And it's important for your dogs to be cared for so if you only take them when things get bad with their coat it's a difficult fix that takes time. I found it best to set up regular visits as this really helps keep the dogs coats as they should be and the dogs get familiar with the process. My initial plan was to keep my Havanese with her hair long. Well it's curly to and I tired then decided it's best to let Andrea take care of it and it was the best decision ever. Knowing what I know now, his prognosis was not good, but there were some real things that could have been handled differently. For one thing, the doctor did not truly examine my dog or think to xray him to find out why he began coughing in addition to his surface infections. Turns out, his lungs were collapsing. They sent him home with me that day and he died the same night. I wish I could have at least known what was going on so we could understand how much time we had left, it really hurts. I did not feel like Mount Plaines provided adequate care. They just didn't care to look closely at all, and seemed to be uncomfortable with me as I started to panic that my dog was in serious condition. They don't even call the next day to follow up on your pet, good vets do this. I regret using them after i had to switch vets after I moved.

I sought groomers and most have several people involved managing a different aspect, ie washing, drying, cut, nails, and charge for each service. Too much handling and stress to any dog. I found Sophie in Park Ridge who grooms dogs 20#'s and under in her home salon. On 10.18.19, I brought a shaggy Freddie to her. She shared her training, grooming legend and success working with puppies and challenging dogs. Sophie told me within 5 to 15 minutes Freddie would be manageble. I left and expected a call to pick him up, but received videos of Sophie singing and talking to a content Freddie. A bit later, 1.5 hours, I received a photo of Freddie groomed to perfection. Freddie was peaceful and happy. Sophie's grooming expertise and connection to dogs is beyond words. She is the dog whisperer of groomers.

The facility also felt very outdated and not especially well maintained. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this clinic.
