Double chocolate cheesecake--10/10!!, regular cheesecake

Don't come for the ice cream but definitely come for the pies, cakes, and cookies. You can get individual slices or a whole pie. If you like banana pudding, they knock it out of the park! Order ahead for parties if you need a specific item or come in after dinner for a sweet treat.

The cakes and treats we picked up were tasty... But the service given to those who are less fortunate was disappointing. Sadden me and daughter to watch and hear the staff belittling one of the cities homeless. It was entirely too hot outside and in order to ensure they'd let him stay in I paid for his order and got him an extra cake which they didn't even want to serve him. I had to ask them to let him pick out what he wanted... the snark and sarcasm.... The comments made... I understand he in the past took a few bucks out the tip jar to pay for something to eat- but clearly he's hungry enough to do that... show some kindness and grace. Talking bad about him won't help! Showing him more harm won't help... I know these two girls are young and clearly haven't been through anything in life and can understand how fortunate they are enough to give to others. That's a lesson they'll end up learning the hard way and that's sad. Even if this location is convenient... I can't imagine going back if this is how they allow the staff to treat people who are already going through enough trauma and don't need to be mistreated and put down further into the dirt.

As part of some virtual work festivities, we were encouraged to grab a piece of local pie to enjoy on a video call. Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen was first in my mind. And the fact that they deliver? Done done done! I ordered a slice of Old Fashioned Pecan and Chocolate Chip pie, made with bourbon. I was feeling a bit nostalgic about Louisville, and this sweet, indulgent pie helped with this. I also got a couple of sugar cookies -- turkey-shaped, for Thanksgiving -- for the kiddos, who loved them. I had my desserts within 40 minutes of ordering. Sugar tooth? You now know where to find the remedy.

This place is inconsistent at best. I like their pies but the ones I like they don't always have and sometimes they have hardly any selection at all... which is actually good because it means that they're selling a lot of pie. I do recommend the Boston cream, the double crust Apple, and their pumpkin.

Came with my family for pi day! First time here and everything was great! Wonderful customer service and a vast selection of pies, ice creams and other desserts. Never heard of a chess pie and tried strawberry rhubarb pie for the first time! The strawberry- rhubarb pie tasted like a tart cherry pie. The server recommended creme brûlée ice cream with it, and it was a perfect pairing. I was told by a customer that the chess pie was like an egg custard. My daughters both ordered chocolate chess and it tasted what I imagine a brownie pie would taste like. The crust was crumbly and perfectly proportioned to the pie and ice cream. I enjoyed every bite!

Happy Pi Day! Pie slice $3.14

I typically don't order ice cream here and wasn't prepared for the large size of the Creme Brûlée ice cream ordered. However, it seemed like a unique flavor so decided to just eat about half the generous amount served. I love actual creme brûlée once or twice a year. The ice cream had an initial flavor reminiscent of the ' vanilla creaminess' but a very odd texture and a taste of ribbons of 'melted plastic' that were maybe supposed to be caramel. Not that I've ever knowingly ingested actual melted plastic but the odd flavor vs actual caramel was a no go. So good for me not eating too much of it in a calorie count way but not the delight an occasional splurge usually brings. Didn't capture a photo.

Purchased a white on white cake for an engagement announced party. The cake was delicious and there was none left by the end of the gathering. Bought the cake topper separate from another store.

Yo nunca fui a Pie Kitchen. Se lo recomiendo a otras personas porque Pie Kitchen tiene comida muy rica.

Wow. What a place. My husband and I were looking to indulge a little and stumbled across Homemade Ice Cream & Pie on our way home. The menu was packed full of delicious items to try, and thankfully the waitress saw our overwhelmed faces and offered to walk us through everything We had samples of a couple ice creams before deciding and ended up with the Dutch Apple caramel pie warmed up with sugar free vanilla ice cream and a double scoop of grape & blue raspberry for the hubby. The Dutch Apple caramel pie was phenomenal warmed up with ice cream on top, I don't think it could get any better. The caramel icing was a little thick in places and lead to a sugar shock but was totally worth it! The ice cream had a great texture and was super creamy. Overall we were ecstatic to find this place and plan on returning soon!

I went here recently and all of the ice cream was pulled out because they had some type of breakdown with their machines.

If you visit Louisville and don't stop here for a bite to eat, I feel sorry for your taste buds and…read morebelly. All of the reviews about the Danwich are TRUE! True people! Because it was bigger than my head (ok, maybe this is a slight exaggeration but not by much) i had to disassemble it to eat it in stages. First off were the waffle fries and I found them to be tasty, crunch and fluffy in all the right spots. Once the taters were off I cut that biggie baby in 8 'Oh My Danwich' slices. Y'all, I rarely find myself at a loss for words, even my high dollar, 10 letter ones, but I can't fill this space with all the adjectives I would want in describing this sanwich that would make you want breakfast for every meal. The sausage had that savory salty pork taste that makes you happy you're not a vegetarian with an egg slice that was fluffier than my German Shepherd's downy fur. The cheese even had a nice pull with the topper being their chive aioli. And that sandwich was just the beginning because I also ordered a Strawberry Cruffin, Bourbon Peach hand pie and a raspberry Danish to have as late night snacks. The handpie didn't do it for me. The peaches lacked flavor that I found myself asking bestie if she wanted it because I was jiat going to toss in the trash after just 2 bites. The strawberry mascarpone cream in the cruffin was silky smooth and berrylicious with the croissant being flaky and fluffy. It was almost like a sweet and savory after school snack. The kind of bakery item that keeps you coming back for more. And more. And the piece de resistance was the raspberry Danish. I've lived my 61 years learning to never turn down raspberry anything and today, my raspberry research paid off. One hundred percent tenfold. Even though the glaze drizzle was super sweet, the flaky danish offset it with that light crunch but fluffy innards. Y'all, with each bite I just fell more in love. The Danish was so good that when I came to my last bite not only was I sad that it would soon be gone but I wanted to cry. Cry y'all. Over a Danish! Yes, do it. You only live once. Order the Danwich & the Danish. You won't be sorry. You can pay me in Butchertown gift cards. Or Bourbon. Hubby's brother lives across the Ohio so, next time he goes to visit them I'm going with him. Just so I can drive over here and try their lunch items and grab more danishes. The folks were super friendly, the place both clean and quiet. Which, kinda surprised me because the food is so good I couldn't understand why there weren't lines around the block. That changed the longer we dined in as folks just started roaming in. I said to my friend that the Louisville folk must get started late in the day.

I also really enjoyed the salted mocha coffee, the flavor was rich! The staff were all friendly and patient, we sort of held the line up because we were first timers but they were nice enough to allow us to order when we were ready and the gentleman who ran to the back just to bring me grape jelly, thank you!!!!

The amount of variety on the menu was pretty nice, looks like there's something here for most people. I had the Cobb Salad and was happy with the amount of colorful vegetables and toppings on my plate. It comes with mixed greens (glad to see more salads with mixed greens instead of romaine), roasted chicken, nice crispy bacon, a hardboiled egg, blue cheese, black olives, tomato, avocado and a good amount of dressing. It tastes very fresh and is a decent portion size, but in terms of flavor there wasn't much going on. It tastes like "greens" and that's kinda it. I don't know what the cause is, like it's seasoned but I just didn't get much flavor. Perhaps my pallet prefers stronger flavors over lighter ones, so take this with a grain of salt (figuratively, or maybe literally). If you're in the area, check em out.
