The best Texas style barbecue in the area, hands down. Big portions, low prices, great food.

While in our travels to Atkins Farm, we passed Pig Park BQQ. My family and I decided to call and order take out on our way back from the farm and support a local business during these uncertain times. I called and the man answered "hello?". I was confused and asked if he was from Pig Park BQQ and said yes. It was an interesting first impression. I ordered 4 meat plates. All plates come with coleslaw, cornbread and baked beans. I ordered 2 pulled pork plates, 1 brisket plate (that was mine) and 1 quarter rack of ribs plate. The reason why I'm giving PP BQQ 4 stars is because we didn't receive our correct order. The ribs did not come as a plate which was a big disappointment. Otherwise, I did truly enjoy the food, especially for the price. I can only attest for the brisket plate because that's all I've tried. I want to add a side note that we were offered BQQ sauce either vinegar based or tomato based for the on the side, as the meats aren't pre-mixed with them. We chose the tomato based and it was very good. It went excellent mixed with the tender brisket. The brisket had no fat on it, which I appreciated. The beans were soupy but when it comes down to it, they were tasty. The coleslaw was crunchy and creamy. The cornbread was a little hard on the edges but I could tell it was homemade. I dipped the cornbread in the remains of my baked beans. It was a good decision to do so. Overall, I'm happy with the quality of food and both myself and my family decided we would definitely visit again!

I ordered from pig park barbecue recently for some takeout. We ordered the meat platter with two sides. We ordered the baked beans, as well as the coleslaw. Our meat selections were brisket as well as the pulled pork and ribs. The brisket was quite good, the pork was pretty juicy and flavorful. The ribs, though these were the smallest portion to share with everyone, were probably the best. The brisket and pork were flavorful in that you could tell that they were smoked and tended to for quite a while. Though I was definitely generous with my servings of bbq sauce for added flavor. The baked beans were pretty good, and the coleslaw was fresh. In the future I might skip the beans and get another side to try - they did have a really good variety. Though I didn't have the brisket sandwich I was told it was quite good! I would definitely come back here again for casual takeout and try some different items on their menu - mac and cheese is next!

Menu. Apologies for the glare, people were standing there and the whole social distancing crap.

Have been wanting to give this place a go for quite some time and today is finally the day, even though it's cold and rainy and just plain dreary out. I sampled the brisket sandwich and tried both of his sauces. I liked the Carolina one the best. The brisket was good but I didn't taste much smoke on it and it didn't have much bark. The couple behind the counter were super nice and I can't wait to come back and give it another go and try a few more things on their menu. Sorry about no pic of my sammy, I was in such a hurry to eat it that I forgot.

The smoked meats are excellent. The side dishes are great. You can eat there at picnic tables or take the food home. Highly recommend.

We looked forward to every summer when Janine's would be open and at least 2 meals a week would come from here. Since the new owners took over, genuinely every single aspect of the business has been downgraded. The food, quality, consistency, operations management, and even the employee experience are all drastically worse. I'll list some specifics to illustrate my point... When the new owners took over, they swapped the pickup and order food windows. If you've ever worked inside the building or seen the layout, you know that this makes no sense. It hinders operations and ruins the natural flow of work when fulfilling food orders. It still confuses customers this far into the season. And that's not the only thing that ruined the experience for employees. Previously, employees earned minimum wage plus tips, and now under the new management, the employees get the service worker wage where tips are used to fill in the gap between what they get paid by the owners and minimum wage. The net pay went way down because of this. The three times I've eaten there since the owners changed, it has been a massive disappointment. The food quality is worse. They changed suppliers for staple menu items like fries, tangy gold sauce, and some of their meats. It's noticeable that the new stuff is significantly lower quality than before. And all these negative changes have come without a price decrease, but in fact higher prices year over year. And here's a direct story from the experience that led to this review: we got dinner from there tonight (for the last time), and the service was embarrassingly bad. Our order included a ceasar salad, which was meant to come with no dressing due to an allergy to the ingredients. Despite explicitly communicating and confirming with the employee on the phone (they read the order back), the salad came with ceasar dressing. So we had to call back, and explicitly state that we want the salad "with only three ingredients: lettuce, chicken, and croutons." After going back on the 20 minute side quest to pick up that new salad, it had no croutons and came with cheese. Unbelievable. And finally, the ice cream I ordered with the meal was grainy and disgusting. I've never had a single grainy ice cream from Janine's until this year. I really blame everything on the new owners. They ruined everything about this place. If they know what's good for this business, they'll sell it to competent people who care about its success.

Lovely evening outside enjoying a cocktail while waiting for the lobster feast to be served. Dinner was served in the old barn, which is nice and cozy. Checked out the fireplace and roasting jack, and immediately went outside for a sleigh ride. It was fun, and lasted about 10 min. We headed back in and had some cheese spread and crackers which were good and a drink from the bar. Soon it was time for warm mulled cider and wine. It's cool how they heat them up, with a plunge of a hot poker from the blazing fireplace. The mulled wine was very good. Shortly after the mulled wine the prime ribs came off the roasting jack, the fire built up, and the cauldron put on for the seafood chowder. All the ingredients went in, and people were offered the opportunity to stir it. Things wrapped up downstairs and the crowd headed upstairs to the dining room. I'd say there was ~150 people. Tickets were $90 each. It's communal dining which I typically like. It's cool to talk to different people and see where they come from etc. Not tonight. The person sitting next to us was like a radio you wish you could turn off for 2 hours. Not the restaurant's fault of course, but it did distract from the evening. Bread was served, white bread rolls and sweet potato muffins, I didn't try them but they looked nice. The seafood chowder came out, it was very good. The main course was brought to the tables, it was prime rib, 2 salted roasted potatoes, and a healthy dollop of mashed butternut squash. Unfortunately this is where the real disappointment started for me. My prime rib was so tough that I couldn't cut through it with a steak knife, and raw. I ate one of the potatoes, and it was fine. The butternut squash had thanksgiving type spices and the taste I had of them was nice. The myoglobin from the raw meat turned everything red and watery so I didn't eat apart from that. Dessert was hotel pans of apple pie, I didn't try it. Not being a quitter I took the prime rib home and after cutting off the hard fat with a proper kitchen knife was able to salvage ~4.5 oz. I tried to coax some tenderness into it with a quick sear and it worked. Unfortunately it was livery so into the trash it went. In my humble opinion the experience was very nice, with the food taking a back seat. That said, other people seemed to enjoy their meals, mine may have been the outlier. I won't be back.
