Stacey is an incredible manicurist. I initially found her through the CND website as I had been getting my nails done elsewhere but the builder gel/structured gel my former nail tech used didn't jive with my nails and I was constantly getting lift. I do better with a thinner gel like Shellac which I've always had positive outcomes with since first using it almost 15 years ago - if it ain't broke don't fix it! I'm also very particular with the gel removal process in order to maintain the integrity of my nails and Stacey does NOT e-file my polish off but wraps my nail with a cotton ball soaked in acetone to break the seal and then gently scrapes it off with an orange wood stick - zero nail damage! This is the only way that works for me. She guarantees no chipping for 14 days and while I could even go longer in between manicures since her work is solid, I don't like the grow out process so I stick to every two weeks. Also, her manicures are waterless which is my preference and she is not overly aggressive with the cuticles which is hard to find. So many times nail techs are cutting away the proximal nail fold/live skin rather than just taking off the dead skin. Long story short, go to Stacey! read more

Perfectly pathetic. Sorry to say, unprofessional management and employees. Katie Hatch, the hairdresser, does not answer the phone nor replies to requests for appointment. The manager said you need to leave multiple messages with a very "detailed" explanation of who you are because she might not know if you are a stocker! As if she is running a brothel. What a joke for a rundown place. No wonder they have few to no clientele. Makes you question if some illicit activity going on to pay the rent. read more

Let me repeat that in case you glossed over it the first time. The. Most. Awesome. Nail. Salon. EVER. You know, it is so awesome, that it is like staring into a bright light. I don't want you to go blind. So I will start out with its peripheral awesomeness. First, it is only a few doors down from one of the best chocolate shops ever. Want to treat yourself to a spa pedicure and some goodies? Check. Next, it is across the street from a place that makes a mean espresso drink and salad. In fact, they even have a salad named after the owner of The Perfect Ten.....go in and ask for The Darcy. It is around the corner from the best frozen yogurt place in south county. So again....make a day of it. Still not sold? Ok, let us stare directly into the light, shall we? All of the technicians here are exactly that: technicians. They are experts at their craft and have the education to prove it. They will tell you why they are doing what they are doing to your nails, and help make your nails look better. You will not find shoddy work here, no sirree. These ladies are serious about their work. Until I started coming here, I had really given up on my hands. My nails are weak and damaged, and I have horrible cuticles. I have always wanted them to look pretty but didn't know what to do about it. After coming to Stacy, I now get compliments on my hands all of the time. My friends are slowly starting to become loyal clients as well after seeing how amazing her work is. My nails are also much healthier and I know what to do to keep them looking fantastic. Stacy works here Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday, and alternate Saturdays, and if she isn't available there are three other wonderful techs that would love to make your hands and feet happy. The price is great too. Soak-off Gel Polish (OPI's Axxium) is $20 for polish only. They have over 20 colors and you can walk out without wet nails and not worry about them chipping. It truly is an amazing product. If gel-polish is not your thing, you will have about 60 different polish choices for a regular manicure or pedicure. You can also get a full set of acrylics and be sure that they will be put on (and removed!) properly so that your nails aren't damaged. Stacy has a billion options including glitter and other cool stuff if you want your nails to look unique. Did you know that a GOOD pedicure will last you 3 weeks? I sure didn't. Really, I could go on and on, but the bottom line is, they do what is best for your nails, and that is why I keep coming back. You get treated like you are at a spa but without the super-spa prices. It may be slightly more expensive than your average chop-shop, but knowing that everyone is taking care of my nails is worth any price. read more

Having had acrylic nails on for over 17 years, I had decided that they were the result of evolution. I could no longer open cans, mail, gift wrap, etc. without the use of what my boyfriend has deemed my "claws." However, after moving to San Clemente I couldn't believe that after trying almost all of the nail places I couldn't find anyone to make my nails look good, not lift and stay nice for at least 2 weeks. Once again, I turned to my fellow Yelpers for help. I came across the review for The Perfect Ten and saw that the ratings were high and decided that it may be worth a shot. First, I was shocked when I called to find out that the person on the other end spoke clear and audible English. I'm not trying to hate here, but if you're going to be in the service industry you should be able to communicate with your clientele in a clear and understandable fashion. Enough on that, I was pleased to not only find out that I wouldn't have to wait forever for an appointment but that the rates were not outrageous in spite of the fact that clearly this salon is not like the neighborhood "chop shops" in any way. Stacey does my nails and not only do I enjoy our conversations during my visits, she's actually helping me rehab my hands so I can be acrylic-free. I never thought that'd happen and now I am forced to live forever in San Clemente so I don't have to go anywhere else. Really rude service. The lady belittled me for not knowing what an enhancement was and whispered to her client something about how "people show up not knowing what they want." She was very condescending and rude. I ended up turning around and walking out the door, didn't want to waste my time. I went to Mingees across the street instead and they were all very nice and helpful. Don't let the name fool you because this salon is definitely NOT a perfect ten. read more

I really enjoyed the experience; however, my nails were the pits :( I've had acrylics for over 10 years and have never had an issue until now. I love these Ladies. I had to start wearing acrylic nails due to a reaction with a medication that made my nails very brittle. In the beginning I broke a bunch due to my own rough treatment, but each and every time the entire staff would go out of their way to squeeze me in for a repair. Kim is my regular tech, and it wasn't until people started going out of their way to comment on my nails did I realize the job she was doing. I did some nail watching and it was clear to see I was wearing perfection. My nails present a challenge due to the nature of their shape, but I am never disappointed. Plenty of parking in the back of the store. The atmosphere is Friendly, the facility very clean, and provides a pleasant experience each and every time I go.
