One chicken strip cut into small bite size pieces.

Absolutely not !! The picture says it all. Cost me nearly 20 dollars. Chicken and avocado cost extra so you would assume they would give you quality meat but nope it was dry and hard not to mention they forgot the avocado so I had to drive all the way back and ask them to put it on my salad. Stick to the pizza.

Came with my daughter. I know it's off season, but the pizza was awesome. Love that they have gluten- free crust and the lemonade is good. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. The waitstaff was not as attentive as I would have liked and didn't bring napkins or silverware. Checked one time after we received our food then to bring the check. Easy access from beachfront.

Wanted to start this off by saying the staff was working SO hard! It was so busy and they were working so hard and quickly, they were absolute rock stars! We got the Cloud 9 wings, which were about a 3.5/5, I'd probably get the other flavor next time. However, the Super Pep pizza was FANTASTIC! 5/5! We loved it. Nice staff, clean restaurant, and great food. This is a great spot in ocean front!

Went here for dinner around 11 pm on a Friday. No wait time; the inside only had a few people sitting while majority of people were sitting outside. Waitress was very friendly and nice. I loved the funky decor inside had a fun ambiance. I decided to try their Strawberry shakedown (10/10) it was different, fizzy, and gave a nice buzz. Also had their Mighty Meaty pizza (10/10) it was fresh, hot, cheesy, and very flavorful. I was craving pizza all day and this really hit the spot for dinner. I was very pleased with dining here. Def returning in the future; so good! My overall rate of experience : 10/10

Visited this mellow mushroom location on a recent trip to Virginia Beach. My party shared a large pizza, and appreciated that we could try two different flavors on one pizza. The potato bacon ranch special was bomb! Service was incredibly slow even though we were seated right away, so be prepared to wait awhile if eating during the rush.

@MellowVaBeach 3501 Atlantic Avenue Virginia Beach, VA 23451 Sunday - Thursday 11a - 11p Friday - Saturday 11a - 12a Their pizzas made me a fan. I will not lie I was drawn by their aesthetic on the outside but Im sure glad they were more than that. There's something about the texture of their dough, they way they made their pizzas, and how the ingredients made everything so good. I like the fact that there are a lot of choices to choose from and I was able to try 4 different pizzas on 2 pies. My favorites were the Buffalo Pizza and Holy Shiitake. So yeah definitely try them out. You won't regret it! Thank you Mellow Mushroom!

    Super Pepp. Amazing

I admit, in my older age I have become snobby about large chains and tend to only like to eat at local, family-owned spots. So, I haven't been in a big hurry to give this Mellow Mushroom a try, although my husband is a huge pizza guy. We have a new bike accessory for our baby and so we decided to take advantage of the early summer weather and ride our bikes one friday evening here and sit on the patio. They had some wonderful mellow acoustic music, sat us immediately (at around 6:45pm) and were easily able to accommodate our baby (there were 3 other babies out on the patio which was reassuring). Our server, Maddie, was adorable, friendly, and SO good. Good service is harder and harder to come by so, when it happens, it's excellent. She was an absolute 10. Very personable, good with our baby, efficient, fast with refills and all requests and just kind overall. I'd ask for her any day of the week. I got their Cobb salad and the chicken was amazing, you could really tell the quality and I really liked the roma tomatos on the salad. This Cobb wasn't especially loaded with toppings but was simple and hearty and fresh. Our pizza was an easy choice for me, the first one I saw and the first one I wanted: Super Pepp. Topped with red sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, tangy peppers, dollops of seasoned ricotta cheese and a swirl of hot honey. I love savory and sweet and the ricotta on top was amazing once you spread it around. We asked for it super thin and it was very thin just as we asked. The pace was good, food was excellent, wonderful music, and fabulous service. I was far more impressed than I expected and we enjoyed ourselves so much we decided to make this a monthly family outing. The menu is huge and they have far more than pizza on it - lots of appetizers, some local items only, make your own pizza but also a ton of pizzas you can try, burgers, sandwiches, salads, tacos etc. Also, want to try their brownie next time so, will def. be back!

    Pacific rim (small)

It's pretty good pizza! Good vibes too. We stopped in for late night dinner (9:30pm) on a Friday and it was a full house. Took about 15 minutes to get seated. We ordered the veggie calzone and pacific rim small pizza. Both tasted great but our favorite was the calzone. The calzone was way bigger than I thought it would be. HUGE! The veggies tasted really fresh and all complimented each other well. The side of marinara was a cherry on top! The pizza was also delicious. Sweet, spicy, savory. For those of you who like pineapple on pizza- this one's for you! Also shoutout to the live music performer that night, James Ford. He was phenomenal and really impressed us with his talent. Overall great vibes from this mellow mushroom.

We spent a lot of time at the beach this weekend due to the amazing weather. After some play time on the sand we were hungry and wanting to eat right away. We were right next to mellow mushroom so in we went. We always enjoy our visits here. Madison T was our wonder waitress this visit. She was literally so fun so sweet so kind so bubbly. It was so nice having her and I hope we can visit with her again in the future. Our food was great. My only disappointment was the Greek salad. The dressing was not at all what I was expecting. Still, everything else was fresh, piping hot and most importantly delish!!!!! Can't wait to come back.

We don't have a Mellow Mushroom in NYC so I take my family there when ever I can. Ever since the first time they've been hooked. The calzones to the custom pies. The staff usually make it very welcoming. The last time we made to a MM they had outdoor seating. It was great.

    Banana pudding ice cream sandwich
    Erika J.

Came for a late dinner with my large family. We were in town for a track meet and this spot was recommended to us. I got a white pizza with chicken spinach and tomato and it was really good. For dessert they had banana pudding ice cream sandwiches and it wasn't what k was expecting but it was tasty nonetheless. We sat in their 'hybrid' area that had heater La and the heaters were TURNT UP. We got so toasty we requested they turn them off. I would return, and get that exact pizza.

    Kara M.

Absolutely delicious. I've been to several different, mellow mushrooms around the country, and this was a really good location. Our food was fresh and hot, and the prices were right. Spinach was delicious! Pizza is always great! The ambience inside was really cool, tons of mushroom murals, as well as an amazing Mural on the outside of the building. Our waitress was really nice, as well as the woman who sat Ass down for our table. She accommodated us due to having a stroller. Definitely stop by if you're looking for some pizza and other cool options as well.

Nice place by the start of North End! I know it's a chain but man it's always sooooo good. I love their mushroom pizza. Their numero uno pizza. They also have other dishes like meatballs and man. THEIR DIP. CLUTCH. We got the spinach , buffalo, AND queso dip. All good. Must go!

It was supposed to be a thin crust pizza

So when one of the Homies told me about this place I was all in because - burgers - what's not to love. Barrel 17 did not disappoint; when i got there i realized quickly i was the last to know because it was busy. We had about a 10 minute wait to be seated but that was cut short by option to sit at the bar. The bartender was working like she had six arms. It was non stop; attentive, taking orders, making drinks, checking back with others, she was truly impressive. The places was jumping; it was busy, casual and didn't slow down from the time we arrived until we left. Parking is challenging, there's a small lot beside the restaurant and a small lot behind it so if you can car pool you'll benefit yourselves. Now on to the star of the show - the food! The only knock I had was portion size. In a big guy with an even bigger appetite and when i left there i could've eaten my whole meal over again lol. But that's also because it was delicious. I got the mac n cheese starter, the Beast Burger, tater tots , and the biggest slice of chocolate cake I've ever had. Literally the biggest slice of cake ever- twice the size of my burger. Everything was delicious, from start to finish and if i were a person that had a normal appetite i would've left full like my friends did. Will definitely be back!

The last time I set foot inside their Pleasure House Rd location was at least 10 years ago. I celebrated my birthday there as my friends were kind enough to take me out. It was a Sunday morning and I sought out a place that offered brunch. I noticed 1608 was open and decided to head over, especially since I haven't visited them in ages. When I walked in, I noticed their dining room is dimly lit - much darker than I remember. I was greeted immediately by a kind hostess and she proceeded to sit me at a nearby table and provided me with menus (one food, one alcohol). I took my time looking over the food menu, and in the meantime I ordered a pint of Center of the Universe's Bald Irishman and a bottle of Boylan's Black Cherry soda (they do not have a soda fountain). What made this visit memorable was that 1608's bartender, Hunter, was an old acquaintance from back in my restaurant days. He spotted me and came over to say hi. After my meal, I continued to catch up with him at the bar. His presence made a pleasant experience even more fantastic. I thought I was hungry, so I ordered 2 dishes - Smoked Ham Fried Rice and the Breakfast Burrito. According to Hunter, every item is made fresh in house. After biting into each, you could tell that's true. Both the fried rice and burrito were delicious and boasted lots of flavor. Although I prefer my fried rice a bit simpler (if you give me just garlic fried rice, I am SET), 1608's fried rice (veggies, garlic, soy, basmati rice, 2 runny eggs, smoked ham) had a lot going on, which made for a flavorful dish. I liked the rice and the burrito (Korean style fried chicken breast, scrambled eggs, cilantro lime, cheddar, pico de gallo) a lot. I didn't finish either because it was a lot of food (I really thought I was hungry, haha). But these leftovers turned into a fantastic dinner later on. 1608 looked clean and organized, although I thought it was a little too dark inside, at least for brunch service. That's not a dealbreaker since everything from the food to the service was as excellent as I remember. I hope to return soon with my mom. Regardless, I'll find my way back eventually. Thank you, 1608 Crafthouse! And great seeing you again, Hunter! JV

The menu is small but very intentionally focused. They offer smash burgers done right, the iconic Norfolk snap dog, ice-cold beers, wine, and classic cocktails, and the prices are honestly great for the quality. The space itself feels like an old-school local diner in the best way. Bar stools, cozy seating, and that nostalgic, no-frills vibe that makes you want to hang out longer than planned. It's small, so definitely expect a wait during busy times, but it's absolutely worth it. They also have outdoor seating, which will be clutch once the warm weather really kicks in. I ordered a Modelo, the F&P style fries, and the Mickey Burger. The fries are next-level, very much giving In-N-Out animal style vibes topped with grilled onions, Goodboy sauce, and cheese. I could eat those alone and be happy. The Mickey Burger comes with a double patty, cheese, Goodboy sauce, pickles, lettuce, onions, and a sesame bun. I subbed the raw onions for grilled onions (highly recommend), and it was perfection. Juicy, crispy-edged, flavorful ... everything a smash burger should be. I truly can't express how good this place is. The service was great, the food was unreal, and I'm already planning my next visit. Next time, I'm definitely trying their espresso martini. Frank and Patty's has officially turned me into a burger person, and I'm not mad about it.

Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.

Ladies if you look good he might let you slide on free items (I've seen it myself) but fellas he's gonna hassle you even for sour cream if you don't tip him enough to his satisfaction and then complain to your face about it if you're a regular. To those that care: The specific incident that caused my review was I had went in on a tuesday for their "taco Tuesday" special. Now because I work by the oceanfront I frequent this place. I've been told they aren't supposed to let you walk out with to go orders on their taco Tuesday, but if I pay for and eat some of my food who is this manager to say I can't leave with a to go box(which in most cases I have), but I digress. I tried to do it today and the manager comes to me with a nasty attitude over me not tipping enough for his standards telling me I can't take my food to go because he doesn't feel I tip enough and "what's a 5 dollar tip gonna do for him". Keep in mind I told him I'm not ordering food for just myself I sometimes take lunch orders from work which is never more than 5 to go small tacos. I've never been rude to this man I'm a quiet person so I usually order wait and leave. I work for a reputable company that sees a lot of tourism and I often recommended this spot to our guests but due to this situation I will be advising people to avoid this place if you're not just going to drink at the end of the night on The Weekend. In the specific event the owner of the restaurant was there and confirmed they weren't supposed to be doing to go tacos which I can respect. What I dont respect is the manager picking and choosing when he wants to follow the rules of the establishment for his own gain.
