We consulted perfect puppy who requested that we do not give a negative rating and possibly some arrangement could be worked out. At this time we were hopeful there was possibly some treatment. The dog was diagnosed with hypochondro dysplasia Both parents must possess this recessive gene for offspring to inherit this. They are all barking and crying, BEGGING you to take them out of this disgusting environment. It's heart breaking and one of the saddest sights I've ever seen. Do not go here. Do not buy a dog. I understand people get upset when it comes to buying over adopting- but the way I look at it is, if i had not bought my dog there that day- God knows if she had been bought and she probably would have ended up at a shelter anyway. We brought our yorkie home and ended up at the animal hospital a day later he had kenel cough which according to his his papers he already was treated for kennel cough while in the pet store which says that they probably never did a follow up.We spent the next two weeks going back and forth to the vet that the owner sent us to .My 3lb puppy ended up with pneumonia. He struggled to breathe all night for days I sat up and had to run the shower 2-3 times to help him .One night he was laying in my arms while I was sitting with the shower going and he was really struggling to breathe I came out crying to my husband to take him because I couldnt watch him suffer so he called the owner and told him we were taking him back to East Greenwich animal hospital it was close to 9:00 pm we had already talked about the lemon puppy law in which he would have to reimburse us all the $ up to the amount we paid which was $1500 he wanted to drive to my house from Situate to my house in Coventry and take the puppy saying he had a specialist he would take him to .I knew he wasnt going to go out of his way to save him he just didnt want another bill I wanted to know what specialist and where he finally admitted that he was going to take him back to the store and put him in an isolated room and take him to his Vet in the morning..I was not letting him take him so not only would he be struggling to breathe but he would be alone and scared. we agreed to wait till morning and meet him there first thing. they did exrays and both lungs had fluid in them.I started to believe if he had taken him that night I wasnt going to see my puppy again! they did the exrays and changed his medication . I was still having to sit in the bathroom with the steam for almost another week. I have another dog she is the sweetest little girl but because I had not spent any time with her and we had to keep them apart because of kenal cough .so my dog hates him and hasctried to attack hin a few times we now have to take turns keeping then apart .my poor puppy is doing much beter. now we now are having trouble getting reimbursed for the hospital bill they sent us a check for $45 and wrote in the memo reimbursement fir expenses!! we didnt cash the check and called the Attorneys Generals office they said they have 90 days to pay us but we cant cash the check! We even called the breeder and informed her of the situation.she seemed nice and was very upset then we found out he biught the dog from he for $300 and sold him for $1500 and she had already had all his first shots before she sold him ..thats a lot of money that he should have used to take care of his kennel cough..so its been about a month and my little Tido is very. happy.I I strongly suggest to not ever go there they may fool you into thinking they care but its all bout $$$$ I wish there were a way to close him down.. read more

There was so much paper work and waiting for someone to contact you, we just kept looking in other places and getting the same run around. If there were less paper work and more meeting of the family, than more animals would have good homes. We were told about The Perfect Pet by friends that had a good experience there. We visited the web site and found a puppy we would like to meet. We were met on entering the store by a man named Caleb, We had a good feeling entering the store, it was very clean and also smelled clean. Caleb was very pleasant, and very knowledgeable about our new puppy. There was a room to get acquainted with your new puppy, The other dogs were in their own cubicles they were very clean and seemed happy and safe. Before leaving the store, a lady cradled our puppy in her arms and washed and groomed her. Our puppy is very healthy and happy and adds more love in our home. I want to thank the whole staff there in Scituate ! We got a yorkiechon and she is the best thing in our lives. My vet said she is in perfect health and she is bringing so much joy into our home and life. She is so happy and we are too. Thank you for sending us to the groomer because she was wonderful with her too. I tried adopt a pet and petfinder with 7 different agencies. They broke my heart and were awful people to deal with. There are pictures posted and comments from someone that recently purchased a dog that was okayed to leave the store 24 hours before purchase and when the owner noticed the dog was sick within 12 hours the dog was in the emergency vet in intensive care with pneumonia and on top of that ear mites! I had read all the reviews before heading to the Scituate location. To be honest, I figured I wouldn't be making a purchase because of these reviews but they had several dogs to look at in the breed I was most interested in. To be honest folks, I am 68 years old and I remember when just about every pet store sold dogs and cats. The cages back then were incredibly small. The fact is, nearly all thoroughbred dogs come from puppy mills that we'd rather call breeders. That's why you make an appointment to see breeder dogs. They clean things up and you never see the bowels of the operation. That's a fact. My experience at Perfect Puppy was excellent. After petting dogs in one pen, I was not allowed to pet others. Makes perfect sense to me. One dog I was very interested in had not had their stool examined by the vet so it was off limits for me to purchase. I asked a million hard questions regarding the care and treatment of these animals. I was satisfied with the answers and knowledge of the staff. The animals are in solid-walled pens but much larger than I expected after reading the reviews. I ended up purchasing a different breed and the vet says he is extremely healthy. In my mind, a place that feeds their animals $50 a bag dog food can't be all bad. I'm sure many out there, after purchasing the pet, will switch to a cheaper food ASAP. And do we ever know if the humans purchasing these dogs are actually taking them to a "better" home? As for me, I was very satisfied with the experience. I am always concerned with the mistreatment of any animal or human. I saw nothing of the kind taking place. A store selling various breeds of dogs is never going to have the accommodations that the animal will have once they have a permanent home. I hope all of you who complained have the same compassion and concern for the thousands of homeless people we have sleeping outside every night. I bought a puppy Neapolitan mastiff puppy from Perfect Puppy December 2018. Today we had to put our 14 month old puppy to sleep. We went to Ocean State and they she had a neurological disorder . She could not walk and was not eating. Before we took our puppy home from Perfect Puppy they kept her over a month saying they were treating her from kennel cough. They knew she was not sound. I purchased my beagle from here. She was ten months old. The night I took her home she was coughing so bad and had no energy. I called the Perfect puppy the next day and they sent me to their vet and paid for the bill, which was nice, but my little puppy had a respiratory infection. After a week on medication she got better (though she had to stay on meds for a month). Shes a beautiful little 2 year old girl now and I love her to pieces. But it concerns me that she was so ill and no one noticed that when she laid down she would cough through the night. Also she was penned with a bunch of other beagles. Which could have infected the others. However, the owners were very kind and Im sure they had a few hiccups when they started the business. We bought a German Shepard here about a year and a half ago. Not long after the store opened and way before all the negativity came about the store. Our German Shepard is 2 now and is going to need two hip replacements. When we went back to the Perfect Puppy and asked them what they were going to do about it, if they would pay for any of the vet bills of her surgery, they said no. They would give us half of our money back or we could get a full refund if we returned our dog. AKA she would go to a pound or be put down. Because what person would want a year old German Shepard with hip problems. On top of having hip problems at the age of two, she has serve psychological problems that are the affect of inbreeding. This place should be shut down. No remorse for these sick dogs they are selling to families. If i was looking to buy a puppy now I would never buy one from here again. read more

I was very pleased with the perfect puppy I purchased a beautiful Australian Shepherd and took her home. she is well behaved and in great health. She and my 2 year old daughter are already the best of friends. I noticed that all the dogs at perfect puppy were very loving and gentle Right down to the beautiful Rottweiler who' s demeanor was sweat and loving. they are wonderful dogs. If you are looking for a full bread dog I would suggest going by and checking the place out. They are definitely animal lovers and they take good care of these dogs. I am an animal activist with very high opinions on how animals should be treated and I was not alarmed at all for these dogs the only thing is getting them homes and that is on us people who are supposed to love and nurture these divine fuzzy babies. I bought a puppy from the Warwick location a week ago, he had an ear infection the first 4 days and now i found out he has kennel cough after going to the vet at 3 in the morning. I'm hoping nothing else happens and this kennel cough clears up. I'm so so sad my family and I love this puppy so much already. I've yet to call them but as soon as they open I'm going to be contacting them and hopefully there's something they can do considering they do have a 2 year health guarantee on their puppies, and the puppy lemon laws in RI. It's just so upsetting seeing my puppy like this. He isn't himself, very lethargic, I've noticed giving him teaspoons of honey really helps his dry throat as well as a humidifier, but it doesn't matter because I would hope I wasn't sold a sick puppy. I went with my daughter to see if they had any pugs and fell in love with a english bulldog that was already 3 months old and extremely overpriced at 2900 I had a issue with the computer at the store with my personal email so the girl proceeded to use my phone to complete the paperwork soon I went on my happy way, I returned home only to find that my golden was getting aggressive with the puppy,the pet store was closed so I brought the puppy to my daughters for the night. I called and explained my circumstances and they said I could return the puppy and I would only be charged 50%..Mind you I had this puppy less than 48 hrs.Wags on the other hand was amazing and understood how heartbroken I was to have to return the puppy and would not charge me but I would have to take up the additional amount with perfect puppy. I emailed and did not even get a response.So I am out 800.00 for a puppy that was returned for his safety and they will sell again for a grossly over priced amount....My advice stay clear of this place they are new and not easy to work with...The dogs are extremely overpriced .....Buyers Beware read more
