Cup of chili BEWARE - topping are 99 cents extra EACH!
    Loretta W.

Server was great, attentive and pleasant. Started with the mini tacos app. Pretty disappointed they were not homemade but just frozen and heated. Not impressed for $9.99 The Cobb Salad was good size for $12.55. The blue cheese crumbles were bland and the garlic dressing needed more zip. Got the Monday Special Half Slab for $12.99. Sauce was delicious. I thought mine were tender and tasty but spouse thought his were a bit on the dry side. Charging .99 cents each for the cheese and onion toppings on the chili was a surprise when we got the check because the server did not mention they were extra. Felt kinda like they were adding $$$ everywhere they could. The atmosphere is cool, the staff is attentive, the bathrooms and place is very clean but it's like, OK we were here, probably not a "Hey let's go there again" kinda place

Decent classic BBQ spot. Worth it if you're in the mood for casual ribs, but not the place if you're looking for top-tier, competition level BBQ every time.

Good food, even better service. We went to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday after she saw an influencer rave about the place, and it deserved praise. The fried pickles are excellent. We got a few Pit Platters to try the brisket, chicken, and ribs. The brisket was my favorite; it was flavorful and a smooth eat. Great with the BBQ sauce provided. The rib meat fell right off the bone. Chicken was also good, as were the fries and the buffalo wings. An ok beer selection. Servers were friendly and helpful throughout. No wait for a table, as there was plenty of space. Ambiance was nice and warm with a retro vibe and lots of Jay Leno photos by the front door. We will be back.

We can never pass up a rib place, so we decided to drop in here. So here is our review, as we had friends to rave about this place. First, the French fries were good but seemed almost cooked too hard, Ribs were however amazing and moist, Shrimp were large and good. Greek Sausage and peppers were good but our BBQ chicken kind of disappointing as some pieces were juicy and tender however the wing portion was too hard to eat and near bottom of chicken breast was dry. However the service and staff were great. We didn't get to try the pork chop yet so our next time we will try it. This place despite some negative reviews is decent for the money, and everyone has an off night.

The smell catches you when you get out of the car ... driving up the outside decor catches you eye. The selection is out standing a taste and flavor for everyone taste buds the amount they give you is well worth the money. The waitress was more than happy to answer any questions we had about the selection. The food came out quickly and Hot

Here's a screenshot of their Monday special from their menu on the website.

I've seen this place for years and always wanted to try it. Tonight was the night. They advertise $12.99 half slabs om Monday. My son ordered the half slab, and the waitress asked what 2 sides he would like. He went with Corn on the cob and Cole slaw. I ordered the half slab as well with Cole slaw and fries. First the food. I was so disappointed in the ribs. Not only were they falling off the bone, they were almost mushy. But for $12.99, they were edible. Then the bill came. We were charged $19.99 for each half slab. I questioned the waitress, and she said that the special only includes the Texas toast and fries. I said so you're charging me $7 for 2 ounces of Cole slaw. She said she would go talk to the manager, who knows if she really did or not. Needless to say, I walked out of there very disappointed. Now I sit at home, mad at myself for not demanding to speak to the manager myself. My wife even showed her the menu from their website, and it didn't say anything about the special only including fries. Even if that's the case, why was I not just charged for a side of Cole slaw instead of $7? Needless to say, I won't be going back. So frustrated from this experience! I posted a screenshot from the Specials menu on their website.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a gentleman behind the counter. He was friendly and very helpful as I was obviously there for the first time. The place has got an Old West theme; probably left over from the 70s or 80s, but that's why I love it more. Plenty of seating inside but I opted to sit outside on the picnic tables out front. I had the brisket sandwich with coleslaw, beans, and a side of fries. There was a fair amount of brisket on the sandwich itself. So much so I was surprised it was very tasty and pretty moist. Could have been a wee bit moister. I wasn't as crazy about the beans but I think that's a matter of taste. Something in the seasoning. That being said, the fries were amazing! I'm not usually really concerned about french fries but every single one of these were crispy and had the perfect amount of salt. I also very much liked the creamy coleslaw. I look forward to coming back and trying the ribs and maybe some Greek specialties.

I've had their BBQ ribs and other items in the past, but decided to try their Beef Brisket Sandwich. The sandwich had a fair amount of brisket, and I especially liked how they lightly toasted the roll, similar to an Italian beef roll, nice and chewy. It's counter service, and when your order is ready, they announce your number on your receipt. Gemato's is a good place for families or large parties with plenty of seating.

We walked back out and found the door to the restaurant. Staff is warm and friendly and we were seated quickly. Our server was Robert and he was great! He gave his recommendations for which sides would go best with our meals and I felt they were spot on. They give complimentary bread and butter. It was warm and delicious. Hubby ordered the rib tips with fries, baked beans, and had the hot and mild barbecue sauce on the side. I ordered the 1/2 dark smoked chicken dinner with mac-n-cheese, spicy Cajun green beans, and spicy honey garlic barbecue sauce. I agree with Robert, that the sauce pairs very well with the chicken. The tips were tender and falling off the bone. He didn't care for the fries and loved the baked beans, even though they were a bit too spicy for him. My chicken was also very tender and I enjoyed the smokiness. The green beans had the right amount of spice although they were not as spicy as the baked beans. The mac-n-cheese was creamy. We were too full to order dessert. Maybe next time. This is a great neighborhood staple and will definitely be back.

The lighting and décor felt festive without being overwhelming, and the space itself is huge. There's plenty of room whether you're dining with family, catching a game with friends, or just unwinding with drinks after a long day. Speaking of drinks, they're very reasonably priced--definitely worth opening a tab and relaxing for a while. For food, I tried Chuck's Wings with roasted vegetables and Cajun fries. Nothing is ever truly perfect, but these wings came close. The sauce was spot-on--easily some of the best I've had. The vegetables were cooked just right and packed with flavor, and the Cajun fries tied everything together perfectly. Overall, this spot delivers on both atmosphere and quality. Definitely worth checking out.
