First off a public service announcement( again) about not burdening loved ones with restaurant.com gift cards. However if you do find yourself trying to use them, take advantage of the offer here. If you are staying in this hotel( Crowne plaza, formerly Scanticon ) you would be wise to eat here with the discount. It's a small bar and dining room, but tastefully appointed and overlooking a wooded area with small lake and fountain. The drink menu is sparse but also features reasonably priced wines, even available as flights. The food menu is also small, but I believe there is a small plates menu we didn't see. But there are choices for most diners, kids and vegetarians included. Trish probably had the better meal, a premium( supposedly) piece of salmon simply seared and served with a light butter sauce. It came with multicolored fingerlings and Swiss chard. Both of which were lightly seasoned and properly cooked. I played it safe with a chicken dish, the organic bird was moist and tender, but the skin that had been nicely crisped at some point became wet when reheated or plated. This came with perfectly roasted multicolored cauliflower and mashed parsnips. Both sides were not your typical offering, and I was impressed with the fall sensibilities of the chef. We agreed we would return again to use up those gift cards, maybe for the breakfast buffet that sounds pretty good. For those staying here you could certainly do much worse if venturing elsewhere for a meal. Solid hotel dining.

Vince found this restaurant on Restaurant.com - always a hit or miss. But . . . HIT here! We were actually the first guests seated and we liked the decor and view but weren't sure how our meals were going to be. I started w/ a 1/2 Caesar salad. Very good and not 'drowned' in dressing. The croutons were harder than I like but fine. No biggie. My salmon, accompanied by fingerling potatoes and swiss chard, was very good. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was a pretty nice size too. Vince's chicken was tasty, although a bit plain for me overall. It came with mashed parsnips and multicolored califlower. (How did we get this healthy-minded ?!!) When initially looking at the menu online, I was all set for the pappardelle dish but, unforuntately, it wasn't on Saturday night's menu. A family behind us had the tacos - they looked yummy. I also heard a teen behind us saying that "this is the best burger I've ever had." Who knows. I don't think we'd make a special trip to Forrestal but would def go back again with another coupon in hand!

I was told the best chef in town made this.

The food here was subpar at best, the staff is careless and it is not worth the money. Id maybe come back for a drink if I'm staying here but that's it. I got the spinach artichoke dip I think there was 5 pieces of spinach in it total the rest was cheese, not to mention the bread instead of chips. I also got the brisket short rib burger medium. It tasted like a way over cooked frozen standard beef burger very disappointed. If you like French fries and pickles this is the place you you

Well played. This is their strawberry shortcake

We had dinner here for group of 5. The entire time that we ate at this restaurant, on a Friday night, the place was completely empty. Upon seating we were given two different menus. One menu was for their upstairs bar Flight and a menu for the restaurant itself. The dishes available were expensive, as expected for a hotel restaurant. The selection was varied but sparse. There are only 5 entree choices. For a "grill" there were not very many grill options. The waitress is kind and polite and very attentive which we expected considering we are the only guests there. The food that we did order was cooked well but nothing spectacular. I ordered some sort of blue drink, I cannot remember but it is one of their specials. It was mixed way too strong with blue caracao and I had to request and mix it with an entire glass of pineapple juice to help flavor. When asked about boxing our leftovers we were very promptly handed styrofoam box. At the price level this restaurant is at I expected them to box up to leftovers for us.

Breakfast was disappointing. Expensive buffet - not wonderful. Upstairs bar was open for dinner. The Swiss mushroom burger was excellent.

It was Saturday night in Princeton, 5 family members were unexpectedly in town supporting my cousin's swim meet and we needed a place to go for dinner.

The gentleman at the counter who received us was kind enough to bring over a cake with a candle, as it was my birthday and that with a mango juice we requested outside of the menu for our 2 yr old were both covered on the house. Now when it comes to the food, we ordered a Gobi Manchurian, Baingan Bharta with Naan and a plate of vegetable biryani. The Manchurian was cold and lacked salt that I had to request to have rest of the order served hot which was taken care. But we found the Baingan more oily and the biryani not being extraordinary (portion size was huge for two adults) But overall, they have great ambiance and the close-by parking is street parking which might be tight on rush hours.

He seated us ever so promptly. The iced tea was fresh and delicious. We got yummy chicken 65 & another chicken dish.... That was so amazingly flavorful and delicious. Entrees were chicken biriyani and palak paneer with garlic naan. Everything was garnished nicely. Such an appealing presentation. We were here for two hours.

The steak was unbelievable, and the au gratin potatoes were delicious! I could rave about the Caesar salad.. although I do wish there were more croutons Our waitress, Jenny, was an absolute sweetheart, and worked very hard. She was very attentive and very personable and she definitely made the experience more enjoyable. They did surprise us, and they brought out a cheesecake to celebrate. Also, do yourself a favor and get the pomegranate martini... or two.

Once inside,…read morethey couldn't find our reservation, but when we showed them our confirmation, they were able to accommodate us. They called the names of 2 parties back to back who weren't there, and then asked our name and the names of the other group who were waiting, and seated us about 5 mins later. They seemed to be a bit unorganized. Service by Ryan was good, however, there were a few misses. He never asked if we were celebrating anything, which we were --a birthday. They put bacon on my salad even though I requested it be omitted, I had to ask three times for the appetizer to be boxed, as we couldn't finish it, and it was in the way now that our entrees were brought out. A manager came by the table to check in and we told him we had a birthday at the table, but there was no acknowledgment at all. At another Ruth's they decorated the table, and comped a glass of champagne. Nothing major, but it's the little things that make service special. The food at this location was good -we enjoyed the stuffed chicken, filet with shrimp, goat cheese artichoke dip and crab cakes. The wedge salad was ok, but the cheesecake was too thick, and neither of us liked it after each taking a bite. Ryan removed it from the bill. Overall the dining experience at this location was just ok.
