Fantastic local pizza place! We ate at their sister restaurant in Clinton and loved it so much that we wanted to give this location a try as well. This location has a larger seating area with the same great tasting pizza. Their manager Jeremy is AWESOME! He was super friendly and suggested his two favorite pizzas which were spot on. I had The Diamond pizza on traditional crust and it was soooo good. I loved the combination of the queso sauce, the bbq sauce and all the great meats. Highly recommend you give it a try. The small was a ton of food for one person and super filling. My husband always gets the meats every where we go and Jeremy suggested he try it with Alfredo which was super tasty. Definitely give this place a try, their thick traditional crust cannot be beat. Also, Jeremy needs a raise because he is a fantastic employee!!! read more

I should have read the recent reviews of this pizza place before even placing my order. However, I saw them bragging on their Facebook profile about being the best pizza place in MS for 14 years. I highly doubt this is still the case unless they only cook the food properly for competitions. I should have taken a picture of the entire pizza but it was only suggested after we had started eating it since it was already paid for. I ordered both the BBQ chicken pizza and an order of cheese sticks. They both were burnt and overcooked. I visited the location on Dec 24, 2024 6:00pm. The manager on duty was very unprofessional and rude when taking my order. She displayed behavior as if she hated her job. When she brought my order to the table I told her my pizza was hard and over cooked and the cheese was dry and hard on the pizza. She began to argue with me about how people been complaining lately about the pizza being over cooked when it's not. Her attitude with so nasty I didn't trust her to remake my pizza. There was a point the meat lover was really good. Years later I order again it turn out extremely salty perhaps new owners and as of today 5.13.25. I was surprised to receive a large meat lover with thin crust that had the appearance of being dry looking. Each to its own I just do not believe it was worth the $28. The food and service were both horrible. I placed a call-in order and was told it would be ready in 30 mins. I had another stop to make and I assumed by the time I'd finished, the pizza would be ready. I arrived well after 30 mins and the pizza was not ready. There were other customers that had been waiting an hour or more just for a pizza. When I did get the pizza, it was overcooked. There was no need to ask for a refund as there's a sign stating "no refund" exchange only(or something similar). Nevertheless, I just the loss. I must say that I was very disappointed with my order on March 29th. I've always enjoyed their food but my 2 large pizzas were over cooked. I've been getting pizza from Pizza Shack since it was a literal shack. I live in the neighborhood and used to tell people all the time that it's the best pizza in Jackson. Unfortunately that is no longer true. In fact I'm kind of embarrassed to have recommended it to someone from out of town just last week. I just bought two medium pizzas and a salad for $58 - based on historic quality of the food and service this might be acceptable - but with the current, clueless service and food quality it's overpriced. I had to compromise on the salad dressing because, as is frequently the case these days, they had no Italian dressing. When I got home I discovered that both pizza crusts were completely raw in the middle 3" (not for the first time recently). I did not take them back because I am pretty sure the cashier would have had no idea what to do and I prefer to keep my blood pressure under control. I did call and tell the cashier that the pizzas needed to be fully cooked, but was greeted by stunned silence. Sadly, this will probably be my last time to order from what used to be an iconic neighborhood pizza joint, and I definitely will not be recommending their overpriced and undercooked pizza to anyone any more. read more

I ordered an hour before closing (probably not the best idea because there were so many people also ordering last minute) but I thought if I ordered it online it would be ready by the time I arrived. It wasn't, but no big deal. I waited inside for an additional 20-30 minutes as they approached closing. Everyone inside wore their masks but I found it quite negligent that the few workers present weren't wearing their masks correctly. Nonetheless, the wait was well worth it I suppose. While some might squabble about the occasional bad service or incorrect order but, 95% of the time these cats are shooting out the gym. I've been going here for years (when the shack basically really was a shack) to now, when they have multiple locations across the Sip, without missing a beat. I love the variety of za's on their menu as well as the unique take on pizza they approach it with, aka "Mississippi-style". The food is delicious. We ordered a large Carnivore (all meat) and a large cheese pizza plus 6 sodas in regular cans. Cost was $64.78. Then we waited almost 25min for our order. More expensive than the service and the environment should have been. At least the pizza was good. I now know why most folks called their order in and took it to go. Parking and parking LOT behind building suck. If you have a nice vehicle do NOT drive behind building. The outside of this building is a little sketchy (broken window, and lots of bars on the door. Inside isn't necessarily meant for large (6 people) groups. Not enough sitting inside. Had three employees sitting at one of the few booths so even more limited sitting. One of our booths table literally wobbles so much you have to eat with your elbows on the table. Order is at register, only drinks are can's or bottles. More selection of beer than soda's. Used to be some of the best pizza in Jackson but no longer worth the money. I had a build your own small and for 15 dollars I expected a lot more the way they used to make pizza. My crust was super thin and just okay on the toppings and added one I didn't ask for but thankfully I wasn't allergic. I need you guys to go back to quality control and making sure your pizza is the same at every location. Do better but doubt I will be back anytime soon. This is probably the best pizza spot in the Jackson-Metro area. The customer service is always good and their pizzas are very, very consistent and taste great. When you get a Pizza from Pizza Shack you will not have to worry about skimpy toppings or soggy dough. Everything is based on quality. I usually go for the chicken or shrimp Alfredo. My family prefers the carnivore or supreme. Basically they all taste good. They also fix them to your specification. I was just starting to fall in love with this place and hope this review is only a reflection of the weekend service and food quality. I ordered a six piece lemon pepper wing order and a small supreme pizza. The wings were NOT lemon pepper, and all meat on the pizza was rushed and appeared to not be fully cooked. While the wings were great - they weren't TOP 5 of all time worthy. No, no. They were SOLID (as in...GET THEM!) but the real start of the show was: DOUBLE.CHEESEBURGER.PIZZA WHOA. Double ground beef - which was in perfect little meat balls. Seasoned exceptionally and stacked on there generously. A sweet tomato sauce unlike any I have ever had. Chopped up pickles and onions mixed in with ooey, gooey American cheese. We got our pizza to go. I didn't get the oozing cheese as others had mentioned. The pizza layers were a bit odd for me. Crust, sauce, toppings, cheese, then more toppings. Almost too much toppings. I guess I am just a pizza purist. I like keeping my pizza simple (thin crust, sauce, cheese and a few toppings). If i ordered the thin crust it probably would've just collapsed in my hands. That's what this pizza did. I picked it up and all the toppings slid off. The sauce wasn't anything special. The sauce and cheese make a pizza. I didn't get that here. It was all about packing on the toppings. It looks good in photos but eating it is another story. My mother in law had a the Asian chicken salad. This place is really good, I love the crust on the pizzas I love the variety they offer. I had the BBQ Pulled Pork, Fajita Chicken and the Cajun Joe. If I had one knock on the place is they were out of the beef for the Mexica Pizza and the only reason this is a knock is the other 3 pizza were good and I know that Mexican pizza would have been great. I have ordered from Pizza Shack on Fortification on 2 separate Sundays recently. Both time I called in my order and was told it would be 30 minutes. The first time I got there paid for my order and waited. It was a total of 1 hour between my order and me getting my food. There were several people waiting who also had to wait an hour. One person who complained was told they would give him a discount off his next order, but that they did not give refunds. The second time I got there, it was not ready. I did not pay in advance this time. It took 50 min between my order and receiving my food. I complained and was given a 30% discount. I was told that they had been very busy since the COVID-19. I am think that after 6 months they should have added staff to solve these long wait times, and start giving more realistic waiting times over the phone. When I was working downtown, I would go here for lunch. I would usually get the classic italian sub sandwhich or the chef salads, both were pretty tasty. I would never give the pizza a try, due to two things, the price or didn't have the taste for pizza. Well one day, me and the better half went to the Jackson Free Press' - Best of Jackson Award show and sampled some of the grub. Pizza Shack had a booth set up and were giving away samples of their pizzas. I tried the Cajun Joe, which is made up of nothing but goodness! I know it had andoulie sausage, but I was too busy salivating over how damn good the pizza was. They load you down with toppings and the cheese, sauces are fresh. We ordered the large supreme and it was worth the $19. We couldn't even finish the thing. I took pictures of the large supreme we ordered, god I wish these guys delivered!
