We looked at a Plantation Venue around the corner. We were hungry and decided to get some BBQ. We were a party of four. We ordered our drinks and we were ready to order. The menu was a little confusing, but the Waitress explained the menu to us. We all enjoyed our meals. My pork sandwich could of had a little bit more Smokey flavor. The mustard based sauce was probably homemade and very runny. I liked the red bbq sauce. Plenty of parking outside. The place was big and spacious. They were full of patrons tonight. We usually go to Callahan BBQ, but they closed at 4:00 pm today. So, we came here. I could not eat my banana pudding, so we took it home. Pros: friendly staff. The place looked clean. Food was sufficient to enjoy. Cons:watery mustard based sauce. Menu was a bit confusing. Recommend? Yes, I would.

I was so excited when my friend said we were going to the Pig BBQ as I've stopped at the location off 95 in Ormond Beach several times. However, this location did not meet my expectations. I'll start with the positive. I tried my friends appetizers of fried mushrooms and fried okra. Both were hot and delicious! I loved the macaroni and cheese, so creamy and flavorful, and banana pudding was yummy! But we had a few issues. First, our server was new and walked out halfway through our service. She was nice but she left us wondering what happened. You can purchase a regular size platter or large. I chose large because I wanted leftovers so I would have enough for another meal. When my food came out my portion size was the same as my friends who ordered the regular size. I requested not to be charged the extra $2. The manager did accommodate my request which I appreciated. I ordered the pork barbecue sandwich. I didn't want the bread and while taking the bread off I found a greasy hair on the plate. I took all of the sides off the plate and requested a fresh serving of meat. The manager assisted and brought me a new serving. The barbecue was okay but tasted better after adding the mustard sauce. I am not one of those people that complain about every meal I eat out. But on this particular night I was the complainer at the table for good reason;) This is not a location I plan to ever visit again.

Food was good. Corn nuggets are the best! The service was good and the restaurant had tables large enough for large families!

Worth the pit stop for me at The Pig! Headed to Georgia noticed the pig restaurant on the way, did a quick tool into the parking lot lots of cars drew me in. Ordered the pig barbecue sandwich beef with coleslaw beans and the pig sauce fantastic! Beef very tender, sauce reminded me of a chimichurri sauce. Coleslaw super fresh and crisp on the sweet side and the baked beans weee perfect, could taste the vinegar and the spices but not overwhelming; flavorful lunch! Very busy spot but the server at the register was fast and friendly! Didn't come with plastic utensils and napkin but i forgot to ask. Will remember the spot when I'm passing through again.

"Best coleslaw I've ever had!" Didn't expect much from the beaten up old shopping center but after seating ourselves the waitress quickly brought us menus and asked what we were drinking. After drinks arrived we ordered appetizers and the lunch special sandwiches. Appetizers and food came out fresh, hot & quick. Everything was southern country style and soooooo gooood! Stop in and put some south in your mouth!!

Had it last night and the meats were alright, but most of the side dishes were subpar or downright bad.

We stopped in every year on the way to the beach for lunch. BBQ beef is killer. I also just say the banana pudding is pretty good as well.

It's hit or a miss. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's not. But when you're hungry it's worth a try.

That said, the restaurant could definitely use a good deep cleaning. We noticed cobwebs up around the windows and among some of the decorative areas after we ordered and sat down. All the bread products (in plastic bags on trays) were in the hallway just outside bathrooms. I noticed after we ate and was leaving. My daughter ordered the 2-meat plate with pulled pork and brisket. She asked for a baked potato as one of her sides even though it wasn't listed as an option, and they had no problem accommodating her. The baked potato was a good size. She also had mac and cheese and chose the garlic toast instead of cornbread. She felt the mac and cheese was a little too runny and overly cheesy, and the garlic toast was nothing special. The brisket and pulled pork were okay, but neither had much flavor on their own and definitely needed BBQ sauce. I ordered the 3-meat plate with ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, along with French fries and a baked potato. The portions were generous, and the fries were hot and salty just how I like them. Unfortunately, the cornbread was overcooked and didn't have much flavor. Like my daughter's meal, all three meats were plentiful but lacked seasoning or smoky BBQ flavor and really needed sauce. They had four BBQ sauce choices available, but none really stood out to me. If I went back, I'd probably bring my own favorite BBQ sauce. Our total was around $50 for the two of us, including two fountain drinks, so roughly $25 per person. Overall, the portions were very good and the menu offered plenty of choices, but for a BBQ restaurant, I expected the meat itself to have a lot more flavor without having to rely so heavily on the sauce.

This is pretty standard BBQ. I had the pulled pork sandwich on a bun, beans, and slaw. The sauces…read moreare good. I like the Hot Momma sauce. The highlight night just be the grape juice lemonade.

We came in on a Wednesday evening. We asked about the menu and were told at the counter that it was Wing Wednesday and the wings were $1 each. Well how could we not add those onto our order. We ordered a Burnt Ends platter with mac and cheese, and corn nuggets, a Brisket Platter with corn nuggets and beans. We also ordered a large mac for my son and a side of lean brisket. For the wings we ordered the Cajun ranch. Our food started coming out in about 5 minutes. Firstly, I was shocked at the wings. I love wings, but they aren't something I usually order often as I find them just OK. There are only a couple places that I visit specifically for wings. Well, let me tell you, I would make a visit back just for these wings. OMG, the Cajun ranch was simply amazing, really addictive. They were my favorite item. We devoured them. The burnt ends were very good. I appreciate they are big chunks of brisket with no pull pork filler. The flavor was amazing as well and the bits of fat melted in our mouth. The corn nuggets were fine and the Mac N Cheese was quite tasty. We enjoyed the meal so much, were were trying to figure out somewhere for a family lunch the next Sunday and came back again. This time my sister, son and I brought my dad. We of course ordered more wings and burnt ends and brisket with lots of Mac N Cheese. The food really is something special. The wings are absolutely wonderful and the burnt ends are a hit. This is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants and will always be on my list of visits to enjoy when I come back to Jax.

Baldwin was a close small town off the road, so we explored a bit and found this smokehouse, which seemed to be the most populated building in the area! The owner (or owner's wife?) was super busy doing everything up front, but took care of everyone and was very actively friendly, exactly emulating the idea of southern hospitality. We got wings and a pork dinner all of which were very flavorful (crispy but not overly fried wings, great smoking on the pork) with excellent textures. The green beans were some of the best I've ever had, and the fries were basically perfect. The banana pudding was kind of off-putting compared to the rest of the food, tasted like it was made either very artificially or with unripe bananas, but maybe I'm not very used to the flavor because I don't have it much. The smoothness of it was great. The shop was pretty small but fully packed until halfway through our food, as we arrived a bit later than the usual lunchtime, and was very cozy. Only complaint is the environment bit dirty, but with so many customers only a couple people working, it makes sense. Will come again if in the area!
