid to sit outside so opted to sit in the dinning room. The entire place is very quaint and lovely. The service was great. It was very enjoyable to sit there for 2 hours and not be rushed out. I have an almond allergy and unfortunately a lot of the pastries were made with almond flour. The kitchen staff went above and beyond to substitute many of the pastries to alternates I could eat. Although I can't exactly comment on the normal food selections most of mine were alternates; my tier was delicious.

Lobster tail served only in half portion.

Went for the Valentine's day prix fixe dinner last night. Overall, I'd say the food was creative and offered a variety of unique flavors. The service was slow.. as we still had to wait 20 - 30 minutes to be sat for our reservation (thankfully, the place has a nice bar). Once we were sat at our seats though, the speed of service didn't exactly improve. Our waiter was nice, but very quiet .. it would have been nice for him to explain what we were being served / provided any recommendations. For the price of the meal I did find the portions sufficient. However, if you are going to advertise "surf & turf" dinner, inclusive of lobster tail and filet mignon, it would be nice to specify it's a lobster tail cut in half (see pictures below). I thought that was very bizarre - if my partner did not choose the surf & turf as well, whose other half did I eat? Also, it was very obvious that multiple people were complaining about their service/meals, and with the maitre d loudly agreeing that the state of the restaurant has since declined... bizarre. On a very positive note, the desert was AMAZING.

Friendly, welcoming service. Intimate, romantic, quiet ambiance. The food was delicious, fresh, and creative. Dessert was heavenly.

I ordered the Grilled Chicken Wrap, which was excellent, packed with chicken and very filling. I ended up taking half home because it was both generous and delicious. The side salad was also surprisingly good. We ended up returning later for happy hour, which takes place in the room to the right of the hostess stand. I highly recommend stopping by for drinks and bites if you're in the mood for classic cocktails and solid food. Happy hour is first come, first served and limited to the bar only (around 15 seats total). We arrived right when it started, and when we left about 40 minutes later, the bar was about half full. I'd definitely come back to try their dinner or to enjoy their happy hour again.

There was a young lady sitting in the corner in the phone telling us that there were no seats if we didn't have a reservation. Not the most polite but whatever. We went back to the bar and got a table. Why are bar tables always so sticky?! Anyhoo, we just missed the Happy Jour menu but it was only a $1-2 discount (except for the burger: $4). Service was pleasant and attentive. The food was overpriced for sitting in a bar. $30 for a bowl of ramen! (I don't know how it tastes but it's $17 across the street.) $22 for a burger and fries! $10 for two little bao with a single shrimp in each! Ok, that's not too bad since Bao is generally overpriced for some reason but I could have gotten more than one shrimp. Unfortunately, the price did not reflect the quality. My friend who got the ramen said it was in the bottom 25% he's ever had. My burger was pretty good but the bun was toasted and brittle and made an unnecessary mess. The fries--personal preference--I don't like skinny fries. As for the bao, the shrimp was too salty. I liked the finishing salt but the flavoring salt was too heavy. Also, it was drizzled with aioli and I couldn't pick it up and eat it like the sandwich it was. Overall, a disappointment. Mediocre food and an elevated price for no reason.

It has a rustic farmhouse feel (wood floors with wide boards, multiple fireplaces) but still comes across as more upscale than your typical tavern. The dining room has a warm atmosphere without being too loud, so you can actually have a conversation without shouting. We started with the seasonal pickle plate (beets, carrots, cauliflower, cucumber, fennel, olives) and the bread plate (three different breads with two different butters and olive oil). Both were a good way to kick things off. The pickled vegetables had a nice variety and the bread was fresh and paired well with the accompaniments. For our entrees, my wife went with the homemade pasta while I chose the Wagyu NY strip steak cooked medium rare with bourbon maple glazed root vegetables. The steak was cooked exactly as requested and had great flavor. The root vegetables added a nice sweetness that complemented the dish well. My wife really enjoyed her pasta and had enough to take some home. To finish the night, we had the mozzarella gelato (yes, you read that right - mozzarella), along with tea for my wife and coffee and Sambuca for me. The gelato was a unique dessert and a nice way to wrap up the meal. Our waitress Jemma was very friendly and attentive throughout the night without being overbearing. Overall, everything was very good. This is definitely a place we would return to, especially for a nice dinner out.

All of the dishes were excellent.  Also had a side of Fioretto Cauliflower $12 that was creative though not too plentiful.  Really appreciated that they list the farms where they source their ingredients.  The beers were superb, Hazy IPA, Bohemian Pilsner and Keller Pils.  The sports bar has a different menu with more of the types of dishes you'd expect at a brew pub. It is however dark and less inviting. In part that's the rub here. As much as we appreciated the quality of the food and gorgeous setting the fact that it is part of a brewery becomes somewhat irrelevant. We had beer because we were there but the dishes begged for wine. I'd have preferred a beautiful beer hall rather than the full fine dining experience. Just a bit too upscale for a brewery. I opted for one of their brews, I think a dark lager, which tasted pretty good, though I didn't end up finishing it. Pretty chill spot in my opinion, would come back for another outing with friends or colleagues.

Here I go again--another French bistro I absolutely adore…read more Christine's French Bistro is everything you want in a cozy, decadent French spot: small, intimate, softly lit with sconces, and anchored by a beautiful bar you can dine at or just sip champagne and linger. Let's be honest--I come here for one reason: the soufflés. They are my kryptonite. Sweet or savory, they never disappoint. I've had the chocolate (rich, decadent, flawless), though I'm still chasing my ultimate favorite--the elusive Grand Marnier soufflé. One day... Beyond that: * Mussels + champagne = always a win * Service is warm and welcoming * Prices feel fair for the quality and experience This place has become part of my ritual when I'm in the area. I'll fly into Newark Liberty International Airport, hop on the Amtrak Acela, get off in Princeton, head straight here, and yes--plan my trip around a soufflé. No regrets. The location is perfect--right in the heart of Princeton, which is one of those charming, walkable towns with tree-lined streets and that classic, almost European feel. There's garage parking nearby, but honestly, once you're there, you won't need your car. Perfect for: * Date night * Dessert and champagne with friends * Solo bar seating (highly recommend) Bottom line: Elegant, cozy, and worth going out of your way for--especially if you love a proper soufflé.
