The food was good, but I'm more upset about them not having highchairs for kids despite offering a kids menu. They also did not have a changing table in the bathroom. Been hoping and waiting to be able to take down my throwing snowballs at Santa Clause hater Philly guy who got stuck in New York for 16 year angry review, when they were closed early - out of supplies. Cheesesteak "wit" - that's with onions. OK, this is the REAL deal. taste, cheese, roll. Close your eyes and you might be eating this wandering Passyunk Ave. in Philly on a cool summer night. My family were "two streeters" at 2nd and Reed and also 10th & Colorado since the 1880s from Ireland. Two comments albeit minor. 1) a "schootch' too much cheese. When this sandwich got wrapped up like a hand rolled cigarette for me to take-out and bring home about a slice of cheese got expressed out on the wax paper and onto the out side of the roll. 10% to 20% less cheese and it would be still "molto buono" and an awesome cheesy cheesesteak. 2) the steak is almost TOO processed and chopped (well actually the appearance and texture is more akin to minced?) I guess I am more of a sliced ribeye then rough/course "chop" with a spatula on the griddle kind of a guy. The cheesesteak hoagie was equally magical and tasty. For ~ $15 these are hearty and significant sized sandwiches. More than a meal each. Bravo Zulu and well done. We got some onions as well on this. Threw a few hot peppers as well. I finally made my way inside after several attempts. I understand the hype, they have good steaks! I got the signature and it came out extremely hot on a perfect roll! We waited on line with high hopes and it was well worth it. The ribeye was well seasoned, tender and overstuffed in a tasty hoagie that stood up well. Unfortunately they ran out of chicken cutlet, so I picked up the eggplant hero that will be dinner tomorrow. These sandwiches are substantial and easily shared by 2 people unless you are truly famished. I will update on the eggplant soon but I'm sure it would have been a better review if eaten fresh. For those interested there are 4 seat tables on one side and bar top seating on the opposite wall The wait was a bit long so hopefully when the new flat top grill is installed, wait time will improve. Wow! This place is amazing. I went to college in Philly and this is the real deal. We got two cheesesteaks to go plus fries. I weighed one cheesesteak and it was almost 1 and a 1/2 pounds! The 3 star is for the cheesesteak which was very good but I'll get to that. So I called them 4 times because we live about 20 minutes away and their website said you could call ahead. They never answered their phone. I asked the sweet girl at the register why and she said she wasn't allowed to answer the phone??? Really? Anyway, I placed my order and noticed seeded rolls behind the girl at the register and asked if they could please give me a non seeded roll? I have an allergy to seeds. She called the blonde female manager over and with the worst attitude the blonde girl said to me that I could have a refund if I wanted! What! I wasn't complaining, I just wanted to know if I could have a non seeded roll and asked a question. She was so rude and had no class. That is not how I would conduct business. This is the REAL DEAL! I grew up in South Jersey (Exit 4B), 40 minutes outside of Philly. These are the Cheesesteaks I remember so fondly. Perfect mix of shaved ribeye and Cooper sharp cheese.
