Boro is a cute space with a decently sized bar. The dining room also manages to feel intimate and cozy because there aren't tons of tables. We started by ordering the crispy chicken, and I ordered a drink from the bar. The crispy chicken was the highlight of the night--very flavorful. The drink arrived 15 minutes after ordering, when we were halfway through the appetizer. I could see the bartender moving slowly, and I heard other patrons complaining about the wait time. It happens, and if the rest of the experience was good, I wouldn't have even remembered that. Our waitress brought us some bread, which was a bit stale, but the butter was fantastic. Our main courses were very average--I had the grilled branzino, which is a simple dish but just lacked flavor or anything to make it stand out. My husband ordered the short rib pappardelle, and the pasta itself was good. The sauce was very, very heavy due to too much truffle. By the time we finished eating, we were fully sweating because the restaurant was so hot. It was a very hot day, and maybe the air-conditioning was not working. Again, forgivable, but on top of everything else, it made for an unpleasant experience. Overall, it felt overpriced for the food and service. read more

The decor is nice. I was waited on by the bartender, Mario. I had a cocktail. It was good, yet warm which was interesting. I had 6 oysters, which were also a tad warm. Not use to warm, room temp raw oysters but they were ok. He said they came in the morning. I had the burger. I asked for medium rare. It was well done and not very good to be honest. I hate writing not too great reviews, especially because I was looking forward to trying this place. But the burger was very dry, a lot of cold, dry bread. Would never order again. Not a warm vibe. There's not a single dish I had that wasn't excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. Food is always fresh and delicious. Beautifully decorated and a nice place for a date night. The last time we visited about a year ago this was 5 solid stars but this recent visit was not the same. We also noticed that the place is starting to show wear and not as appointed as it was on our last visit. We came for happy hour which was really only $1-2 off of a selection of menu items. We tried the $20 burger and it was ok. The charcuterie board was not that impressive either. I pulled up a photo of the last time we had it and it was not even close in quality, selection, and quantity. The arancini were small and swimming in sauce and totally over salted to the point we couldn't eat them. The fries were just ok. On a higher note the cocktails were done to perfection and presented well. Overall, I felt that for the prices they charge we should be fully impresssed but this visit was mediocre at best. read more

Don't go it's a rip off. Ordered a fila mignon . Told server I wanted it medium rare and asked if it was a tender piece . Well it wasn't at all . Neither tender or cooked to my specification . I couldn't even cut it with my special steak knife and it was so over cooked it was actually black on top from the broiler . Plus the little potato that comes with it was charred black too. The appetizers were small for 16.00 each it was a big rip off . Also service stunk. I sent my meal back it was so bad and asked for a burger instead . Well good thing I checked the bill because the server had never removed the fila from the bill And at 42.00 which in itself is ridiculous I was also charged a tip fee on top of that since we were a large party and the tip was included in the bill. Came on a Saturday for the first time for my birthday dinner. Incredibly disappointed with the food and the prices. The menu online is not the menu they presented us when seated. Frustrating because I came in for my birthday because the menu online looked great, but wasn't the one they were serving. Drinks were OK. Nothing to drink for us sweet drinkers - everything is dry. My husband said the drink he had was OK which is why I have two stars rather than one. Ordered the egg roll special, flavor was OK but meat was so dry. Husband ordered steak medium rare and came out well done. My mom ordered a burger well done and came out raw so they mustered through eating it but feedback was it was chewy and hard to cut and just not worth the price. During this time the table next to us just got up and left and another table had their food sent to the wrong table. Rough night. The server forgot to put our side in so that came after we were just done with the experience and didn't eat it. I got the ravioli and the sauce was so off putting I couldn't do it. Manager came by and gave us a gift card but we won't be back at all. $200+ for this dinner for us all to barely eat. Food is unique. Some items are hit or miss. Chicken chili 10/10. Tuna tartar, personally not a fan, but if you appreciate lentils then yeah probably up your ally. The happy hour prices aren't really happy hour prices, and please don't say "value" because the portions were very stingy. You want the asthetic or quick overpriced lunch with really not great service, sure. Otherwise spend the $ elsewhere. Some happy hour items were incorrect on my bill. I let them know on the way out and didn't take the correction because $2 off an item for happy hour was robbery regardless. Fortunately for this place there are limited fine dining lunch options giving Boro the ability to fit this niche. Ambiance is consistently nice, 4 walls, water runs... If they want to charge what they charge they need better service or have better food. I 1st discovered this place by accident looking for oysters after having a bad experience at a restaurant that shut down not far from Boro. I walked in during happy hour and tried the CHAMPAGNE MIGNONETTE, and one of their specialty cocktails and was hooked. I tried the poached pear and it was unique, with a semi-sweet lavender syrup. It was very tender ... and delicious. For my bday we ordered the PAPPARDELLE/SHORT RIB & seafood ravioli (I no longer see this on the menu). We also ordered the Smoke & Mirrors and the LV cocktails soooo good. The Smoke and Mirrors definitely has smoky taste. I have no idea how they knew it was my bday because I didn't mention during the reservation nor did my date.... nice touch. Will be back! read more

This was our second time here. It is our daughter's local fav spot. We sat in the dining area last time. This time we sat at a corner table in the bar area. Place has a cozy yet upscale feeling. Today, we went mid afternoon after visiting a local new brewery. Cocktails were on the mark. Espresso martini, a cosmo, some smoked mezcal elixir and I had a Hendricks with blue cheese stuff olives. All on the mark. We were all craving burgers. But after hearing the menu additions, I decided on the oysters and mussels. The girls had the burgers. We also ordered some caviar topped potato puff pasty which was very yummy. Oysters and mussels were perfect. Burger perfect medium the way the girls like it. Service is always very attentive. When I first walked in, I was thinking this might be a new place for us when I got that bill of $500 at the end of the night I couldn't believe it. I took my wife here for her birthday dinner. This was our first time dining at this restaurant. My wife said she wanted halibut for her special day. I did a search for restaurants serving halibut currently on their menu. Boro was one of the few that showed up. It is relatively close to where we live and we have been wanting to try it out since they opened. They did not disappoint! Five stars all day! The BEST dining experience we've had in a long time. We decided to come the day after Valentines as it was quiet. We often have odd dining experiences, from our first date 20 years ago to last month. This is my second time at Boro, my wife has been there a couple more times. What sets this restaurant apart is not just the food, but the service. Genuine smiles when we arrived and left. We were sat next to a couple with 4 kids. Not a big deal for us as we have two. The kids were great. As they were leaving, only 15 minutes after we sat, our server said they paid for our first round. It was such a nice gesture even though they were no problem to us. Ok, the food and drinks. I've been hooked on this cocktail recently, a Paper Plane. I asked if they could make it and they sure could. It requires one specific brand of Italian spirit so I was really impressed. My wife had a cool cosmo with white cranberry juice and elderflower liqueur. The reason I will come here for one thing and one thing only is their Crispy Chicken Appetizer. It's everything that you ever wanted sesame General Tso's chicken to be, and more! Just enough so that you'll lick the bowl clean and order some to go...I did. The lobster risotto and chicken we had for entrees were fantastic. I just want to make sure Siri is accurate next to time someone asks for best restaurants in the area. 4.3 stars was a steep rating. This place presents as an upscale wannabe Italian restaurant. Food: Make sure you ask for the bread with sweet butter(It is delicious). I do not usually complain about food, but they asked and I was honest. Honestly the best thing I tasted at the table was the $18 kids burger and the $22 "Brisket" Burger(A typical burger with what you would add on a brisket. The Parpadelle pasta was delicious(the physical pasta not the crock pot shredded short rib. The broccoli rabe had no flavor at all, the chicken cutlet tasted like a refried Bell and Evans frozen cutlet.(very dry). The kids chicken fingers actually tasted better than the cutlet. Finally , the rib eye(cooked Medium) was pretty tasty and cooked to the correct temp. I will say that Texas Roadhouse $25 ribeye is better though. Service: Extremely slow, but the waitress explained that the kitchen was backed up tonight. We were brought the wrong food all night and it took about an hour to get the meal. I'm actually really surprised that management didn't even offer a free beverage for the long wait. Following the meal, we went to pay and we paid for the wrong bill which was as 200 dollars more. (They still didn't even credit anything for the inconvenience!) After not receiving any kind of credit for the awful service and mediocre food, I made sure to say that I would not be a repeat customer anyways loud enough for the locals at the bar to hear.... . We had dinner reservations at 4pm. It was not crowded yet and there seemed to be a lot of staff on hand waiting around but for some odd reason, we had to wait for our food for a very long time. Even for appetizers. We did not leave until after 6pm. Other than the long wait for our meals, the service that we did receive was okay except for the fact that no one stopped by to check on us or update us on the food. I went here with a group of 6 moms for Book club and what a surprise! I live down the street and have never been in! For a Wednesday late evening, it was. Bustling! It's in a small shopping plaza but you wouldn't be able to tell once inside, it seems very comfy, beautifully decorated and big! The atmosphere and vibe were romantic and fun! The parking lot was full but there was parking at the old TD behind it or at Pennington market. That busy on a Wednesday night? Well I could tell why once there! The drink menu, everything looked so good, it was hard to choose but I settled on a lady Viking, it was delish! I got a brisket burger. So yummy! Everyone loved their meals. The service was very good. If I had one remark, it would be the prices, I love a good au pouvre sauce but $48 for a steak is quite a bit and most of their menu seemed higher quality/on par for the price but that one stood out to me. Maybe on an anniversary dinner I'll have to try it! Definitely recommend and I'll be back! We started with two martinis (1 chocolate, 1 fig martini), two appetizers (calamari and scallops), two entrees (filet & chicken), 2 sides (Brussel sprouts & creamed spinach), 1 bottle of Sauvignon blanc, 1 dessert (creme brûlée), and 2 espresso martinis to end. WE SPENT $310.00 (INCLUDING 20% TIP) and for the hostess to approach us and tell us we needed to finish due to another table waiting and that we had been there a while is just completely rude! Not to mention the hostess approached us shortly after paying our bill and receiving our martinis! My friend even asked if we could have 5 min to finish our drink before being kicked out! I understand if we were holding up a table and not ordering anything but we clearly ordered a lot! We weren't even seated at a table...we were seated at a high top! Another thing, the website advertises happy hour Tuesday-Sat from 4-6pm and we were charged full price! It cost us $14 for 1 martini, wayyy too over priced in my opinion. We also couldn't sit at the bar bc the entire section was closed off for a holiday party. Wish I could give a better rating but what happed to us left a sour taste in my mouth. Boro Market has taken over half the strip center at the corner of Delaware Avenue and Route 31, and turned it into an elaborate dining room, small cafe and epicurean market for those who like to indulge in their charcuterie fantasies. I was the sole morning person there today when I stopped in to check out their early day fare. Pretty impressive, is all I can say. The rear cafe space is large window sunshine bright, with a few deuce tables and two 4 stool counter shelves beneath the windows. Their refrigerator display case holds some mighty fine looking lunch/dinner possibilities that were mostly vegan, vegetarian and probably organic. My Breakfast Sandwich (eggs, bacon, melted provolone, mozzarella) came in a terrific sesame seeded torpedo roll from an Italian (?) bakery that produces artisanal aqua y farina. It looked as good as it tasted. From first crusty bite through last mastication, it was a phenomenal sandwich; so big I could only devour half in one sitting. Service is begun at the counter, and delivery by the staff completes it. Friendly and assured all the way. Certainly not the cheapest place to start the day, but justifies that occasion splurge. The locally roasted Java is also worth the price of admission, and can be purchased whole bean/ground there as well. read more

I will say that i was on the edge of 3 stars vs. 4 stars. The drinks, as people pointed out, are a little stingy on the amount. I think the selection and their house cocktails are pretty good and tasty, but would have to agree that they could do that extra second of pour to make it a bit nicer. Mussels and cockles was very delightful. Very tasty and the server knew well to bring us more bread for us to sop up the delicious broth. The food, was pretty tasty. A person in our party had the shrimp parpadelle. This was a little odd to me - pretty used to a meat ragu. I think that they also put Parmesan cheese on it - which my italian friends would say is a no-no. I think the other problem was that it had a TON of olives which was also a little odd - overpowered the shrimp and all other tastes. Personally, would go back to the meat sauce and do some sort of angle hair seafood pasta of sorts. Idea on the parpadelle is right but just... not a fan of this dish. I had the pork chop. Very well seasoned and well cooked. Very juicy and impressively spot on. Also with a side of Brussels - very well cooked - but MAYBE a touch too much char... still, very good... well... too much char... haha. It was close but i would prefer there to be just a little less.
