3.5 stars. I went to Vons next door and noticed that Flippin Pizza had changed name/ownership. They had a Tuesday special, any slice for $2. I got 6 slices of pepperoni. The pep was a little sparse, flavor was lacking, but it was NY style, my favorite. It's very similar to Flippin, then you'll like this. Decent value for today's economy..

Forgot to snap a pic before I started eating. Yummy pizza!

They redid the dough recipe when they ditched flippin and the crust is the best ny style in San Diego I've tried.

Eg, sometimes great and sometimes you have to ask for your water or drink multiple times while there aren't many people there. But they're at least consistently friendly. As for the food, well, to be fair I've only ever ordered a house salad, tots and random typical bar food. I'd say I like the tots and maybe a grilled cheese since not much on the vegetarian HH menu. I'm not coming here for a fine dining experience, just to unwind and chill for a bit with friends who love coming here. We always sit outside so I can't speak to what it's like inside other than it's nice and open. As long as my friends have fun and love the food and drinks, I'm happy to join. Star note: - I feel like 3 stars is too little and 4 stars is too much. I'm torn!

I ordered a unique one here roasted turkey breakfast burrito. Oh man, so yummy and fresh just the right amount of cheese and eggs and fries not too much of one or the other. Doordash Order Date…read moreof Visit: 4.10.2025 Cuisine Type: Breakfast shop Vibe: N/A Cost: ~$15-$20 per person depending on what you order What I Ordered & How It Was: Breakfast Burrito: 3/5 - It is a typical california burrito with fries, carne asada, eggs, and jalapenos and it came with 2 sauces (Tomatillo and Habanero). I think all the components are just standard nothing really stands out. You can expect the fries to be a bit soggy, the meat to be overcooked but what burrito place don't really do it that way (I think there is only one spot but I'll review them first and you shall see). I think the one thing i really disliked is just the layering...all the meat is on once side and all the fries are on the other side...so when you take a bite you get all potatoes then all meat...really wish it was a bit more mixed instead of split. I think you do get a nice picture, but that is about it. Service & Atmosphere: Service: N/A Ambiance: N/A Overall Thoughts: Best thing I ate: I can't say this is the best burrito considering it was a bit pricey too for what it is, but I guess inflation affected everyone oof Something to improve: Double fry the fries make it crispier so it won't be soggy, either make the carne asada even crisper or something cuz it feels like boiled beef, which isn't great. Mix the two elements a bit more, so each bite is more mixed vs. 1 thing. Would I come back? At the current price point probably not. I think given the burrito space it is quite competitive and you really need to do something more unique to beat say vallartas or cotijans.

I really enjoy the chimichurri steak and bacon sandwich which comes with caramelized onions, red peppers, and a delicious herby sauce. It comes on a crispy sesame seed crusted roll and it's my absolute favorite sandwich here. I also really like the not so fried chicken sandwich so when I come with my husband we usually get both and each eat a half. The not so fried chicken sandwich comes with little crisps that don't get soggy and a fresh slaw. It comes on ciabatta bread that is usually crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This time it came with a pickled sauce on the side that was really delicious. This location has a really nice outdoor seating area. There aren't too many seats inside but the outdoor area is nice. There is also a drive thru which you can order ahead on the app and pick up through. My main issue with this location specifically is the service. It's pretty slow and I've had bad experiences with it more than once here. There have been times when I had to wait for more than 45 minutes even when I order ahead. The workers aren't terrible but also don't seem eager to improve. That being said, the food is so good and makes up for this so I will continue to come back although I wish the food came in larger portions given the cost. Definitely my favorite chain sandwich shop.

The modern Caesar salad with chicken is always spot on, when made with my modifications :) This particular visit was really great because of the staff. There was one girl in general whose name I sadly did not get. She was incredibly kind and accommodating. They made my salad incorrectly (not a huge deal. They just added in extra of something I asked to be on the side) and she offered to remake it. It wasn't a huge said it was okay, but she genuinely seemed apologetic and offered to have it remade. I admit, I was a bit of a picky customer this day with lots of modifications and I had to come back for a second order because my family wanted more stuff. I always come back for the food, but I will keep this location extra in mind because of the staff!
