I visited Mani Thai in April 2025 at 8:20 pm or so. I went with my niece and her grandmother. We didn't get much of a greeting when we walked in and sat ourselves at a table that would have comfortably sat 5-6 people. It wad dimly lit and had light music playing that wasn't too distracting. It was very quiet for a Friday night, might be a good option if you're looking for a non-crowded option. The only thing was that there seemed to be quite a few to go orders that were being picked up. Not a huge deal, just noticeable. Our order was promptly taken. I ordered the Pad Thai (spicy). Niece ordered the pot stickers. Her grandmother ordered the Yellow Curry with white rice. She also ordered a Thai iced tea. I tried the pot stickers and they were good but definitely had an aroma of vegetables. Might not be everyone's jam. My niece liked them and that's all that mattered. The Pad Thai tasted good but seemed really creamy compared to other places I've been. The flavor was good and level of spice was just right. If I had to change anything, I would say add just a touch more peanut flavor and throw 1-3 shrimp in the dish and it would balance it really nicely. At least an option would be nice! Overall, I'm going to give 4 stars. I wasn't too impressed with the service but the timelessness and food were good. After the meal, we were greeted by a lady who was very friendly and knew my niece and her grandma well. She gave a warm welcome and said I looked like my brother.

First time going inside the restaurant, cute cozy vibes inside. Service was very pleasant and fast. I asked the server what curry was her favorite so that I can try something new and she said the panang curry. Which is this red curry and I honestly can't praise this dish enough. It was perfect! I got medium heat with chicken and shrimp and the flavors were so amazing I was contemplating on getting seconds. Served with rice , it was the perfect combination ! I highly recommend this dish! 11/10!

More affordable than other Thai spots in my opinion but still pricey. Ive already left a review but added more pictures. I get the same stuff all the time! I wish I could get a lot more of the appetizers but roti is my favorite. Not making this review long because my past reviews still match.

Since we were looking for another new place to try we placed a DoorDash order for dinner on Friday. We ordered the pineapple fried rice, duck curry and 2 Thai iced tea with boba. My boyfriend's go-to order is always the pineapple fried rice at Thai restaurants. He thought the dish here didn't taste so good. He said the sauce tasted off and the chicken was hard. He said he tasted better elsewhere. As for the duck curry, I didn't like color of the duck meat, It was red. I don't think I ate red duck meat before. It almost didn't look like duck to me and usually if the color is red it's not cooked. I tried microwaving a piece and it still had the red color. The dish overall was good and not spicy. Overall food here seems ok.

Thought it would've been wok seared noodles, ordered to go and I didn't even receive any sauce only a fork and a napkin. I wasn't attended upon arrival although staff was aware I arrived given that they have a bell at the door. So I literally called them while being in the store since I noticed the phone at the register, and before you know it they came to tend the phone right away. Flavor is alright, I'm not really feeling any of that Wok sear. Overall not bad and not the greatest my order total was $17.39. Even Panda Express puts more of a sear and it's a fast food chain‍

Meal was delicious! Very kind and sweet service. Felt very home like environment. Stop by for lunch break but will definitely come back with friends and family

    Fried Banana with Honey

The honey paired with the ripe banana was perfect. The fried to perfection. Mango sticky rice was a generous portion for $10. Pretty sure it was a whole fresh mango. I had a sweet tooth and it was satisfied! Will be back soon.

I'll comment on the taste in a bit but I want to first highlight something I've never experienced. In all my work-from-home years I've never once had to-go experience where the dishes looked like they'd been plated for table service at the restaurant. Sure some stuff shifted in the Dasher's car but it honestly blew me away. Even the drink was carefully wrapped and put in a little box to ensure it wouldn't leak everywhere. As for the important bit, the taste, man... I have had so many amazing Thai meals at places in the bay area and honestly just assumed the most Modesto would get is some great Banh Mi spots. Obviously I haven't had the chance to try the whole menu but my go-to, Tom Kha, this is the best Thai coconut soup I've ever had! The Pad Thai is as good if not better than what I've had in San Francisco as well. I'm really looking forward to bringing friends and family here to check it out in person! Side note... yes, it's also very expensive ordering via Doordash with their added fees but it's 2026 and it's California. So far my multiple orders have been well worth the price and I expect the same experience in person! (just, you know, without the extra Doordash fee nonsense)

My wife and I stopped in after our jog along the Tidewater Biketrail, making this our lunch pit stop after starting at Lathrop Road. The Char Siu Pork Bánh Mì is an easy 5/5. The baguette was fresh, crispy on the outside, and soft and chewy inside. The char siu pork was tender, juicy, and perfectly caramelized around the edges. Crisp pickled carrots and daikon, plenty of cilantro, and fresh jalapeños brought everything together. It's a well-balanced sandwich with a portion that's just right. The Grilled Chicken Roll'd deserves more attention. The grilled chicken reminded me of a flavorful chicken satay, and the peanut sauce complemented every bite without overpowering the fresh ingredients. If you're looking for a lighter, protein-packed option, this is it. They also offered complimentary strawberry and passion fruit refreshers. They were a little sweeter than my preference, but the flavors were refreshing. Next time, I'd order one at 50% sweetness. The restaurant is clean, inviting, and a welcome escape from the Central Valley heat. Service has always been friendly, and it's the kind of place where both the staff and regulars make you feel welcome. There's also a Tracy location, but I find myself coming back to the Manteca restaurant. It's smaller, more intimate, and has a charm all its own. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. Great food, great people, and a relaxed atmosphere. I always say, good food brings out the best in people. They were served with more of a hoisin-style sauce instead of the typical peanut sauce. A little different, but still had good flavor overall. My dad ordered the chicken sandwich, and it was much bigger than what you usually get at other places. He said it was really good and definitely filling. ($6.95) I ordered the mild beef stew pho. It wasn't quite what I'm used to--the meat wasn't the typical stew cut and had more fat and gristle, with only a few pieces of beef. It wasn't my favorite, but the broth itself had good flavor. It also came with rice noodles, carrots, and even a couple pieces of lettuce, which was a bit different. Looking around, other dishes coming out looked really good. I'd definitely come back to try one of their sandwiches next time. Service was quick approx 30 seats. The ambiance was casual and welcoming clean, relaxed, and a comfortable spot to sit down and enjoy a meal. Nothing fancy, but it had a nice local feel.

Food was so much better this time around than the last time I had been there. They really must've had a bad night when I had gone previously. Small restaurant in the of a little strip mall off of Main Street. They serve classic Chinese American food and unlike most places in the Bay Area that are family style dishes preferably on a Lazy Susan during dinner time. They offer rice plates, or combo plates for individuals, similar to lunch specials. I selected several dishes and asked the server which was the most popular amongst the dishes I chose, and she let me know the salt and pepper fish, which I got with chow mein. We also ordered shrimp & broccoli, and sweet-and-sour pork. Everything appeared made to order and looked very fresh. From grandma to the babes everyone was happy with their food. Mine was more on the plain Jane with just fried fish, luckily it came with sliced jalapeños to give it a kick. Next time I'll order a spicy eggplant dish. This is a good place to go to if you're with a group of picky eaters. Price is very reasonable, especially for dinner.

7/5 /25 Update 3/5 This has been a long time coming…read moreunfortunately. Ever since the previous owners sold the place the quality has dropped significantly. Consistency has been a major issue not only with food but with policy. When they first took over I'm sure there were some learning curves and maybe tweaks to the recipes. I wanted to give them a fair shot to get things right. Not sure if the old cooks stayed or if they got new ones? Did the new owners have the recipes changed? Did they change suppliers of ingredients, etc, I just don't know. What I can tell you though is that at least some of the dishes are different and are off from what I remember. The general Tao sauce I thought tasted different but necessarily bad. But combine that with a definite lack of crisp/crunch with the fried items and that's gonna be a problem for me. This time around, I only got the general tao beef because unlike my previous visit, they did not allow me to order the general tao beef in the combo plate as in upcharge (just last week or the week before it was allowed). I've been multiple times since the change in ownership. Partly because of the convenience of the location and partly because of the hope that whatever meal I eat at any given time will at least satisfy my fix for their type of Chinese American food. Unfortunately, the fried items I loved so much like orange chicken, sweet and sour pork and general tao beef alike are all severely lacking the crunch from the fry. As of late I've been getting the General Tao Beef to track consistency and it's been consistently under cooked in terms of the batter. The beef itself has been rubbery and to the point where I can't even break apart a piece and end up having to eat it whole lots of times. The other problem is that the pieces are large inconsistently cut (sometimes with, sometimes against the grain) strips making for a difficult chew. And because of the lack of crunch the fried battered outside just falls apart when you bite or try to cut it apart. The last two visits, but especially this one considering I ordered extra crunchy, were severely undercooked and soggy. it was to the point this time where I basically had to scrape off the majority of the batter and just eat the rubbery beef inside. It really does bring me pain to drastically drop the rating of a place that I once loved. I hope one day they can make the fixes so that I can continue to enjoy their food once again. I gave them a 3/5 but honestly, it probably should have been 2/5. I think the chicken with hot garlic sauce might be just good enough to keep it at 3/5 even though the last three times I ordered it. It was inconsistently hot (with cold spots) temperature wise.
