1 Meat Combo Platter with Smoked Beans and cornbread
    Philip J. H.

I admit I ordered the food way ahead of my planned schedule but I don't worry since I feel like eating it I will. Via a delivery service I ordered a meat & side combo and I opted for St. Louis ribs with cornbread (it's a sin to not have it with BBQ) and a side of beans & also opted for Texas Chili & my instincts say it's a winner for what I selected (photos will be included).

Making my own sampler plater, 1/2 lb brisket and pulled pork , coleslaw and beans. And cheeseburger.

1st time here, driving by you almost don't even know it's a BBQ , it looks like a converted convenient store. Definitely needs better signage and stuff out front to make it look like a BBQ, maybe some picnic tables , just something to catch everyone's eye beside the monster truck , I wanted a sampler , I ordered a 1/2 lb of pulled pork, 1/2 lb of brisket, a small coleslaw and small beans . And my GF got a burger and two sodas , like $50 . 1st the brisket was so good , it changed my life forever . It was so good , I've never seen such moist , tender fall apart brisket with perfect flavor , every bite was better than the last . Definitely a 10 out of 10 !!!! The pulled pork was just ok, was only semi warm - cold and dry , yesterday's leftovers ? Hey it was still good with BBQ sauce on it , but alone it was the most disappointing thing I ordered . I love coleslaw, and it was perfect , nice and moist , and a good amount for like $4 . The beans were nice a hot, smoky flavor . Same amount as coleslaw for $4 . A bargain really . My GF loved her cheeseburger , no complaints from her . Definitely doesn't have the BBQ vibe . More like a convenient store with a BBQ on the side . There are a 6 or 8 tables - booths to eat in , everyone is very friendly . There should be a line down the street for the brisket though . One employee said if I liked the brisket to try the brisket sandwich next time. 2 pieces of brisket was like $13 so maybe the sandwich is a better deal ? Not sure but I'm sure it's to die for .

We got the seasoned beef nachos, and 2 platters with ribs, burnt ends, brisket and sides. The nachos were average. They were Good but nothing special. The meat was all very tender and the sauces were delicious. The brisket was so tender and the ribs were very meaty. The burnt ends weren't very burnt though and were a little disappointing. The Mac and cheese was good but we would not recommend the baked beans. The cornbread was also delicious. The service was very slow and we waited quite a long time to order and be served. They have both a BBQ and a Polish specialties section and, unable to decide between the choices, we got both the Polish Dish (a combo for only $10?!) and the more "expensive" of the BBQ combo plates ($13 compared the other $11 and $12 combo options). The Polish Dish has pierogi, kielbasa, sauerkraut, stuffed cabbage and a side of rye bread and sour cream - we got this one with the optional mustard and horseradish. For the BBQ we got brisket (soooo good) and steak tips. The sides were beans and mac and cheese (all small but good) and cornbread. This dish allowed you to pick two sauces, so I did! Somehow we got a bag of chips on top of this - daily special? No idea but will enjoy those when I make up the leftovers in a sandwich. We will 100% be back.

The atmosphere…read moreis really cool (beautiful barn/indoor space with plenty of seating) and the staff has been fantastic. Most recently we enjoyed their outdoor seating and live music offerings. They have a lot of outdoor space which is dog-friendly so long as they are on a leash. Beers: They have a good variety of brews available which is always nice! They seem to have staples that are available nearly year round and plenty of seasonal options. We enjoyed The Dude (stout), Big Red Barn (imperial red ale), House Export (lager helles), Snowy Silo (winter ale) and Lemon Shandy. We were not so crazy about their Saison's, but that's more a matter of personal preference. Food: Gotta love a brewery that also has a solid menu! We get the wings every time we visit. They are big, crispy and perfectly prepared (coming from a Buffalo native and a total wing snob). We particularly enjoyed the old bay and Cajun dry rubs! We also tried their paninis when we visited back in February and they were very good. Covid-19: Beer in the time of Corona! They recently reopened (mid June 2020) and had a large tent set up out back with social-distance-arranged picnic tables. They were actively cleaning tables as people were leaving them. They also have a large open seating area so folks brought in lawn chairs and set up their own spaces. Face masks were required while ordering beer/food and walking around but not while seated. They had an outdoor bar set up where they poured drinks and took food orders. They gave a number for food and would call out once it was ready. Food was packaged in to-go containers within bags that you could take back to your area to eat. Overall I think they are handling the re-opening very well while sticking to the states guidelines.

First off I will help you by saying the beer is probably the worst I have ever had from any brewery and I have been to many and I mean many over my life. Secondly, they can't handle any social media criticism. I recently left a review of a show saying it wasn't very good but praised the atmosphere even though the beer is awful. They took it down not only once but twice. A real establishment would say something like "Im sorry we didnt live up to your standards" but no, like cowards they deleted it because they didnt want other people to see it. Very unprofessional. So here I am. The beer is a Negative star and the staff a one star and they only get that because the parking attendant was nice.

The pork was cooked perfectly. No sauce or rub on it but it came with 2 different BBQ sauces, one was a Carolina Gold style and another that seemed to be Kansas City style. I am a Carolina fan and was not disappointed at all. It really brought it all together. The slaw had a very nice kick to it. The cornbread and hush puppies were a little on the dry side but had good flavor. The collard greens did let me down as I am used to more hamhock or bacon flavor, however it was not a deal breaker for me. l am looking forward to my next visit here.

However, despite all those necessary adjustments, CPC dished up some terrific barbecue for us. We ordered a brisket plate ($15) and pulled pork plate ($13) to go. Each plate came with a slab of cornbread and your choice of 2 sides. We selected sweet potato fries, mac and cheese, Baked BBQ beans, and cheese grits. The meals were served with 2 containers of BBQ sauce -Sweet St. Louis and Tangy Memphis. We made up a few combination plates for dinner tonight, and both of us agreed that the food was very good. Let's start with the meat, because, after all, this is a BBQ place. I liked the brisket a lot, once you trimmed the slices, they were very lean, very meaty, very tasty and plain old excellent. The slices were on the thicker side, but I didn't mind that one bit. The pork was tender and juicy and full of flavor. I added some of that Sweet St. Louis sauce to my plate, and it was great, with tons of flavor and no heat. I sampled three of the sides and thought the Gold Medal Winner was the mac and cheese. It had a luxurious texture and was loaded with cheesy goodness. The grits were excellent too. My wife and I split opinions on the cornbread, I liked it more than she did, and I think that's because it wasn't as sweet or as moist as the cornbread we've had in the past at various BBQ joints.. We also picked up two pieces of smoked salmon we'll target for dinner this week. All of that ran us less than $40, so we think the value is pretty darned good. The location is gorgeous, you are right next to the North Pond Marina of Lake Congamond so you can watch the boats from their outdoor patio if you're in the mood to do some people and boat watching. I'm sure we will be back because the BBQ options around here are few and far between.

Not sure if that was the telling sign but for a rainy Saturday afternoon I would expect someone in here. Few people did show up after I ordered so that was good. Looked over the menu and none of the apps really stood out so went with what I came here for which was the brisket. Ordered that with a side of beans, brussels sprouts and a key lime pie to finish off the meal afterwards. Nothing I had screamed I need to come back soon. The pastrami did look good in one of the pictures here on Yelp, and a couple of gentlemen who showed up later order chicken sandwiches and I overheard them saying they were chicken sandwich connoisseurs and it was very good. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? I was happy about the service. Struck a nice conversation with the bartender about the music playlist and how pleasing it was to hear some tracks that really fly under the radar being played. I do want to give here another chance being close to home. Place is pricey for bbq and as I said was not overly impressed with the food. There is a place near Stowe, VT that has really set the bar for me of what really good brisket is. And there is BT's in Strubridge, MA. which too has good selection of bbq.
