    Shaking Beef Rice Plate

I've had good VietNamese food in Philadelphia and San Jose. I even had some good VietNamese food here but that restaurant is gone. I've known about this place since it opened. It sounded a bit too expensive and I didn't think that it would be good enough. Two or so years later, I tried it and I wouldn't return. I looked for the Com Dia section but there was not much. I ordered the Com Bo Luc Lac and Iced Tea. The server brought Thai Tea. I should have said Tra, so she would known that I didn't mean Tra Thai. In just a little bit more, the rice dish arrived. Oh, and I had to ask for chopsticks. I know that they wouldn't want to leave them at the table because someone would take them all, but still, it's inconvenient to ask. It looked appealing, but the chewy meat had me working toward a migraine headache. It had some sweet sauce, which I don't remember being a part of this dish, much like the Banh Mi from the other place I tried recently. The rice was the best part of the meal. It came to $23.36, which is bad for the portion and the quality of the beef.

Super cold outside so a good soup sounded appealing. Decided to try this spot to see what it's all about. Clean and bright when you walk in, quickly greeted and seated. I ordered pho with no meat (kept the beef broth, just wasn't feeling anything too heavy today). Also ordered the potstickers. The pho hit the spot for me and I'm more than full. The potstickers were a little on the oily side for me. Not sure I'd order them again, but the flavor was there. Once you finish, you pay up at the counter.

Ordered Pho from Uber eats and whoever packed my order didn't put any bean sprouts, cilantro, etc for sides for pho. Small portion too. This is my 2nd time ordering and continue to make mistakes. So disappointing.

Wanted a Vietnamese sandwich fix and had to try out this location since I've tried a few other locations in the Manteca area. It was good and I did finish it all for one meal. Normally I eat half and it did look bigger than most but I don't know if I will return for the sandwich again unless the other locations are closed. They are in a convenient popular location on a main road near a bunch of other stores and restaurants with tons of parking. The space inside is spacious and a great setting for family and friends to enjoy a meal....not a first date place but definitely for couples that have been together for awhile. There was a very pricey item on the menu and the employee said it was a popular dish but I don't recall seeing it on yelp yet. I'm not a pho soup fan but if I ever find someone that is and willing to pay that much I'll post more about it but I really came for a sandwich anyways Price was reasonable as well as the wait time...I took to go

This place has a delicious short rib (kalbi) dish. It is so delicious that even though my family was craving Pho and ordered Pho, we still order a plate of this. This dish does come as an individual serving and not like a family style dish so the two of us have to fight for the meat. Next time we may need to just get our own plates in addition to our own Pho! I also like their Vermicelli Bowl with egg rolls. The egg rolls are fried nicely to a crisp and the inside of them are filled nicely! This is my favorite item for takeout. They gave me a peanut sauce too in addition the fish sauce. This was a first and it was eye opening in a good way! The service is nice too! The servers were always helpful whenever we had to ask for additional water, bowls to share with the kids, and anything else. To pay, you just go up to the registers. The restaurant is nice and newly remodeled. They also have a crane game

The first time I've tried the Pho, it was in the Stockton location. I didn't like it because I thought it was overpriced and the broth was bland. Then I came here to the Manteca location and it made me think differently. The broth is very well. Today I had the Bun Bo Hue and it was not that bad. Service is nice and tidy. Very friendly servers and the decor is nice. Very authentically Vietnamese inspired design. I prefer location more over the Stockton location. Great job!

I really wanted to the The Pho because I can definitely see the potential of this restaurant that opened mid 2023. Manteca actually has a ton of Vietnamese options so there is plenty of competition. I thought overall the food was decent. The service is pretty good and the interior of the restaurant is actually pretty well done. I like the little claw game machine that they have inside too. What my table ordered: - The Pho special combo appetizer ($12) - Cold cut combo (Banh mi nguoi) $9 The Pho special combo appetizer came with spring rolls, egg rolls, and fried shrimp rolls. I thought the egg rolls were solid, but wish there was an option for fish sauce although sweet and sour works too. The spring roll left a bit to be desired. The shrimp was a little rubbery and there wasn't enough veggies inside for my taste. I ordered the Bahn Mi with the cold cuts and the bread was good and had a flakey crust. I did feel they sort of skimped out on cucumbers and the carrot/radish. I wish there was a little more cold cuts too because I've had some at other places that had a larger portion. I also tried the pork variation, but the marinade for the pork tasted very peanuty and almost a bit too sweet. Also the basket that held my sandwich had a dead gnat on it, but luckily there was paper covering it...Oh well, can't always control nature. The Pho was a bit of a mixed bag especially with the food, but it's hard to fully judge without even trying their Pho which is their specialty. It's definitely worth giving it a 2nd shot to explore their menu fully. I would say it's still not a bad spot and it's still worth a 1st visit.

Food is decent. Comes out quick. Service is good when they aren't short staffed (@management). I come here maybe once or twice a month. Not sure if I'll be coming back since the last few times I've been here the music has been so loud, it makes this place insufferable.

Ordered lunch to go. Spring rolls 1/5 the rolls was lacking, very dry Banh mi 2/5 mediocre- asked for more jalapeños but didn't get any extra Pho 4/5 - love the to go it came in. If I order from the pho again I will only order Pho

My fried egg was overcooked and not over easy.

Great pho broth, but the beef are too tough. If they boil the beef longer to make it tender, it will be great.

Pho broth was good, calamari was hard, as if the oil used was old or over cooked. Spicy chicken wings were drenched with sauce. They were served with more of a hoisin-style sauce instead of the typical peanut sauce. A little different, but still had good flavor overall. My dad ordered the chicken sandwich, and it was much bigger than what you usually get at other places. He said it was really good and definitely filling. ($6.95) I ordered the mild beef stew pho. It wasn't quite what I'm used to--the meat wasn't the typical stew cut and had more fat and gristle, with only a few pieces of beef. It wasn't my favorite, but the broth itself had good flavor. It also came with rice noodles, carrots, and even a couple pieces of lettuce, which was a bit different. Looking around, other dishes coming out looked really good. I'd definitely come back to try one of their sandwiches next time. Service was quick approx 30 seats. The ambiance was casual and welcoming clean, relaxed, and a comfortable spot to sit down and enjoy a meal. Nothing fancy, but it had a nice local feel.

Even when the chicken is moist it's unfortunate the taste is lacking often. My guess is that they prepare the food far in advance and just reheat the food as needed; sometimes there to go orders are ready way too quick so quality suffers. Also their fish sauce doesn't do it for me. It has no zing compared to those that other restaurants have. This is a pretty small restaurant but they manage to fit a decent number of tables. One of the few things that have going for them is that they are cheap. I feel like $11+ tax for a grilled chicken rice plate is unheard of these days. For me this place is a 3/5. I ordered the general chicken and orange chicken. They said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I came maybe about 10 min later. Got the food and tasted it soon after I got to my car. Orange chicken lacking in that orange pop. General chicken lacking in overall flavor. What was the most unforgivable though was the soggy chicken. Eating at its optimal level would be eating it fresh at the table at the restaurant. Next best thing would be in the car as soon as you got it. But it's a to-go restaurant to realistically your eating it at home after it's traveled for however many minutes. As expected when I got home it was soggy. But it was already as soggy as possible to begin with. Why is this place a 4/5 I have no idea. Maybe since I came during off peak hours so they foods just sitting around and there's no fresh food turnover? No idea. Maybe I'll give them another chance one day but who knows. Also factor in that they don't have rice plates and the cost of pure entrees alone and that's a negative for me. I didn't know how lacking Chinese food was in Manteca because I was spoiled by the old Kitty's Kitchen. Nothing compares in the area.
