Great Pizza Company is located in Cedar Lakes Shopping Center in Chesapeake. The restaurant is located near my job so people in my office occasionally order pizza from it. It's always fresh hot and delicious. I had never actually visited the shop until recently. I stopped in on a Monday after work and ordered a large The Works Calzone and a large The Works Stromboli. Upon entering the small restaurant I was greeted by the friendly staff. The young lady and young man working were pleasant and professional. They appeared to enjoy their jobs. They quickly prepared my order which I took home. My wife and I enjoyed our meal. I preferred the calzone and my wife favored the stromboli. They were both fresh and delicious. There is always plenty of parking available in the lot shared with the other tenants of the shopping center. There is a small dining room if you prefer to eat inside. The restaurant was clean on my visit but the counter could benefit from some fresh paint in spots. The food is delicious but if you prefer to pay with plastic be prepared to pay a small surcharge. read more

I appreciate that completely. Due to my Survivorship diet smoked or cured meats I have in moderation so tonight I chose pepperoni. I'm glad I did. It added of course to the delightful experience. As a Native New Yorker. I want to compare this 18 inch pie with that of none other then GINOS pizzeria. The one and only thing that was missing was the well cooked crust...slightly burnt from the brick oven. NY Pizza we know and LOVE bcuz of the crust. The vessel that delivers all the fresh grated moozarell, (that's NY talk for mozzarella, not a typo) marinara sauce, pepperoni and your choice of toppings. I really like mine with just cheese. So my next order I will again ask them to leave it n the oven slightly longer to get just a lil bit burnt ...and that will send me right back to Gino's on Dutch boradway n Elmont NY or pretty much any Gino's pizzeria. Customer service great. The pizza was not. It was cooked properly and the size was impressive, but the sauce and cheap cheese threw it waaaaay off . You know the cheese that refuses to get all hot and silky when you bake it. That cheese. The sauce was bitter. You could just tell that they used less expensive ingredients. Couldn't figure out why the driver raced away when handing me my order. Then I opened it to see the deformed pies and melted cannolis. Not gonna lie, pizza still tasted good. NY style, with a good bake, flavorful sauce, and fresh toppings. Sauce to cheese to crust bordered a tad heavy on dough, compressed down by our driver. Haha Bought 4 large cannolis but received 8 small. Not a fan of the Hershey syrup drizzle or that driver put on top of hot pizza; made for a gooey mess on delivery as pictured. Did it stop us from eating them, no! I'd order from them again but would check the merch before driver flees. $90 for 3 large pizzas and Cannolis +delivery +tax +tip isn't bad. read more

I've heard time after time that I should try out GPC. So finally I have. I ordered the pizza via the Slice app so I had no interaction with the staff other than the pie being dropped off. This was a large Pep, Mushroom, and Onion pizza. Delivery time was kind of slow IMOP, however, the driver was friendly. As for the pizza itself. It was an ok pizza. Personally, this is what I would call a utility pie. The dough was fresh. I felt like there could have been a bit more to the toppings for the price. I found this pie to be completely in the middle. I understand many reviewers think this is a 5-star pizza, but I just don't see it. Does it get the job done, sure? But it's just average at best. There's no POP to this product. Would I try them again, sure. But I'm not in a hurry either. read more

Hubby and I ordered delivery from here last night. We were feeling some pizza and didn't want to drive anywhere so we decided to check out them out. Glad we did! I ordered online and it was very easy to do so. We ordered a large cheese pizza with pepperoni and extra mushrooms. We also ordered garlic knots and a greek salad. It was delivered on time and hot! The pizza was delicious! The only thing negative was that we ordered extra mushrooms and it was clearly not extra. Still delicious though. The garlic knots were yummy and so was the greek salad. We were very impressed with how good the food was, the delivery time, and the ease of ordering. Food was a bit on the pricy side. We will definitely be coming back real soon the next time we want pizza. They also have pasta and sandwiches too! read more

This place has AMAAAAAAZING FOOD!! Did I remember to take pictures? Nope! Because all I could manage was getting this food in my mouth!! I ordered the bacon cheese fries and I was in such a hurry to eat this deliciously made appetizer that I burned my arm.....yes, the plate was a perching hot! But they bring it out in another bowl. I just was careless. Anyhow, when the pizza came out, it was perfect! Cheese was dress and stringy, not cakey like some other places. The sausage looks like pepperoni slices and not balls of sausage. But it was good! The crust was crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. It was really good. The owner even came out to ask us how things were which was a surprise because it is only a small 7ish table place. Very nice of him! The bathrooms were clean, and the atmosphere game me the immediate impression of a family owned mom and pop kinda place. It was homey. I would def recommend you check this place out! Being new to the area, I have been checking out the local pizza shops to see who has the best pie. Great Pizza Co was on the list for today. Good: - the pizza had good flavor, toppings were well distributed around the entire pie, and were fresh - ordering was easy and was able to do it from the Yelp app - time to cook was about 15 mins Bad: - crust was too flimsy. Picking up a slice with your hands results in the entire slice flopping down like a wet noodle and all the toppings landing on your lap. Looking at the bottom of the crust, it had the brown cooked color, but aside from the thin layer touching the pan, the rest seemed to be raw. I consider Pizza to be a finger food, meant to be convenient and eaten with your hands and not scraped off your lap with a fork. Considering all the great reviews people are leaving, I will consider this to possibly be a one-off bad order and will give them another chance sometime in the future. read more

We have a winner! I ordered two pizzas which included the Nacho pizza and The Works. Both were delicious! They were New York style pizzas with large slices and fresh toppings. I also ordered the boneless mild Buffalo wings (by mistake!) but I'm glad I did! I'm never a fan of boneless wings but these were fantastic! Great flavor, great sauce and they were still moist. Super mid pizza. Nothing is particularly bad about it. But also nothing is particularly stand out about it. It's just bland middle of the road pizza. The crust tastes like nothing but flour. While I cant say it was terrible, I definitely wont say it there was much good about it. I ordered a meat lovers stromboli and a slice of tiramisu to be delivered. The stromboli was a decent size, but it and its accompanying pizza sauce was just bland. Frozen pizza from the supermarket has more flavor. On the other end of the spectrum, was the tiramisu. I have ordered twice from them in the past two weeks. First time was delivery, tipped 20% online when ordering and the delivery guy was rude and it wasn't a delivery service, it was their guy. Second time I decided to try pick up. I really wanted to like this place after a neighbor recommended it. The delivery seems quick enough, but the food quality and quality control are terrible. Tonight we ordered two cheese pizzas. We usually finish one and save the other for quick lunches/dinners when kids have sports etc. when I went to put the second one away I discovered the pizza wasn't sliced at all. This wouldn't be so bad if the other food was good. The cheese sticks aren't mozzarella. They are some cheese blend that doesn't melt, but rather has the consistency of cream cheese mixed with sour cream when you eat them. They don't melt/stretch. The meatballs are very bland. It seems they are putting their faith in the sauce to carry the flavor, but they need some help. The fried ravioli is descent. read more
