Worst garlic knots I have ever eaten. They genuinely tasted like stale bread. Complimentary would have been overpaying for them. I ordered from there on Monday night this week. Their pizza was pretty good. I had expected a large to be 18 inches and not 14 Inches but my girlfriend picked it up so prob thought bc of the price that large was 18 inches. I always get nervous when the food is already cooked and waiting for you to order it but with the first bite you can taste the freshness. i went at lunch and there was no wait. I ordered the 2-slice lunch special and it was tasty. I don't want to oversell it cause its pizza, you're not gonna "slap yo mama", but if you like New York style, you will like this. the crust of the za (pizza) had a good crunch to it but was also the right amount of chewy. it was perfectly balanced with the cheese, sauce, and toppings. I usually want more or less of one of those things, but here, no notes!! the inside had a certain charm as the walls had huge photos of boxing legends. it wasn't the biggest area but there was plenty of seating or enough room to host a group, but since it was a nice day I sat at the outside common area that is shared by all the business in the plaza. read more

Updating my review fr a year ago. Staff are not aware of current promos and I was referred to the manager. I asked a simple question whether I was able to order 2 promos in 1 transaction or if I would have to order separately. Either way, they get the same business. I was rudely told that it would have to be ordered by a different person and that's why it was called a promo. What?! No where in the promos is there any disclaimer that it's one promo per transaction or person. I was referred back to staff (super friendly and nice girl who sounded young), who processed my 1 order, and my husband called to place another order. My husband and friend went in to pick up the order since it had to be "2 separate people" and my husband was able to pay for both orders in 2 separate transactions. He said he didn't have a problem when he went in, but mentioned that he noticed the staff felt intimidated by the manager. We order here for convenience and the pizzas are good for thin crust, but this is the last time we order from here. For the staff, kudos for you in putting up with a manager that has a BS attitude. For customers, spend your $ elsewhere and support other businesses. read more

This is a small place with a big menu. Pizza, Pasta, Sandwiches and more. It has some cool pictures on the wall of places in New York and the table tops have maps. They sell pizza by the slice. We looked at them and even though they heat them in the oven, they looked as if they'd been there for a while. We decided to order the Hells Kitchen pizza and a Meatball Sandwich. The man who took our order was very friendly. The place seemed fairly busy to me but he said it was kind of slow. So I was surprised that it took quite a while to get our order. A review for Knockout is really long due. I'm reviewing now because I discovered they have online ordering for pick-up which is awesome during the pandemic. We had previously been ordering through delivery apps and I know they take a lot from restaurants, however, due to trying to stay cautious and safe at home, we used them. This weekend we were thinking of getting some pizza from Knockout and decided to check their website to see if they had their own delivery or even just online ordering (including payment) and they did. So we tried it out. I was a little skeptical because I hadn't heard of the website they used for online ordering before. Talech.com. But it all worked out great. I placed my order, paid, was even able to tip online. It would me when the order would be ready and even told me when it actually was. It was ready early! I went in told them I had an online order and they had it all ready. I did not have any issues with customer service at all. Everyone was masked, there were social distancing markers, and plexiglass. I was in and out very quickly. They were friendly too. The pizza was delicious and the cookies were even warm! My favorite pizza here is the knockout pizza. It's so delicious and I don't even know why. We've also tried a few other specialty ones and they were tasty too. Why 4 stars and not 5 then, I did have a poor experience once but it was years and years ago. I ordered a significant number of pizzas and they refused to give me more than 3-4 plates. I had ordered pizza for a party for 20-30 people - what was I going to do with 3-4 plates? They were going to charge me for more which I refused. Anyway, that was a long time ago. All the times I've had pizza from them during the pandemic have been a good experience and tasted great. I will definitely continue to support this small business! read more

I used to come here regularly on my work break when i worked across the street. I stopped coming after leaving my job but came in the other day for old times sake. I love the specials that they have. Two slices with a drink for $7, you can't beat that. It's a small place but then again you're there for the food, not the ambience. I've had the baked Ziti with extra mozzarella and a slice of pepperoni with jalapeño pizza. Delicious! I've never had an issue with the owner, he's always been friendly towards me. Came here with my son and his friends for some pizza after doing an activity to celebrate my son's bday. Ordered 2 18" pizzas, one pepperoni and one half cheese, half with olive, 8 dinks, 8 garlic knots and a garlic cheese bread. I received one pepperoni and one with cheese and olives on the whole pie. Since they are a small mom and pop shop, I didn't want them to take a loss so I didn't say anything about it. The older man who seemed to be the owner even asked if everything was ok and I said, "yes, everything's great." The good: pizzas tasted good - thin and a nice chew to it. For the kids that wanted cheese only, they had to pick off the pepperoni and olives, which didn't turn out too well. Knots were good and so we're the garlic cheese bread. The boys working the register were nice enough and helpful. The problem: we got 8 sodas. There were no ice coming out of the soda machine. When I told the owner about it, he said, "Yeah, the machine is out of ice." No apologies, no let me discount you for not having cold soda, nothing. As we were wrapping up, I asked for a small box for the left over pizza. The owner asked me how many slices I had left but in an accusatory kind of way, making me feel like I shouldn't have asked. When one of the boys said to give me the 14" size box, they owner said, "Fine, take whatever." Made me feel as if I was inconveniencing him by being a customer. Really odd. This was me and my boyfriend's first time at Knockout. We walked in and I immediately felt so uncomfortable and awkward, but we proceeded to the register to order. It was still lunch time so I decided to do their two pizza slices and drink lunch special. Not knowing much about the menu, it took me a while to figure out what slices to get. The owner was just standing there and seemed annoyed waiting for me as if he had something else better to do. I felt so rushed so I just ordered the pesto slice sitting up in the front and a basic pepperoni slice. The way he talked to us made me feel like I was a hassle. The food is good, but very oily. The pizza was very thin and not like Pizza Hut or whatever else pizza we're used to here. My boyfriend got the calzone and it was h u g e!! I personally wasn't a fan but I liked the pizza. I may a stop here for a couple of quick slices of pizza and a drink. Luckily for me, they still offer their lunch special on Sundays or every day of the week. The special consist of 2 slices of pizza of your choice and iced tea or soda for $7. For my slices, I chose a Marguerite and a Hawaiian slice with a an unsweetened iced tea for my drink. The slices, being of the East Coast variety, were thin crust and pretty good. The Marguerite was my favorite, other than missing the garlic, it had nice fresh tomatoes and plenty of basil with a good amount of flavorful cheese. The crust on both was mostly crunchy, maybe a little to crunchy, because I like a bit of a chew in my crust. The Hawaiian slice was nice and provided some good flavors via the savory ham, pineapple, and light spread of tasty tomato sauce. The crust was similar in texture to the above slice, and for some reason it was much more oily to. I think it came from ham or natural water from the pineapple that escaped during baking. Like I said, the slice tasted very good, but I needed to dab it a bit with a paper towel. All in all, the pizza were good and the so is the lunch deal. If I remember correctly, they also have a salad, slice, and drink lunch special too. Service was friendly enough. read more

I think it should be important to note that that the main reason I came here was because I was thinking this place was in the same family as other Knockout and Flippin' pizza places all over north county. Walking inside, however, I was sad to see that they had no idea what a Whitestone was and they had a number of unfamiliar pasta dishes and sandwiches on the menu. You look at the walls and they have the same, telltale pics of Muhammad Ali and Rocky Marciano hanging up. They have the same two slices and a drink combo that many of us have come to love. And they even do that similar New York Style, where they half cook their pies, then finish them to order. Yet, as I said before ... no Whitestone! There was something similar, but I didn't feel like risking it this time around. No, I went in and came out with the Italian Hero Hot Sub Sandwich. First off, the taste was good, salty salami, a light heat on the pepperoni, covered with that acid bite of the dressing, all on a toasted roll with a good toss of greens. But, while it was a nice length, there wasn't much on it; if you glance at the pics, you can see there's a single layer of meat, with not much thickness to anything. A cheaper sandwich at Subway or Jersey Mike's (which is far inferior in flavor) will give you about two or three times the filling for a bit less the cost. Now, I'm not advocating that they drop the quality to be able to afford more cheese and such, but a sandwich which is about 80% bread, most of the filler being lettuce, was a tad disappointing. Next, they put whole pepperoncinis into the sub. Don't get me wrong, I like pepperoncinis, but they're best on the side. When you don't realize they're lying in wait between the bread, you end up taking a good sized bite and chomping down onto a hard stem. I ended up crunching down onto two of them before wising up and pulling the rest of them out to enjoy later. Last, they forgot the cheese! This wasn't too bad, I guess, as I don't think the warm provolone, it was supposed to come with, would have been the best on this sub. I would have preferred a couple slabs of fresh mozzarella instead. So, in the end, just a so-so sandwich that could have been much better all around. I'm sure I'll definitely be back to test out what pies they have to offer. But, as it stands, I think I'll stay away from the rest of the subs. read more

This is "the" pizzeria to go to! If you want NY style pizza without having to actually go to NY, well all you have to do is come here. I can't believe I never noticed Knockout Pizzeria. Every time I shop at Fresh&Easy, I pass by this establishment. Luckily, I saw Steve F.'s review and knew I had to try this place out. You can order by the slice or an entire pie. I went for a nicely thin slice of spinach, garlic, & ricotta pizza for just $2.75. YUM! Every bite left me lusting for more! I also really recommend their garlic knots, which are bready knots bedazzled with a buttery & garlicky flavor with a sprinkle of parm on top ($3.25). Comes with a marinara dipping sauce which really adds to the flavor and pizzazz. I am definitely coming back for more. Another plus was the fact that their dining tables are maps of NY! They have a good selection ranging from supreme, marghertia, hawaiian, sausage & pepperoni and about 4 others ready to go. If getting your slice, you choose your slice and they put it in their fire oven to get nice and warm and crispy. Crust is nice and has a nice crisp with every bite. Toppings are plentiful and cover every bite. Service - we got the hello and thanks goodbye when we left. They seem humble and really friendly. The only caveat I have here is each time I have went, I felt like the pizza could have been "fresher" but honestly, for the price I can't complain. It does seem like the pizza has been sitting out there for a while, and even when heated up again, and although they keep the crisp and flavor, it's just not as HOT as I prefer.
