It's tough to find good pizza in VB, but The Pizzeria is an answer to my pizza prayers. Perfect hand-tossed crust and a pizza tomato sauce that is the right balance of sweet and zesty. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and felt welcome and appreciated by the very friendly and professional team member who took my order. He said it would take about 20 minutes and he was correct. (He even gave me an update at the 10 minute mark). The pizza was outstanding and the garlic knots were handmade instead of some premade frozen junk like most places. The shop itself is old school style for pop-in, order, and takeout. There're a couple tables to wait at, but not really meant for sitting there to eat. I had a taste for pizza and did not want to purchase from a chain restaurant or my usual go-to Mom and Pop pizzeria. The Pizzeria is the truth! I just wish I would've dined in instead of taking it home so that I could've enjoyed my pizza nice and hot. When I got home the pizza was warm but still extremely tasty! I literally hummed and did a little dance at first bite. The staff were pleasant when I placed my order and picked up my pie. The price for a 18" half pepperoni was reasonable. My only critique for this visit is that I wish there was better lighting in the plaza or that they had a sign that lit up. This was my first visit and although Google maps got me to the plaza, I was unsure of The Pizzeria's location due to it being dark outside. Ate there the other night for the first time. Called my order in and was told it would be 30 mins. Got there in 20 and it still took 30. More minutes. There was a guy sitting in there that waited for over an hour for a plain cheese pizza. Another guy had ordered plain cheese and they put pepperoni on it so he had to wait 30 more minutes to have them remake it. The entire staff seemed to have no clue and they couldn't keep up with simple pizza orders. Don't get me wrong,the pizza was great. Get your staff up to par and you get 5 stars. read more

Virginia Beach's Pizza Hidden Gem!! I've lived next to the Pizzeria for 7 years and never went in. Looking at the dilapidated closed businesses around it and thinking it was just another pizza joint, I never gave it a thought. Additionally, the outdoor décor isn't attracting me to their doors. My diet is usually Paleo or Keto so if I'm going to cheat, it will be with a one of a kind pie from The Bakehouse at Chelsea, Hearth, Commonwealth Brewery or Mellow Mushroom. The problems with these places: Bakehouse at Chelsea (In Norfolk too far from me), Hearth (packed), Commonwealth Brewery (packed), Mellow Mushroom (packed). I just want an amazing pizza without hassle. After eating the pizza from Pizzeria, I can easily proclaim, I've found my new cheat night pie! The owner explained that he worked for Papa John's, Marcos Pizza, and Wood Fire Pizza and has blended his years of experience into his craft. Damn, it was good and you could tell that this was not just another pizza joint making what they call a "Pizza" but an artisan bringing his years of experience to the meals. The pizza menu is extensive and fully customizable. But that huge bianca pizza selection is one I have never seen and something to see. The Pizzas we ordered: the Bianca Malaya and Deluxe. It hit all the pizza checks that I was looking for: CRUST: light, crisp and good. Perfect balance of tomato, mozzarella, and toppings. Not too greasy and full of taste!! Damn was it good, and I am a huge pizza snob. Funny thing about this place. My neighbors who lived their entire lives in New York City always told me to eat here since it was pretty much dead on for a New York Style pizza. I'm thrilled The Pizzeria has survived 5 years in an extremely competitive pizza market. But there was a reason I have not been back in over 4 years and it was validated again. The pizza just is not to my liking at all. The service was friendly on ordering picking up and purchasing. That's worthy of at least 3 stars in my book. The outside and interior clean and presents nicely with a great feel of local. That's what kills me to not keep them on par. Letting the food lead my family of 4 first agreed the pepperoni pizza was ridiculously greasy. We sopped off the grease. The taste was just ok. The toasty crust was the best thing about the pie. Adding parmesan cheese helped little. To each there own, but I cannot go back. I threw out the remaining slices not eaten. If you are dining in... make sure you went to the bathroom first (there is not a public bathroom) and they don't have silverware or plates... We had a less than great delivery experience here a couple of.weeks ago.im chalking it up to a busy night for a small shop and poor communication from grub hub...no harm, no foul. We ended up getting our food and it was delicious. Tonight, I got off my ass and went and picked up the pizzas. When you grab a slice from the box and it sits perfectly flat. That is a great moment. It doesn't droop or bend at the tip. It just sits perfectly flat. That's what I experienced tonight with, not one, but two...18" pies. One cheese and one pepperoni. These slices are huge...and, in the spirit of the recently passed Olympics, they stuck the landing. 10/10. This place makes great pizza, hands down. It's a tiny shop. Order a pie, go pick it up and enjoy. Crust is amazing and super thin and crispy. Absolutely love this place. Excellent pizza! We just went in on a saturday afternoon- they had a 10$ 14 inch pizza- any number of toppings-- SCORE! Joe patiently took our order and we chatted while Sean (?) made our pizza. Everyone was so friendly and our order was ready in under 15 min! The Pizzeria is a small location with 2 tables ( mainly a to-go/delivery place). Delivery is free with a 10$ min. Pizza- Our kitchen sink pizza ( a ridiculous amount of toppings) was AWESOME. The crust was light, cheese was enough and pizza wasn't too oily. Only thing i would change, is the crust. It was good, but could have been a bit crispier ( ill ask them to keep mine in the oven longer) :) . They sell standard pizzeria foods + local cheesecake from the caterer beside them. They've only been open 10 weeks, and i wont be surprised if this little place picks up pace, real fast. read more

We have ordered several items off their menu since we discovered these guys and haven't been disappointed yet. I am not a big fan of Pizza but we (my family) love this Pizza and we now order atleast once a week when I am to tired to cook. They also sell it by the slice which I personally love, when Im out running errands and need a quick bite to eat I swing in here and grab a slice or two. We have tried their pasta dishes which are also very tasty. The salads are very fresh and delicious. And of course the Hoagies are delicious as well. They have a nice variety of items to choose from. They offer daily specials. Like I said, we have tried several items here and all have been very good. Prices are reasonable. Portions are very filling. Service is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Its very hard to find good, friendly customer service anywhere these days, so when I do come across a business that practices good service as well as quality service I try to take the few extra minutes to Thank them and let others know. I am so happy that we have them so close to home. I highly recommend trying them out. If you don't find something you like, well then, you may need to see a specialist on your taste buds ;). This place used to be good. But lately the pizzas are very greasy and the crust/doe is very hard an sometimes burnt, and they are stingy with toppings. The pizzas lack flavor, all I taste is grease. Wish their pizzas would go back to how they used to be...thick bread, lots of cheese and ingredients, and full of flavor. But unfortunately that's not the case anymore. I can't speak for their other menu items, but the pepperoni pizza is superb! You can tell they use good quality ingredients, as the cheese is fantastic. The crust is exactly how I like it: not thick and too chewy, but also not too thin and crispy. Sauce is on point as well: not too sweet or tart, not over-oreganoed (yup made that word up). Also, it's not over-sauced, a big pet peeve of mine. I'm sticking with 4 stars until I explore the menu a bit and order a few more times to verify consistency.
