Blue cheese and bacon burger
Alissa T.

So good! We stopped here after a long afternoon of furniture shopping, and the Pizza Joint is conveniently located near all the big furniture shops! My family split a few pieces of pizza, a burger, and the chicken strips. Everything was so delicious. The man working behind the counter was very helpful with navigating all the menu options. The restaurant itself is clean, and they even had high chairs. We will be back!

My kids could eat pizza all day, every day, but they're also very basic cheese pizza. One of them will try new toppings, but almost always ends up back at cheese. My wife likes different toppings but ends up eating only 2 slices and I'm left with the rest. What makes this place work for me: * I can get several different sliced pizzas. * Great combo deals with a fountain drink (choose 1, 2, or 3 slices) * Beer and pizza slice deals. I wish Heineken was available on draft. * Free parking * Military parking How to order: * You order at the counter. They bring it out to you. Slices are already made, heated fast, and generously topped. Perfect when your basic kids want cheese and you want an adult pizza. This is one of those places that just works for families. Cheese pizza kiddos are happy, adventurous eaters have options, and I can actually enjoy something without having to worrying about having to eat a whole pizza. Fast, filling, casual, and stress-free.

Came back here with my buddy's and man oh man. Got the garlic knots again and we shared the buffalo fries ! Both so amazing! We got the Hailey's comet that had halal pepperoni. We loved the chipotle chicken also. But our favorite was the margarita highly recommend 10/10. You won't be disappointed.

AWARENESS: My son and I recently stayed in the Miramar area and were looking for new and highly rated places to eat on the Yelp app when we came across The Pizza Joint reviews. NARRATIVE: Walking in to the Pizza Joint, I was glad to see they sell pizzas by the slice. As you can see by the pictures I posted, there pizza slices come in many, many options. I ordered three slices and the drink combo which came in just around $20 bucks. All the pizza slices are heated to a crispy and hot temperature and they are not stingy with their slices or toppings. I tried the; Baron''s NY Special, the Murder Scene and the Bronx Bomber and I'd have to say, my favorite of all three was the Murder Scene. Not the best sliced pizza I've had but, not the worst by any means. SCENE: The Pizza Joint is located in the same strip mall as; The Burger Joint & Brew and the Royal Cigar Lounge right off of Miramar Rd. RECOMMENDATION(S): Good spot for a quick, easy and cheaper pizza option. Recommended.

I really liked the bbq chicken pizza. We went on a sunday after the movies in mira mesa and it was a great spot. Plenty of parking and easy access. Would love to come back and try the chicken pesto pizza. Service was attentive and I cant wait to come back

Flyin' Hawaiian and AleSmith blonde
Roxanne L.

Lawd jeezus a slice from this place hits really satisfies . I am not a fan of pineapple and ham pizza or big on ranch, but their Flyin Hawaiian is a sweet, savory, spicy blend that will have your lips tingling, mouth watering , and your soul will absolutely sing with joy. Not to mention they have a selection of local and not so local beers on tap. The service is great, atmosphere is lively.. give this place a shot.

Condiments (chili flakes, parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder)

Stumbled upon this pizza place on a Monday night around 8:45pm. There was a big sign that said 20% off for Military Mondays so since my boyfriend is a veteran we came in for a bite. We ordered 2 Pepperoni Jalapeno pizza slices, a Hawaiian slice, a Combination slice, and a soda for about $20 total with the discount. There was plenty of seating available and the slices were heated up and came out quickly! I liked that they offered oregano and garlic powder as condiments, and the fountain drinks had unique flavors! There was pineapple cream soda, vanilla cream, root beer, and black cherry. I got a kick out of mixing them, I mixed the vanilla cream with the root beer to mimic a root beer float :0) My boyfriend really appreciated the Military Monday discount so we'll definitely be coming back for it!

The Pizza Joint is a late night treat for takeout pizza and calzones near Miramar/Mira Mesa. Their pizzas, calzones, and strombolis are large & they've been consistent for pickup orders for me over the past three years. They are convenient and made to order. They offer some inside seating, online ordering, and there is open lot parking. The parking lot also has Tesla charging stations in front of the restaurant.

12/28/2024. Pizza by the slice display case. It's $4.50 per slice; $9.50 for two slices with a soda; or $13 for two slices with a beer.
Jeff F.

TPJ has tip-top pizzas and service. Here are the details... 12/28/2024. I've arrived here when they've opened at 10:00 am and they had fifteen different pizzas in the display case that were ready for purchase by the slice. It's $4.50 per slice and they have a deal at $9.50 for two slices with a cup for their soda fountain, or $13 for two slices with a beer. Chicken bacon ranch pizza by the slice: as expected, this slice didn't disappoint due to the combination of grilled chicken, smoked bacon, ranch sauce, and oregano that created harmonious flavors, 5/5 stars! Capo pizza by the slice: this meat trio of peperoni, sausage, and meatballs is perfect for carnivores. Combined with the zesty sauce and soft internal doughy crust that has a slight crispy exterior. If this just had more cheese, it would've been perfect. Thus, my rating is 4/5 stars. The service was just as spectacular. From the moment we've walked in, the gentleman greeted us with "good morning." He was ready to take our order at the front counter. I asked for his recommendation on pizza slices based on my preferences and he mentioned that capo is popular, while the bacon ranch pizza is their best seller. It took only about 2 minutes for the pizza slices to warm up and he delivered them to our table. Without us asking, he provided a small pizza box for a fam member's leftover pizza slice. The pizza was as tasty as anticipated, while the remarkable service was a welcoming surprise.

Undercooked. Was basically half cooked.
Peter L.

Pizza was undercooked. Dough was almost raw. Very little sauce. Not recommended. Paulys Pizza Joint a few blocks away is much better with similar prices. A bit odd that 2 pizza places have similar names so close to each other.

Bronx Bomber Pie
Coleen R.

Checked out The Pizza Joint in Miramar and was not disappointed! We ordered the Bronx Bomber pizza along with some garlic knots, and both were delicious. The pizza had a great balance of flavors, with quality toppings and a nice crust--not too thick or thin. The garlic knots were a solid addition, perfectly garlicky and soft. If you're in the area and craving a good pizza, I'd definitely recommend giving The Pizza Joint a try!

Our orders were taken quickly, and large waters with lemon were brought out to us. Our burgers came out in about 7 minutes and they were just what the doctor ordered. :) My chicken burger was especially delicious, and I'd asked for extra pickles, and let's just say that the Hodad's chefs did not disappoint. There had to be at least 15 pickles on this bad boy. YUM! Onion rings were crispy and delicious. M. loved his burger and as usual, his only complaint was that he wished it was bigger. Haha. We enjoyed our food and the fun, kitschy Hodad's dining area. I feel like every time I come here, I spot something on the walls, or dangling from somewhere, that I haven't seen before. It's always a good time at Hodad's and it is certainly worth a visit if you haven't been here before. Keep in mind they do have a limited menu (burgers, chicken burgers, veggie burgers, fries, rings, shakes & some beverages and beers.) However, the table next to us ordered shakes and they looked hella good. Next time for us, for sure!! Mahalo!

Rocky's Burgers is a casual burger spot located in Pacific Beach, known for its juicy burgers,…read moresimple menu, and convenient location in a busy beachside area with a laid-back, local vibe. Pros: I got the half-pound burger with fries and it was really good overall. The burger was super juicy, well-cooked, and had that classic hearty, satisfying taste you want from a solid burger spot. The portion size was generous, especially with the half-pound patty, and the fries were a great side to round out the meal. The location in Pacific Beach is also a big plus. It's in a great area with lots going on, so it's easy to grab food and walk around afterward or make it part of a beach day. The overall vibe of the spot feels casual and fitting for PB--nothing overly fancy, just good comfort food done right. Cons: Since it's in a busy beach area, parking and crowds can be a bit of a challenge depending on the time you go. It's more of a casual grab-and-go or quick dine-in spot, so don't expect a sit-down restaurant experience with a lot of space or quiet seating. During peak beach hours, it can also get pretty busy. Verdict: Overall, Rocky's Burgers is a great spot in Pacific Beach if you're craving a juicy, satisfying burger in a fun beachside area. The half-pound burger and fries hit the spot, and it's a solid choice for a casual meal before or after hanging out in PB.

Short story: service sucks and the food was meh…read more Long story: I've been really looking forward to eating here for a long time. It's always popping up as one of the best burgers in San Diego. The vibe in the place was cool. Bustling and music blasting. I look around for the menu. Not easy to find. I guess it's one of those "if you know you know" but then I saw a small chalkboard that listed the burger and a tiny printout pizza menu way in the back. I order a burger and coke. So pumped to try it. I ask for no onions and the guy at the register immediately cops a huge attitude like I ruined his day. He points at the chalkboard and says "no substitutions". I reply "no biggie! I can scrape em off or something" dude looks pissed and says "they're hard to scrape off" I know reading this I may sound unreasonable. Maybe dude was having a bad day. But the way he was looking and speaking to me made me want to walk away from the counter not bother ordering. If you are great at burgers but not customer service maybe stay off the register and stick to the grill. My friend with me goes "not very friendly for a place called the friendly" so it wasn't just me. The burger comes out. Honestly I'd bet on a good day it's great. But today it wasn't. Overly greasy. Ironically all of the onions slid right off so I'm not sure why he feels it would be too difficult for me to remove myself. The burger could barely stay in the bun it was so greasy. The aioli spread was all on one side of the burger and it was a mess. I'm not sure if maybe this place used to be great and since has declined, or if the staff was just having such an off day that it reflected in the effort of the food. Or if the guy just had some issue and felt like taking it out on us today. But needless to say. There's plenty of amazing smash burger places in San Diego. Excited to try somewhere else.
