I made an appointment for a gel manicure and after talking to my nail tech, Jenny, we decided to do gel x and a cute design. She was very helpful helping me choose what to do after I showed her a couple pictures of things I liked. She did a wonderful job and I love my nails! Everyone there was super friendly and it was such an enjoyable experience. They also offer complimentary drinks when you arrive and to my surprise they had my favorite mini soda, cherry coke. Anyone else feel like resting your eyes as you "pamper" yourself. Trusting the nail tech knows what they're doin. They carry a 4+ rating etc .. only to get home and nails start popping off. Clearly I was confused man! But on this day I was by the beach in zen felt like continuing my peace.. ended up here (20mins from home) accidentally returned on a Sunday but there was a car show obvi very busy time to come. Came the next day letting them know my struggle if I could please get my nails fixed. They asked me to come back when the manager was there, I waited outside. Came back and she said it was too busy (almost empty) but it's ok can I just take my money and go somewhere else. She refused (just crazy I waited for this.. thinking they would have better customer service honestly that's why I waited. Instead she didn't take any responsibility, cared-less about making me wait.. wanted me to wait some more and refused to give me a refund) I was saddened by the lack of empathy when I called this lady 'humble' only days before. Forced to take half (not including my tip) it felt like pity money. But I have pity for the ones who don't care about customer satisfaction. What is the point of your shop if you only see people as money and not happiness, that is why they get their nails did anyway. It's a luxury. Had to go to the nail salon up the street BELLA and they left my nails 100x better. It's already been over 8 hrs. Can't say that about this sloppy shop. Oh yeah it was the 'manager' Tracy, don't let her near your nailsss. Girl has NO idea SHE LOLOLOVEEE TO ARGUE If I could give it a zero I def would. Product & customer service FOR SURE 99 cent store. Update because I came back for them to fix: they look just as bad - I should've had them soaked off and gone somewhere else. Every time I've come here I've had to have my nails redone - this is my 4th visit and my last. It's so hard to find good nail techs anywhere in the area. I came in for a basic gel color change manicure. The boy doing my nails was not friendly. Didn't say a word. I told him I was growing my nails out and to not cut them. I've worked really hard at getting them healthy and long. He then filed off any length I had. I told him to leave the length 3-4 times. From start to finish my service was maybe 15 minutes. No it wasn't a full manicure, but Jesus he couldn't get me out of the chair fast enough. If you are too busy to take a client, and do what they ask for, DONT. Ask them to come at a later time. read more

Long overdue review- but finding Tracy and team at NLBTS has been one of the things that made me feel at home after moving across the country. I can't say enough great things about this salon- parking? Ample! Staff? Amazing and kind! Extras? How about a Mimosa?! I love that they take their time with each client, I've never ever felt rushed here. Highly recommend making an appointment because that allows them to function best- although I've also never seen them deny a walk-in. My experience here has been so above and beyond I had to share so others can see how great this salon really is. I came to Nails Lounge By the Sea a few weeks ago expressing that I wanted to try a few different mani/ pedi designs over the next few weeks in preparation of my upcoming wedding on May 31. Kristin (and the entire team) have been incredible in assisting me every week and have made me feel SO comfortable and confident for my big day. The first week, Kristin immediately pulled out her phone and helped me pick out a unique design on Pinterest that matched my dress. She hand painted a similar look on the spot and it was gorgeous. The next week, Kristin stopped at a supply shop on the way in to pick up a new gel color for me. Ultimately the store was closed due to it being a Sunday but I was so flattered she had thought about me before coming in. Who does that these days??? This last week I brought in some jewels I found on Amazon and Kristin absolutely NAILED (pun intended) the CUTEST design on my ring finger. We found the winner. I am blown away at the effort she has put into helping me prepare for my big day, and I am totally confident what I want now for my wedding. I also want to note that the specialists who have provided me with my pedicures have been equally as amazing and have allowed me to try and change a number of different looks. Wow. Spectacular service. Friendly and accommodating employees. Great job on the gel nail polish! We came here mid-December on a Thursday afternoon as a walk-in group. We were hoping to walk-in for nail services at another salon in the area but were told they were booked. Thankfully, we called ahead here to Nails Lounge and they said they could accommodate us. We were quickly and graciously seated in comfy, slightly old-looking, red velvet chairs. They offer free drinks while you get your nails done (mimosas or wine). I'm not sure if they meant to offer it at the beginning, but somehow it got lost in the shuffle and we weren't given drinks until the end. They offer mimosas in little paper cups. If you check in on Yelp, you get an additional free drink! They have a large container of the strawberry hard candies up at the front - yum! There were 5 employees who serviced the 9 people in our group. They were very quick and kind. The girl who did my nails didn't cause me any pain when she cut my cuticles and filed my nails. She was great! Please be aware that I've only gotten one other manicure in my life, so I don't have much to compare this experience to. I settled on gel nail polish, which was around $45. The polish lasted so long; it was amazing. It's a pain to get off, but it was worth it for the fancy event I went to. Make sure to bring cash to tip your nail stylist! I have been going to Nails Lounge by the Sea for 3 years now. When we first moved here I found it and loved the relaxing, clean, peaceful vibe. I knew it was something different and I've never looked back. Owner Tracy pays close attention to detail and takes special requests very seriously. She takes good care of her regular customers. Her mom Ava and her brother Andy also work at the nail spa but honestly ALL of the nail technicians are good. I suggest making an appointment and going when you have time. This is not the place to go if you are in a rush. If you have time for quality service this is your place. Today I got pretty pinkish chrome on my nails with a special nail binder that helps keep the gel longer and prevents breaking. Last time I had this service my nails lasted an incredible 5 weeks and grew so so long!! I typically get French gel but have gone through stages of neutral and pinks/blush. They have a good selection of colors and are up on the latest trends. When my nails need a break from gel to get stronger they totally get it. I think it is really difficult to find a good nail tech. I've been to so many around Laguna and Dana Point and Nails Lounge by the Sea is 100% my favorite. The employees are amazing and really take pride in their work. The lady that owns the salon (I'm sorry, I cannot remember her name) is very involved, knows the latest trends and can figure out exactly what you want even if you don't know! She double checks the work of the others working-I've even had her tell the guy who did my nails to redo them when he was finished. Really great service!!! Just an FYI...call ahead to schedule an appointment. They are consistently busy and it is in your best interest to make an appointment. Tracy's brother did my nails, I don't know his name. They are very uneven and sticking up, when he removed my gel-x set he did not take all the gel off they were bumpy underneath. I requested a refund after leaving later that day because everyone that saw me commented on how ugly they were. When I said I paid $90 for these they couldn't believe it. They unfortunately would not refund me so I had to report to Venmo. They said I agreed to their terms and conditions when I left the salon? That's illegal but okay. Venmo has reached back out and advised me to reach out to the police and tell them what happened. The reason I didn't go back to fix is because I didn't have extra time for them to mess up all over again. What a headache. Do not go here, I should've just stuck with my normal Salon Eco which is across the street but a lot busier and you need an appointment. Edited to add : per our conversation, I specifically said I wasn't going to go back because I felt like it was a waste of my time if I was clearly telling you that the nails were crooked and not taking off correctly, and you were telling me that I was wrong. I am not a magician and can't change your eyes to see what I am saying when I can visibly see the gel polish that was still left from underneath and the service was crap. I understand that you don't sell goods, but you do provide services and if they are enough to par, then you should be a respectable business owner and return money for a service that was not done well. Especially this being a family business, take some accountability. Reported you and your salon to the IRS. Beware of this salon. In our text, Tracy said that us paying and leaving is us agreeing to their terms and conditions that are not posted anywhere. I've never gone to a salon where you have to pay to remove your nails when you're doing the same service at their salon. My friend and I went for pedicure & dip manicures and were so very pleased with the work & service. -easy to book an appointment (they texted me right away after they missed my call, and we arranged an appt moments later) -very cozy Christmas/holiday decor -very clean & neat place -very efficient- employees working on your feet and hands at the same time -very nice and fun employees who joked with us a little bit -we were offered wine or mimosas (we didn't participate this time, but a nice perk) -fantastic quality- we were so in love with our nail shapes, color choices, and especially the nail art I got (gold glitter ombré tips). My friend couldn't stop gushing over my nails :D We're both sad we don't live in the area, otherwise I'd definitely be a regular! Will have to visit next time we're back here. For anyone curious about Covid practices: we weren't asked about vaccination status or card, all employees wore masks except the front desk (owner? manager?) employee, and there were just a few other customers there who I think weren't wearing masks. She was very attentive to detail, not rushed at all, and also gave me options regarding how I would like my nails shaped. Many options available for nail colors, and they give you a palette that you can put over your nails to easily decide. Very reasonably priced. Plus, they offer a complimentary mimosa, red wine, white wine, or water. Location is perfect--adjacent to a French cafe and surf shop if you want to get bite or a coffee, or do some shopping afterward... or simply take a walk with that beautiful ocean view. Over the past 10 years I have been going to the same nail salon and going to the same person. Never would I have thought I was going to switch places just because a place moved in right next door! Working on Del Prado I know how busy it can get and I didn't wait but maybe 5 minutes which at my old place they would say 15 minutes and it could be up to an hour wait! Plus they added in complimentary waters and mimosas if you pleased. Each person is strictly following COVID guidelines. Seeing people coming to my job every day with the nails they got done from the By The Sea made me want to go even more. Today was the day I decided to shoot on over and made an appointment for after work, not only does the energy in the Nail Salon feel absolutely amazing it has an ambience of luxury and relaxation. The chairs are plush velvet chairs making it easy to sink in and each bowl is gold crafted making it a true luxury experience. YeAnna and Tracy are absolutely amazing and did everything in their power to make our experience absolutely amazing. The massages were amazing and I loved the way they did the actual nails also! They have so many amazing things about them here and I definitely will send every person I know and will be coming here forever! They even have dried flowers they will put into your nails. If you get the chance to meet Tracy just know she's amazing! She really makes it her mission to give you a person experience. She gained two customers for life today! Wow! This is the best nail salon I've been to in CA. I am very picky about my nails and have tried 10 different salons in my area over the past few years but this is by far my favorite. The salon is so quiet and peaceful and the chairs are comfy. The inside is brand new and feels luxurious. Everyone was professional and friendly and they really took the time to make my nails and toes perfect. They were so careful (which is my #1 requirement) and didn't hurt me at all. I felt welcomed and relaxed and not pressured to do anything extra. They really take the time to ensure you are comfortable, relaxed and happy with your service. I got full set acrylics with hombre detailing and the coral pedicure and it took about 1.5 hours, which is great! I will definitely be coming back every 2-3 weeks for my fill and pedicure. However TRACY TRACY TRACY THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for making this experience fantastic, she helped one of my favorite girls who's never had her nails done and getting them done was soooo hard for her but Tracy went above and beyond to walk her through it and was so patience and kind and never judgmental. I know how amazing all these girls are but sometimes it's hard for others to see unfortunately which can really take away from the experience and close a lot of doors for people with Autism. Very expensive! For a basic pedicure and manicure it was $85.00, plus a $3 service fee to use a credit card. They set a 10 minute timer and show you the time for the massage and it was mediocre and they left in the middle of the massage! Apparently, many nail salons set a timer for the massage. They were nice, but way to expensive in my opinion. read more
